The inmate himself chose to pursue this method of execution. They simply didn't mention this. Why is CBS looking for unfounded sympathy for a guy who's a hired killer?
liberal news outlets do this. withhold information for a purposed narrative. i mean all media does it no matter the side but liberal media outlets are very good at doing it all the time.
This is a stupid comment, even for a bot. Why would we ever talk about cruel and unusual punishment when talking about the victim? Why would the Constitution apply to the victim of a crime? Unless the criminal is the literal US Government that provision does not apply.
OMG he was sentenced to death!! I can't believe we have to hear this murderer complaining about how worried he is. What about how his victim felt before he killed her? Unbelievable!!!!!
Wheres the coverage on the suffering the VICTIM went through??? The VICTIM didnt have a choice, the VICTIMS life was stolen. Why are the victims forgotten and ppl only focus on this POS? When he made the choice to take her life for money he forfeited his right to live. Im sorry but the victim gets my empathy, my compassion, my prayers, not a POS that doesnt mind taking anothers life.
He took a woman's life and everyone feels bad for him because he's going to be suffocated...... Sickening! You get what you give! Remorse doesn't bring back the life that was taken!
AND unusual. The word “and” means unusual must be associated. Since suffering is part of about 80% of all executions, it isn’t unusual. That is exactly why new methods are tried. It means that suffering hasn’t been alleviated in prior attempts.
I keep getting censored by youtube for trying to point out the blatant absurdity of paying for this guy to sit in a cell for 35 years- all for the sake of fragile people who can’t bring themselves to live in the real world where people are punished in such a way all the time, and have been for all of human history. Stop hurting my pockets with your delicate conscience!
A lot of people myself included keep having our comments sha dow ba nn ed and this is the last month I'm paying 15 dollars for ad free youtube. I never say anything that is completely of fensive
It's hypoxia. How can that be cruel? At lower levels of hypoxia, people don't even realize their state of consciousness is altered. After recovery, reports of euphoria are commonly reported. This is far too humane for an execution.
The government shouldn't be in the business of revenge. It should be about following the law. Ultimately, it is about who We are as a society. A vindictive government is incredibly dangerous for everyone.
*This is neither cruel nor torturous. In fact, hypoxia is EUPHORIC. I’ve spent time training in a military, high altitude test chamber. Under supervision, we were subject to a degree of hypoxia to learn the effects of failing to use proper oxygen mask procedures.*
I did time in an altitude chamber when I was in the military and they also tested us for hypoxia symptoms. I had a great time and got higher than hell, then as soon as we got oxygen it was like throwing a switch and you're sober again. After that I got to fly a T-33 for about an hour. That was over fifty years ago and still remember how much fun flying that jet was.
@@scholaroftheworldalternatehist There was one guy in the group I was in that passed out from lack of oxygen, but as soon as they put his oxygen mask back on he was OK. He could have died if they didn't give him oxygen but he was unconscious and wasn't feeling anything.
How in the hell did Alabama botch an execution?!! They need to call Texas, bcuz Texas doesn't have too many issues, when it comes to the executions department!
You have one person to insert the IV, if they can't find a vein in a set amount of time. And the execution time passes, you have to stop the execution. Lethal injection has the highest rate of botched executions, and we have had 276 botched executions.
The medical technician couldn't get the iv inserted in his veins before the deadline of the death warrant elapse. So they never injected him with drugs.
That's what's wrong with this country. This murderer after serving time and using all his appeals and still found guilty has more rights than the normal Joe Blow citizen out here😅😅😂 what about the cruel and unusual punishment to that lovely woman😢😢
@@EcoFustionTVUnfortunately he won't suffer. Fun fact: *You asphyxiate not because lack of Oxygen but you feel your blood becoming acidic due to CO2.* If you were put in O2 free environment where you would exhale CO2 you couldn't sense it. You will simply black out and die
@realtogetherred true but consequences are a real thing. When he committed that act he did it knowing the law. He is now suffering the consequences of his actions.
@@terryvest906 He's already facing the consequences by being in prison. Since he's locked up, he's not a danger to society anymore, so there's no need for the death penalty.
I'm struggling to understand why they're reporting on this in the way they are... the level of sympathy they're trying to portray for the murdered is vile. He willing killed a woman for $1,000.00 and has been allowed to live for over 30 years. Now he's in therapy for PTSD. All I'm hearing is once again our taxes being wasted. To be honest, this report is absolutely appalling.
