Great flight as always Alan! Sorry about that blade grab at the end. Thanks for sharing and for showing us you're human after all. This happens to all of us and a lot less often to you than any of us! lol As always Alan, I hope that you and your lovely Wife, Mom & Danny are all doing well at probably the Craziest time in my 54 year life. Praying that You and your Family are all Safe. Stay Healthy Alan. ❤🙏🙏🙏🙏❤
They are really trying hard to convince us though, with the whole faked stick cam and then programming it to crash at the end. Nice try Align, we see what your doing
Every once in awhile the weight of the problems in the world make it jump up at you a couple of inches. You are still a legend. Keep flying and I'll see you in the air.
Another brilliant flight mister! Thanks for sharing and sorry about for your loss. I love building them but the rebuild is never as much fun :( Always love watching your flights!
Me too, I was a little disappointed. When I crashed my Align 600n back in the day it was my fault because it was getting dark and wanted to show my cousin, so I took my lipo that runs all the elctronics off charge early.... I thought it had enough for a few minute flight, about 1.5 minutes later as I was flying an inverted hurricane, all of a sudden I had no control, at that moment my heart stopped pumping and in the blink of an eye it was on the ground doing the "chicken dance" at wide open throttle because when it crashed it broke the throttle arm and went full open, so I'm now running over to the heli and it finally stops just as I get there, still wide open screaming just laying there I went to pull the fuel line and the clutch housing EXPLODED in my face, it hurt but the tears were from crashing not the red hot metal embedded in my face 😏😋 It was about a $750 crash because it even broke my custom made carbon fiber frame. I repaired it and put it in again my next time out with it, I was super high up and was falling tail first doing a massive tail slide and I dumb thumbed it because I was nervous from just crashing it. Lmao only 2 times I crashed in the 6 years I flew helis.
What I love about Alan's style is that if you showed it to a layperson, they wouldn't think that he was just constantly saving the heli from near disaster. This is not true of most 'smack' pilots lol...like Tareq. I love his flying too, but it's kind of a heli guy style and not a 'standalone cool' style. Nice flight, Alan!
My first 10-30 seconds of seeing 3D RC heli flying confounded me exactly like this. I thought the pilot was already in disaster mode and crashing but when it didn't hit the ground for too long, I was like..."what? Is this flying?" and spent the next several hours understanding collective pitch.
I saw crash in the title and I was not looking forward to what was going to happen. That's my fav Heli :) That wasn't too bad though. Easy fix! Nice flying! Quick on the throttle hold too!
I've watched a shit ton of your videos and I'm nearly positive you were trying to cut the grass on purpose! Nicely done sir. Even with the oopsie daisies.
I love it when you hover low inverted like that but dang, deep down I knew the odds would catch up. Almost like Dale Earnhardt’s crash “It didn’t look that bad”. I also have a magnet in my backyard just like that spot at Bennett field. 😉
He's a master. When he crashes it's not a big deal. It seems to have been very small damage... some gears stripped, shafts bent, maybe some dents on blades and that's it. Many of the times I crashed, almost had to rebuild the whole heli
hi Alan! nice going with the heli's man you really are good, i was wondering how did you start with them? did you start with a sim on pc and so wich do you recommend? i love rc heli's aswell! i'd love to hear from u or any other guy in the comments! keep up the good work
I know this is a old post but if you are still looking into flying, i would advise you 100% to start with a sim. Something like RealFlight, Phoenix etc. Once you get comfortable on the sim then start with like a 450 sized heli so the sound doesn't intimidate you. I have been flying for about 10 + years and the sim has took me to the next level. Good luck.
