~ Added 9th July 2012 ~ If you'd like to hear more words of wisdom from Teh Voice then check out this interview from January 2012 with The New York Times (over 1 hour long): • Alan Rickman 1 Hour In...
+Sydney Ringgold I keep going over interviews and looking at photos. I know it's probably unhealthy, but today I just can't tear myself away from the screen and have it register properly that he's gone. RIP Alan - you will definitely be missed.
No actor will ever talk as eloquently as Alan Rickman. You can tell he is a deep thinker and he really puts thought and effort into the roles he plays. He is definitely a legend 👏
He is so quiet and soft spoken. I love it. For the longest time, he wouldn't speak or interview about Snape and now that is it all over..he can talk about it and he is very calm about it and humble. Beautiful.
Yes. And I love how easily he sidesteps this woman's continuous attempts to get him to admit to the inside tip-off Jo gave him, meaning that Snape had been in-love w/ Lily. Using that play quote was a good try, I'll give her that. Very clever. He handled it w/ such grace & good humor, which I really enjoyed.
Watching this again, I'm reminded of something funny he said a couple of years ago on "The View". He said that whenever he picks up the phone, the person on the other end always asks, "Did I just wake you up?" He had a good laugh about that, how his voice makes him sound tired.
On a lazy evening all alone, all I want to listen to his longest possible interviews. No one ever had sexiest voice with those brilliantly measured answers. I love how cool, collected and utterly sophisticated he is and then he smiles and spins the world upside down. The man has got too much controls and how safely he handles it altogether, without seemingly so very cautious.
He's a potions master. It takes skills of cutting, right ingredients, right proportion , mixing and patience. I doubt Snape would have any issue cooking a badass meal.
@@Calcuttar If he ever had the means and desire to watch a muggle TV, something tells me that he would've been a big fan of Gordon Ramsey. (10/18/2021)
@@willowsverge3046 I mean, can't you just picture him, calling one of the students "an idiot sandwich", though, hopefully, not to their face? (11/7/2021)
@@daniellemusella1594 Priceless! thats the first thing i thought of! Lol Just the thought of snape calling a student a donkey got me into a fit of giggles too!
His voice is so deep and I could listen to his voice without getting bored. It’s so relaxing.😊 Nobody could replace Severus Snape.🤗 R.I.P Gone but never forgotten.🙏🥺
@@daniellemusella1594 well now dang girl! Youre making me get hungry and laugh at the same time! Lol I think he’d look cute with a bit of flour smudged on his face with an ever so slight grin…😏
@@willowsverge3046 Now, if Harry had seen THAT image during their lesson in "Order of the Phoenix", instead of, or along with, the memory he actually saw... (11/7/2021)
stupid cancer, took another great actor away!!! whyyyyy 😢😢😢 R.I.P Alan Rickman 😢 always a legend, die a legend 😢 may you and tour sexy British voice rest in peace old friend ❤ love you heaps alan...ALWAYS!!! gone but never forgotten 😢 rest easy!!
I loved how much he concentrated on finding his answers to fully put his thoughts across. He wasnt just fluffing through interviews. He truly wanted you to understand his take on things. He had such an ability to teach, focus on his work and totally embody his characters as they were written. What a true legacy he has left us! RIP dear sir!
@WillowSverge Imagine being in acting school. One morning, your professor says, "We're going to be having a guest lecturer today", and ALAN walks into the room seconds later. (11/7/2021)
@@daniellemusella1594 well, after they brought me back from a dead faint…….id be so thrilled just to hear him talk about how he crafted his characters to fit the story, but make them approachable as people as well. He did that with so many he played. Just made them real people off of a written word! It still amazes me how completely he achieved his craft. Acting is indebted to this fine gentleman.
Alan Rickman was and will be a legend, always. As long as we all keep him in our heart he will never truely die because legends never die unless you forget them. Alan, I hope you rest in peace and melt the angels in heaven with your voice that no words can discribe well enough 😔❤️
He's such a nice guy, & such a deep thinker, too. I'd love to have a discussion about certain literature & plays w/ him. And you know...I think it would be quite an enjoyable time.
Out all the characters in the series, Snape stood out as he is the best character ever. Better than Harry Potter. The reason why is Alan rickman wasn't acting as Snape, he was becoming Snape.
Thats not a good thing. Snape was a brave man, and did heroic things, but he was a bad person. Pure evil in terms of the way he treated his students. I wouldn't want anyone to turn into Snape.
