I hope they release the new Harry Potter HBO series as soon as possible and i saw am article it will be also 10 years production like movies and more true to books. IAM looking forward for it.
It absolutely blows my mind that this was recorded over 10 years ago. Harry Potter truly made my childhood and I'll be forever grateful to everyone involved.
I'm almost 32 and I'm still fascinated by everything about Harry Potter. I wish J.K. could know how much thankfull I am for all this magical world she's created. It's absolutely fantastic!
As beautiful as Emma is, her nervousness in the first two films gave her character the serious geekiness it needed that honestly kick-started alot of the films attraction.
I met Jk Rowling in a meet and greet/book signing after Philosopher’s Stone when I was very young. She told us then that the characters would grow up with us while we grew up. This comment has always stuck with me. It’s such a clever idea.
Ikr. I was 10 years old when the book came out. I'll be 34 in feb and still love watching the movies. I actually cosplay as Ginny and plan on doing the whole family too since im a ginger. What's funny? I share my birthday with Mr. Weasley
This is such a surreal conversation between an author and her main character come to life. Both had their lives elevated to the world stage from this literature and movie. So cool
@@MrJayArt Yes Jay. If you watch the video like everyone else, this is why her conversation with Daniel feels surreal because the line is blurred with Harry.
I am 58 years old and from the first time I read the first book I was and remain enchanted! This world Ms. Rowling created is to me so creative and "magical". I don't even know how many times I've read the series. I reread it nearly every year. I enjoy the movies, but I absolutely love the books. Thank you, Ms. Rowling so much!!
Thank you and how wonderful that I'm 55 and have exactly the same feeling about j.k Rowling and Potter series as yours. I'm grateful for her being there.
I've listened to them on audiobooks so many times .. I just love listening to them as I work .. they just make my day .. they take me up and down through emotions ❤
I'm a 33 year old teacher. My students are the same age as I was when I started reading the books, 10, 11 and I just bloody cried when Rowling mentioned that she always had hagrid carrying Harry the same way he brought him into the series. That is phenomenal
Once written a fantasy story for myself and I have to agree, even for a side-character, killing them making me have a guilt. Like, it just hurt/sad when you saw the scenario on your mind. _(I was really creative back then and just want to make my own story)_
I actually feel like I’m in the room having a conversation with them. Two truthful and genuine friends, I’m very grateful I get to see this conversation.
When Jo said: "It's been a place I could escape to." We all do felt that!💖 Wands up for this amazing author and a home creator this muggle world has. As well as Dan and the whole HP family for being so fantastic at bringing the words from books that Jo had written come to life! You're a great therapy to my every emotional and mental break down!🤘
why would you make a movie when you can make a tv series and never have to cut anything out because of time restraint? Harry potter should of been a series but it's all about the money and getting people into cinemas.
I started reading the series in 2001 when I was 20. Not on purpose- I was bored at work and grabbed the only book near me. Now I’m 40 and I’m still such a huge Potterhead.🧡 I want the memory wiping charm done on me and I want to read them all for the first time!✌🏼⚡️
The thing that makes HP so special is that kids usually start reading the books at around the age of 10, give or take. And from that point onwards, they grow up along with the characters. I did.
The way Daniel Radcliffe got casted was pretty cool. It reminded me of the fiasco Harry Potter had to go through to get his acceptance letter from Hogwarts. No matter how desperately Uncle Vernon tried to separate Harry from his wizarding roots, the universe (aka Dumbledore) was adamant about Harry fulfilling his destiny. I know there's a very simple, logical explanation for why Daniel kept running into the producers (his parents had connections to them and shared similar interests, plus they probably lived in the same area), but sometimes it's just nice to believe in magic.
When my son was in the 4th grader, he was having a problem in reading comprehension. After 4th grade that summer, I told him to start reading the Harry Potter series, and he did. From that moment, his love for reading flourishes. He loves it. Thank yo, JK Rowling. And I love the movies too. And the music, amazing.
One of the doctors in work lent me her book, telling me I just had to read them. I was hooked. Thank you JK for the times your books truly helped me cope with life’s trials.
After reading the final chapter of the deathly hollows I felt the exact same thing as J.K. Rowling. The door to my escape from my otherwise then sad and tragic life closed and I felt an overwhelming amount of grief. Which has gotten better and better over the years until the point where I understood the logic and felt the excitement of the Harry Potter world again.
Honestly, 6 year old me would also believe that. And I wish Hogwarts was real because, I just would love to actually go to a school with magic and as a 6 year old, you think the same thing! ☺️☺️
I wish I went to Hogwarts but I was just born a dumb muggle who never got to meet Draco and start a relationship with him and have kids and help fight you-know-who
Clicked on the video so fast just to hear J.K. Rowling speak.. Never heard her voice before. Regardless of the recent controversies, Thank you so much for writing one of the best written fictions of all time!
@Fuck You In the book, he went into it to look for clues to finding it, but not to get it. It was an easy cut to the movie to save building another set.
I love it when JK says "I have a real issue with someone keeping children from their own Imagination". That is so telling of what she has done here. The Yin/Yang symbol is exactly what she says that within the light there is always a bit of dark and within the dark, there is some light. There are absolutely not absolutes and I think that the books show that brilliantly. Well done.
