I'm a newcomer to them myself; such a great and vast catalogue to explore, and I must say, Alan whose name I always knew but had no idea what he looked like, is just one of the handsomest and sexiest musicians I have ever seen! He seems to have grown better looking as he matured
The Alan Parsons Project... The Project never played live during its career. 1975 to 1990. The only live performance where the band was introduced as "The Alan Parsons Project" was at Night of the Proms 1990 at the time of the group breakup. "Alan Parsons Live Project" is distinctly from "The Alan Parsons Project" due to the departure of Eric Woolfson.
Don't think sorry's easily said Don't try turning tables instead You've taken lots of chances before But I ain't gonna give anymore Don't ask me That's how it goes 'Cause part of me knows what you're thinking Don't say words you're gonna regret Don't let the fire rush to your head I've heard the accusation before And I ain't gonna take any more Believe me The sun in your eyes Made some of the lies worth believing I am the eye in the sky Looking at you I can read your mind I am the maker of rules Dealing with fools I can cheat you blind And I don't need to see any more to know that I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind Don't leave false illusion behind Don't cry, I ain't changing my mind So find another fool like before Cause I ain't gonna live anymore believing Some of the lies while all of the signs are deceiving I am the eye in the sky Looking at you I can read your mind I am the maker of rules Dealing with fools I can cheat you blind And I don't need to see anymore to know that I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind I am the eye in the sky Looking at you I can read your mind I am the maker of rules Dealing with fools I can cheat you blind And I don't need to see anymore to know that I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind
The original singer of "Eye in the Sky" was Parson''s partner so to speak, Eric Woolfson, he had already departed from 'The Project' to pursue a career in writing musical productions, he passed away a year after this concert from kidney cancer.
I just listened to the solos from this and the studio version of Sirius side by side. Other than the fact that whatever box he's using makes his tone similar to David Gilmour's distinctive sound, his solo sounds no more like Comfortably Numb than the studio version of Sirius does. The soloist here is pretty much playing the same notes that Ian Bairnson played on the studio cut.
El que se salte Sirius al oír Eye In The Sky o The Happiest Days Of Our Lives al oir Another Brick In The Wall Pt 2 merece morir, yo por lo menos no podría
Kind of reassuring to see that even AP himself can't keep the lyrics straight all the time. I always had trouble remembering which verse was which in this song -- like a lot of the APP songs, the verses are very similar with subtle changes, and it's easy to mix them up. I guess occasionally even the master goes sliding while the servants play. ;) Nonetheless -- awesomeness! Maybe their best live lineup that I've seen footage of, but perhaps for missing David Paton.