Wasn't there a time, that when a person was sentenced to death, the punishment was carried out immediately or within 24 hours?? All these appeals are insane.
Your average inmate that is on death. Row is on death row for almost 20 years before something happens. That is pathetic and look at all the money spent on this wow
@@KathyBourdon That's assuming there was a just and fair process. Look at how many people are released after 20+ years now that there's DNA evidence to show their innocence.
The chair had a ton of issues. It was ancient and a poor design. I don't care about the condemned, but it was a chit job for the persons involved. For that reason, the chair is a bad idea.
The air we breathe is comprised of 78% nitrogen, the expert stating that it could hurt people around him in the same room needs to stop smoking his own stuff!
Nitro Execution be like Executioner : Sir it’s been an hour this guy is still breathing heavily in his mask Officer : damn it he was one of the drivers in fast and furious
Waa waa waa!! How ironic that he thought it was ok to take someone else's life but now he's crying about having PTSD and cruel and unusual punishment. Its a disgrace. His victim wasn't given an extra 35 years why has he??!!
Why is it that the killer has more rights then the victim? Don't place blame on the justice system or the penalty or the country - those are our laws; he took the life of a person for cash, he was tried and convicted by his peers and sentenced to death. His crime was his choice and punishment by society is our choice - don't like it then work to change the laws.
Because there have been several cases where someone was executed on death row only for it to be found out like a year later they were innocent when new evidence is found. They have killed a lot of innocent men so they're trying to avoid that by giving them time to figure those things out.
Awwww poor guy, has "ptsd" from the first try at execution... I don't feel bad for him one dang bit. I agree, the only sad thing about this ,is how long it has taken to pull it off. He has been alive too long since being found guilty.
The problem is it takes to long, far to much consideration and empathy for a killer that was not empathetic or consideration to the innocent, the LGBTkid grooming and lack of accountability to criminals is why I left the democratic party.
When he killed someone did he that was humane? No, it was not. It was inhumane and the family lost a loved one because of him. I bet the family of the victim has PTSD because of his actions.
I wonder how much pain and suffering was endured by the woman he murdered, or her family? See B.S. is more concerned about the safety and well being of a murderer though.
"Carrying TRAUMA from the last try"?? Really? You have the death sentence because you murdered a person, and you want to claim you have trauma. Bunch of crap.
Did the woman get a second chance? No, tough that he is traumatized. I don’t care what he has gone through. Let him go through it. He did the crime, they said the death penalty, he needs to go through it. I do not feel sorry for him. My sister was murdered, so I know how the family feels!
Average (without including legal expenses and medical) is $130,000/yr. So this guy has cost the State of Alabama something like 4.5 MILLION DOLLARS so far.
Its time. Everyone is oooo concerned about HIS rights, his feelings, but what about the woman he murdered? Didnt she deserve to live? What about her rights? He got 36 years that she was cheated out of.
Typical media story: Giving primarily one side of the story; giving newcasters' opinions, and not the facts only; if any opposite thoughts are shared, giving only the weakest arguments.
They couldn't get an IV line into his veins. I think it's three attempts before they have to stop. The dude probably refused water to keep his veins tight.
35 years of life that Elizabeth Sennett did not have. He is deluded if he believes for one minute that anyone cares what he feels about the failed lethal injection. Did he have a moment of PTSD over taking the life of an innocent woman? 35 years of life after a death sentence is so repugnant to even hear about that I am outraged by the blatant injustice. Elizabeth Sennett deserves justice, now. She has laid in a grave while this murderer ate three meals a day, and the public paid .
This is so messed up. Death by oxygen deprevation is cruel. You die from a heart attack as your heart races to carry oxygen. Your mind is goes into trauma mode. You become hyper aware. Its a tortuous death. What a great lesson to teach. Dont be like your state. Dont torture people to death.
Supposedly the nitrogen induces suffocation without letting you inhale carbon dioxide, so your body never feels like it's suffocating. You simply wear the mask, fall asleep, and never wake up. If this works this could be a very humane method. It's not like just putting a bag over someone's head.
This is incorrect. There is no mechanism in the human body to detect oxygen. The thing we do detect is carbon dioxide buildup which is what drives the breathing reflex. Nitrogen asphyxiation causes no ill effects other than hypoxia which is why it is so incredibly dangerous in contained spaces. This is mostly because the air is already mostly nitrogen, so to the body it's business as usual.
