@@tafaofamily4819 Agreed…. But when you look at the 2 deep roster at the beginning of the year to who’s playing in the Bowl game, they were depleted. 30 out of 44 players did not play. No excuse, that’s football. Anyway, Oklahoma had their fair share missing as well. Nonetheless, the Sooners played an excellent game. Congrats to Oklahoma from this Duck fan. Good luck next year.

That offense? Oregons team was missing THIRTY (30) three zero, scholarship players in this game. They only had 55 players dress up. So... Yeah whatever makes you feel good.

This is no surprise. Oklahoma has been defensively handicapped for years.

They generally have the offense to actually compete for the Natty. But that defense is embarrassing. When playing any of the powerhouses in the playoffs, doesn't matter how good the offense is when they are scoring against you on every drive. The offense has to work way harder to try and make up for the lack of Defense, especially if their opponent has a great defense. Then they wind up getting tired and falling out or just not scoring enough because it was a real competition for them, but not for the other team.

Thankfully we got Lebby to be our OC and it’s going to take an elite Defensive mind as HC to get us out of this rut and that’s why we hired BV. This team will be dangerous

Play was dead at the spot of the foul, ended up being a field goal instead of touchdown

because it's a rule that protects the safety of players and can't be realistically exploited. Tackling is much easier and doesn't come with a 15 yard spot foul.

We lost our head coach and half the coaching staff in a sneak attack, had key players transfer and opt out, and are still unsure about the future of some of our most valuable skill positions, but no one would have shed any tears for us had we lost tonight. Can’t argue with that. Oregon isn’t the same team we saw earlier in the year. Half their team is injured. Still, you saw the skill level with both teams. A lot of freshman were playing. Both teams should be doing very well starting next year. Congrats to Oklahoma.

Oregon playing this game speaks volumes on their program and culture. Oklahoma with that win with Bob stoops is also amazing couldn’t be happier with the direction we’re heading

Both teams had so many opt outs and transfers and such.

They have 30 players missing from the original 44 deep from the start of the season. This isn’t the same team. They had their backup center playing nose tackle for crying out loud. All the receiving and TE corp are freshmen. 1 scholarship linebacker played, then he went out for the game. The only scholarship players playing linebacker is a safety. They had four original starters on defense playing. So yes, this was expected. Regardless, Oklahoma played an outstanding game and their offense is no joke. Congrats to the Sooners. Face mask on the defense was the penalty. Once the helmet comes off they can't advance the ball. Makes sense cause somebody could get a severe head injury if the play continued.

The rule is, once a helmet is ripped off, they stop the play to prevent injury to that player. Oregon got penalized, not the Sooners. Now, in this case, it hurt Oklahoma because it ended up being a touchdown play, but usually, that’s rare. Most the time a helmet gets ripped off, it’s a tackle on the spot. Oklahoma couldn’t deny the penalty because the play is called dead from the spot of the foul. I hope that clears that up.

Not really… Oregon was still getting yards, but the penalties killed their drives in the first half. That, and Anthony Brown went cold on his passes. Oklahoma still played an outstanding game. Regardless, they are still the better team.

I think that was more of the Ducks settling in and OU was missing 4 huge starters on defense. But at the same time OU also took its foot off the gas in the 2nd I would assume out of professional respect and to protect a few guys from possible injuries. Brooks could have ran for 200 in that game.

It's been a problem for years. Hoping BV can turn around our defense and get OU tackling again.
