These five short movements are by turns light-hearted and delicately expressive, forming an enjoyable and symmetrical suite.

Little Suite may be played by Flute Choir (as here) or by three solo flutes (see separate video). The Flute Choir version is scored for Piccolo (optional), Flutes 1 and 2, Flute 3/Alto Flute, and Bass Flute (optional): the score you see here is condensed onto three staves as the optional instruments double the main ones at different octaves.
Little Suite was originally written for two oboes and cor anglais, and has been performed many times in this version, which Double Reed News described as ‘a most attractive work which can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages’.
