Brando also said that Nebraska would win multiple national titles under Scott Frost. But he's not wrong about Saban's tactics. That's why he got out of coaching.

Portal and NIL killed the college football dynasty and killed much of the loyalty and imo a lot of the discipline and control coaches had over the team.

@gdawg4ever119 10 часов назад
@@DaddyLouie-w6o more like an explanation. Too many entitled young players now and we will see more of it too. And when Kirby said tackling is bad all around right now , I think that’s coming from that too. Putting money in a young man’s hand can make him start thinking he is somebody before he actually is. That definitely messes up some things.

The portal alone killed teams being great every year, nick saban got the number 1 or 2 recruiting classes every year and without the transfer portal they all had to stay, alabama started getting worse after the transfer portal started, hoarding players is what kept alabama winning.
@gdawg4ever119
@gdawg4ever119 7 часов назад
@@chasejackson7248 Well players were allowed to transfer before the portal they just had to sit out one season. Other teams had top 5 recruiting classes and couldn’t beat bama so there were many more reasons bama won so much.

Yeah, I think his comment is true, and applies, to all of college football, and that was how he meant it, but we Bama fans - Roll Tide - are the most notable victims. Klatt spoke on this too and talked about the relative performance curves of schools having more overlap than they did in the past, so now on “any given Saturday” if you don’t show up (or if your DC can’t make effective adjustments), you are at higher risk of losing the game.

Saban was the last coach to have full control of his team. Since the portal and NIL the players are in charge and they know it. If things don't go their way they just transfer out. That's the main reason Saban hung it up after last year.

The big brand universities could buy players and the NCAA would look the other way. If you tried it as a smaller school so as to try and build a competitive program they would give you the death penalty. NIL has stopped all that.

He did okay right up to the political BS he was spouting. my brain dribbled out of my ear with that rant he went off on. Honestly the coaches and colleges need some power back or things will get out of hand. This pundit knows this but can't bring himself to actually say it without the politics BS.

Honestly, this is the worst episode/clip of this I've ever seen. What politics has to do with coaching is beyond me. Red or Blue in politics doesn't matter on the field, and players choosing to leave schools has nothing to do with being yelled at. It has to do with money, period. Playing time equates money and current players don't view the NFL as the end game now. Welcome to the new college football. It's what everyone wanted, right? Isn't it so much BETTER now?

@chasejackson7248

The majority of players aren't getting big money to play, 1 precent are getting in the hundreds of thousands or millions, the nfl is still going to pay the majority more money then college.

There is nothing “parity” about kids being scared to compete, quitting on their team, school pride, and playing for money
@gyberic
@gyberic 10 часов назад
Imagine you’re one of these highly recruited kids who ends up sitting on Alabama or Georgia’s bench. You’re not getting a bunch of NIL money when no one knows your name. Opportunities come up elsewhere and these kids would be fools to not take those opportunities. That’s where parity, at least in some form, comes from. Kids are starting for Vandy and Kentucky instead of waiting for their turns (which may never come, by the way) elsewhere
@GpG-dt4su

@@gyberic During Saban’s time at Alabama a record breaking 133 Players were drafted with 47 being 1st Rounders. 35 of those 1st Round Players only started at Alabama 1 to 2 years (Junior and/or Seniors). Now let’s think about all the Big Time Players that transferred to other schools? Not a single Alabama Player other than Jalen Hurts had a positive Transfer Experience. Other than Hurts the only other 2 big times Players that transferred who went on to be 1st Rounders is Jamo and Gibbs thanks to Alabama. All the other players who transferred from Alabama likely regretted it. Stats don’t lie and they tell us that those players who waited their turn, developed, and matured benefited by it significantly