@@snapplegu6100 by weirdo’s do you mean people who respect trans people? If you’ve read anything she’s posted on Twitter recently and you still use “friendly” or “brilliant” unironically to describe her, then you’re either blinded by Harry Potter nostalgia, or you’re also a transphobic POS
@@chloe7288 Yeah, and the most ironic part is that he even says that exact thing in this interview, (even saying he probably wouldn't be an actor) but would probably never admit it now.
@@pulpficti why do you think she HATES people? Reading her own words on the matter does not make me think this one bit. Can you share what gave you the confidence to claim this?
@@pulpficti Pretty sure it makes sense not to want to share spaces who openly hurl abuse at you. The Ts should have their legal protections stripped. Hold them to the same standard everyone else has to live by. JKR's problem is that she's too tolerant of harmful people. Tolerance is what got us here. It stops when we accept that men are men and women are women despite what they "identify" as. You want to play make believe, go ahead it's a free country. Just leave everyone else out of your fantasy. We do not consent.
Every time I come back to this video, I can't help myself from watching it all the way through without skipping a second. Such naturally flowing conservation between two brilliant people...
When Daniel said that Alan flew in from Canada to support him, it reminded me that Alan said in an interview why he liked Canada so much. First, he liked America for the theme parks, but airports still reminded him a bit of England. But if he were in an airport in Canada, and he stumbled and fell down, then nobody said anything rude, bc he was very clumsy. But in England if you tripped and fell, then no one helped you up; they just glared at you like you were some lunatic. Thus, he loved Canada. It’s great hearing that he was clumsy, bc I am as well and know many people who are the same.
@@austentrue7807 Really? Are people really like that in England... glaring at you when you trip up. Jeez, I'm from England and I didn't realise how cold we can be sometimes.
21:49, "Children from virtually every walk of life would like to go to Hogwarts" "Absolutely, I still would." Says the one person who got closer than any other child to actually getting to go to Hogwarts.
We still have the magic of wondering about it tho, he got to pretend he was there but it was mainly sfx... Still would love to have been in the films 😂😂
We got to experience that magic as a final product in the form of books and films. He helped hold up the smoke and mirrors. In a way, he was deprived of some of that magic rather than closer to it.
On "Fate." I am 75-years old going on 76, and for me, 'fate' is not just a word, but a reality. For when I look back at the sum of my life, I now know that the plot of our lives has already been written, we just don't know the ending.
@@catguy4996 she literally said that her plan always was that hagrid will hold harrys "dead" body in the last book thats why hagrid was always safe from getting killed and why harry would never have died.
To think all this came from one person's imagination is mindboggling. A most interesting person whom I would like to know everything about. What a wonderful world.
I was 9 when Philosopher's stone came out. I went to opening day with my 3rd grade teacher. I still thank her so much to this day for introducing me to Harry Potter.
Daniel Radcliffe - Dumbledore to Harry: “Dark and difficult times lie ahead. Soon, we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy.” You sir, certainly chose the easy way.
I love how she gives extensive thought on the complexities of each character's circumstance. The part about the realities of war and her reason on why Lupin had to go is so profound.
Imagine sitting across from someone who became the person you always dreamed of, wrote about, thought about and watched in your imagination and then watching the movies. She seems both concerned and protective like he really is her son. And in awe at her magical creation come to life on screen.
Thats funny, watching this I literally thought "they're so natural with conversing like my aunt and I" . I love how genuinely friendly and excited they both are too talk to each other
I graduated high school the year after the last movie came out, and had been a fan of the Harry Potter books since the age of 10. I was a really avid reader throughout my childhood and adolescence, and each successive Harry Potter book and movie felt like a chapter in my life. The last movie they all were growing up and I was turning 18 soon and looking at colleges or community college and trying to find a job. Felt like I grew up with Harry, Ron and Hermione. Thank You J.K Rowling and the entire cast and crew of the Harry Potter films. 🙏🏾♥️
at this point I don't even know how many times I have read harry potter books and watched the movies. I am beyond grateful for HP world and I still find it a beautiful scape world whenever I am stressed. Thank you so much JKR for what you created and thank you to all cast and crew who gave words life 🤍
As a budding author, I can't say how much I appreciate her loyalty to her readers and how involved she was in the movies. That's exactly how I would want things to go if and when my works are made into film. Thank you Rowling!
That part in particular has always stood out to me...it seem fitting that Hagrid was the one to carry Harry when he was the one who carried him out of the broke house in Godrics Hollow and the one who was his first interaction in the wizarding world.. always tear up when I read that part and get goose bumps when Harry pops up and DESTROYS moldy voldy (who said that Pottheads?)
I can never get tired of these Harry Potter and Wizarding World documentaries! 🤩🤩🤩 This fascinating conversation between Jo Rowling and Danielle Radcliffe is interesting and very sweet. 🤗
@@bobthebuilder243 welp, you've changed my mind, let's allow every man who identifies as a woman into women-only spaces. more women may get assaulted or worse but at least they're not shit :)

@@Geffi01 No. That would be stirring the pot. He, Rupert, and Emma all betrayed her. She who gave them an opportunity to put food on their tables. They're ungrateful.
I've heard that they had sorta decided on another actress and then Emma auditioned... and got the part. So, if true, there's a 30 year old woman who might not know how close she came to being world-famous.
Finally someone gets me I wish I can just wipe my whole Harry Potter memory and only remember the fact that I loved it and. The characters names of course just so I can read and watch the films all over again and being so shocked at all the plot twists
