My all- time favorite song. Alan did it perfectly. George had to be so proud of Alan and his rendition of the song. Miss you George. Thank you Mr. Jackson for making George look down on you and smile because you are keeping his Country music alive today ! Two of the greatest ever!!!
There may never have been another song during any concert where Alan was more determined to do an OUTSTANDING job. This performance was a lot more than a song. It was a statement to honor #1.
What a beautiful tribute to George Jones . Allen you sing like an angel and I'm glad you're still here . You have so many that love you .May God Richly Bless You .
What an amazing job he did on this George Jones classic. I am not usually a fan of people redoing a perfectly good song but he did this song so much justice. The best remake I have ever heard.
Wow! That's the best since George did it & it was live at that!! It's so extremely difficult to sing some one's song in front of them! AJ really nailed it! Sure miss George!
Alans hero was George Jones. He even broke the rules once for George on live TV. They branded Alan as an outlaw because the bosses couldn't control him. Alan Jackson stands for good old fashion Country Music. He carries the torch for all in country western music !!! Mom loved him like a son !! We saw Alan live in NH and she was so smitten like a little school girl. Thank you Alan for being the man that you are !!
Alan Jackson is one of the last great of Real Country Music. His love and support of Real Country Music and George Jones is heartfelt. Live to hear him sing.
GOD BLESS YOU ALAN FOR STAYING COUNTRY AND KEEPING THE COUNTRY IN COUNTRY MUSIC 🎶🎶🎶❤️🤗 YOU ARE SO GIFTED AND TALENTED AND BLESSED 🤗❤️🙏 I'VE ALWAYS BEEN A FAN FROM THE BEGINNING AND I PRAY THAT YOU NEVER STOP SINGING 🎶🎶❤️🤗🙏 YOU SURE DID GEORGE PROUD WITH THIS AMAZING SONG 🎶🎶❤️🤗🙏
It's a great song I've played it for years and I will play it until I can't. This song would've been covered by a lot of singers if George hadn't done such a great job. He owned it from the second he sang it.
Just spoke at my uncles funeral and this song was played. Mr Jackson thank you and I will Amit what a beautiful voice you have. I know Mr. Jones was very pleased.
A great song by George Jones ,, my two favorites " He Stopped Loving Her Today " and " Who's Gonna Fill Them Shoes ". There have been so many over the years a great singer and songwriter.
📖{KJV} Psalm 23 (A Psalm of David) "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all of the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."
I’m guessing someone on here has also seen the video of AJ on some Star Search thing singing a bit of this going to a commercial break back in the early 80s when he was still a mechanic or something like that. Anyway … can’t wait to see AJ in Austin in September! Been a fan since junior high in the 1980s!
Can't say I have 1 special song. They are all # 1 to me. You are very unique and a very special part of everyone life. Your songs are so meaningful. Just so perfect. Thank you
Alan Jackson did this song Justice I don't like too many, remakes of the original song but he killed it Alan Jackson killed it and once I like the song personally original version it's like Whitney Houston singing I Will always Love you Dolly Parton was the killer of that Whitney killed it I'm out