SmasherBoy I'm interested in that. perhaps he wasn't the most ethically correct man. However he, in the books. Spared an awful lot of suffering and took it upon himself to endure such pain.
+SmasherBoy lol all he did was smack them over the head, snape is and always will be the best character in harry potter. His father abused him, then had the only thing he cared about (lilly) snatched away from him by his bully I could go on but you wouldn't understand.
He is actually talking about the actors not about the book.. but in the book Snape had to hold up appearances so that they wouldn't suspect him and he did. Of course you'll always wonder whether he felt any remorse for that but we'll never know .. I do think that Alan was a better actor than Daniel Radcliffe but honestly that is not that hard.. Personally latters performances have never really touched me as much as the character in the book has..!
It's too bad he never had children. He would have been a wonderful father and grandfather. I would have loved to meet him, just to have some good conversations. He was so highly intelligent and yet a generous sweet guy. RIP Alan.
@AmyP I know how you feel. I think so, too. Apparently, his wife, Rima, didn't want kids, and he loved her more than that concept. Though he put it aside in that particular sense, I feel like he used his innate tenderness in other ways. All the child actors talked about how helpful he was towards them, always ready to answer any questions they might've had, and he even showed up to many of their post-"Potter" jobs. In one now-famous story with Daniel Radcliffe, Alan actually cut short his vacation to go see him perform on Broadway. If he'd been alive when "Beauty and the Beast" came out, I have no doubt that he would've attended the premiere to support Emma Watson. ALWAYS the proud papa-bear. (2/19/2022)
I love how he wasn't acting as a character, his was the character. He totally could get into a character it would be like he wasn't even acting it was actually who he was 😔🙏🏻🙏🏻 R.I.P🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😘
Indeed he was! For those 8 movies of HP, Alan WAS Severus Snape....there wan no Alan when he was being Snape! So Severus Snape actually did live during all those movies because Alan gave him flesh and blood and soul. So yes, Severus Snape was a real person for that short, precious time,💕💞🥰😍❤️
He's such a humble and graceful man. He often pays tribute to his co-actors/actresses and I thought his line on being professional & focused onset to help Dan, Rupert and Emma was really admirable.
I can't explain how many hours of joy the Harry Potter series has given my family and I. A more complex character in literature or film as the one played by Alan Rickman/Severus Snape had me crying for hours after I closed the final chapter on the series. Snape is my favorite character in literature twisted, vile, jealous and doomed as he was all but for the flaw of choosing a path to life when he was to immature to really know who he was. I loved Alan Rickmans PERFECT portrayal and I am very sad to hear he has passed away. Bless him and his family. Thanks for the memories!!
One day, we will get Alan Rickman, Patrick Stewart and Morgan Freeman in the same scene, in the same movie, and it will be GLORIOUS. 2015 Edit: Guess not anymore...
i agree that he isnt frowning. he is thinking about the question so that he could give a thoughtful an reasonable answer. Alan Rickman is a freaking legend! I love Snape and I LOVE his voice! noone couldve played snape better than Alan Rickman!
I hear a lot of interviews for film premieres that are banal and featuring the same or painfully shallow and obnoxious questions, which made me nervous for an Alan Rickman interview, since he's so wonderful and intelligent, but this was an incredible interview with respect and thought put into it. Great to hear him speak. Rest In Peace, good sir.
Snape is and will always be my favorite character from Harry Potter franchise. And we were blessed coz Alan actually brought the essence of Snape to life through his acting n THAT VOICE 😍😍. RIP Mr. Rickman, you'll be missed....always. 😪
One interviewer said, l don't see you acting, and humble as he always is he said, well that's a great compliment. But it's true, he just slips into the person he's playing. That's why he is so versatile.
He is just awesome. I can't help myself. I could listen to his voice again and again and still I would be just as thunderstrucked as I was when I first heard it. Thank you for this video :)
Your charisma, talents, humour, and wisdom will be greatly missed by many, but will be remembered always and forever. Rest in Peace and Paradise Alan Rickman.
3:28 ~You wonder what he eats... LOL!! I really love that man!! An his voice... OHHh!! His voice!! I feel like I'm melting everytime i hear his voice... *-*
Wow, just for once a really great interview. It basically covers up a lot of questions I always had and he seems to feel quite comfortable as well which makes it very relaxing and at the same time interesting to listen to him. Wonderful, I'm grateful they finally did it.
