Alabama Safety Xavier McKinney
Junior 6’1 200 lbs
Alabama produces top defensive prospects every year & this year is no different. CB Trevon Diggs & LB Dylan Moses are listed as top prospects at their respective positions & the same goes for Safety Xavier McKinney, who might be the first Crimson Tide player drafted depending on how much teams love QB Tua Tagovailoa.
There’s a lot to like about McKinney. He plays a lot bigger than what he’s listed at. He lays hard hits & has good ball skills. He’s the kind of defensive back NFL teams go crazy over because the league has almost fully transitioned into a passing league.

As bad asbi wanted simmons he will. I think as a fan base we wanted simmons so bad because he's a LB with great coverage and versatility. We're tired of being terrorized over the middle lol. If Mckinney can develop into devin mccourty and be a ball hawk on the backend, the giants will have a solid safety duo for years and a solid defense. WE NEED A COVERAGE LB THO. I was praying we got mack wilson last year late and this year was logan wilson smh. I found 2 coverage gems and the media boosted them up lol

When you compare him to deplit, it seems to me like mckenny is the safer pick. He is very consistent and solid in all aspect of the position. I think that deplit is more talented though and brings greater upside it's just that his tackling is very suspect at times. Both players can be very great starter for any team in need of a safety. If mckenny was just a hair fast I think it would be a no brainer.

I could see this kid being drafted by my dolphins at 18, the pick they got from the Steelers when they traded Minkah. So we trade an ALABAMA safety and draft an ALABAMA safety with that pick. And they play exactly the same. It would be like we never traded minkah.
