I don't recall Juji being a tire flipping expert or claiming to be. What's the deal? If Juji were to do this, I'd make sure the tire size and weight were as close to Alan's as possible. Tire height would be a big factor even if they weigh the same.
Alan, sorry to hear about your 800 lb tire. I offer my condolences to your ego. On another note, I think your brother would win a competition of ice cream eating since no beard would inhibit his performance. Also, add more of your brother to your videos cuz he's hilarious.
A few problems..... getting the concrete to equally disperse.... the concrete would start breaking very quickly. One solution I found was to put 8 x 3/4" carriage bolts in, and add evenly distributed weight plates on the inside. My 330lb tire is now a 700lb tire as a result, and can be adjusted to variable weights. the grade 8 bolts have held up nicely for 2 years.
Alan I hope you read this, great video man I watched it three times instead of the usual once. Funny, informational and great editing. You are an inspiration and I’d love to visit your gym one day from the uk 👍🏻
If I ever meet jujimufu and alan thrall at the same time I will cry, I don't care how big and strong am I going to be by then, i will cry. Fucking legends.
I have always enjoyed watching you videos but another thing I love seeing you slowly start introducing new editing styles. You're definitely growing with your channel man and it is great to see. Keep it up!!
You should call out Dairyland to max out on the behind the back, one arm, reverse band, deficit rack pull with straps and standing one legged on a bosu.
well, they could potentially. Larger hole in relation to the amount of rubber and density of the rubber play a role. A smaller tractor tire with much thicker walls will weigh similar or more than a thinner walled larger tire. Also dimensions of the tire affect the perceived weight, a larger diameter tire with a narrow width will feel much heavier than an equal weight tire that is as wide as it's diameter.
As long as we're getting into thw science of things I'm calling B.S. on the accuracy of a truck weigh in station. I mean how accurate can a scale that weighs 10s of thousands of pounds actually be
Pretty accurate. Commercial scale accuracy is in someone's interest as they are used to buy and sell materials and goods. They must be inspected and certified every year, typically by the state's Department of Agriculture. In the US the standard is +/- 2%. Many scales are accurate within half that. Keeping the scales clean of mud, debris, etc. is likely the biggest cause of error.
@@stevenmuncy491 A commerce scale at a shipping receiving hub as opposed to what they used, a truck weigh in scale. Pretty sure the government isn't as up on the 2%+/- accuracy as a business would be. I'm just not buying it for accuracy on something that is calibrated to weigh things upwards to 80,000 lbs. (I even wonder about placement on the scale. Any scale I've ever used gave different readings when said object was near or on the edge)
To people that are good at physics/geometry what is the highest percentage of weight that a person flipping a tire will carry at one point in the entire flip? (I.e. obviously a person flipping a 1000 lbs tire is never actually lifting a 1000 lbs)
I think on one of Juji and Tom's vids a while back they said they'd reached out to Alan multiple times but he just refused the collab. I like to think the reason is purely logistical and to do with time scales rather than anything else. Alan's humour seems very similar to Juji's in many ways with the skits and the 'anti-industry' vibe. Juji's strongman game seems to be improving too so could be a perfect time for a collab if their schedule permits. I very much enjoy both channels, hence why I'm here really.
I recall the same, in one video Juji mentions that Alan "..is cool as shit". He invited him, "my dime, your time". In the comments section of a later Juji video, responding to a fan inquiry, Juji mentioned that Alan responded in a "short" manner and wasn't interested. I didn't get the feeling that Alan likes Juji for some reason.
nTOMnia yeah, maybe he just doesn't like juji. Hell, I don't really like Juji. Probably a good guy. Seems ok. Fun loving. Not too full of himself. Just doesn't hit my "entertained" nerve. I rarely make it to the end of a video. It's ok though. Everything doesn't have to be for me.
I remember a long time ago Svend Karlsen said that the tire weight are always inflated and nobody weighs them, they just make up some number that sounds cool more or less. They are always very worn out. When Caron flipped the 1.350lbs tire, you can see the tire is actually taller than him, and it is new of course. And this guessing of weight is often not just on the tires....
Hilarious video, Alan. I feel your pain, as I experienced this on a much smaller scale. After Covid started, I set up a home gym and bought a 300 lb Olympic weight set. Started working out, and realized I was lifting more than I had at the gym. After I got done struttin' around the house marveling at how massive and ripped I was getting with my new setup, I weighed my cheap, Chinese bar. You can imagine my chagrin when I realized my "45 lb" (aren't they all standardized?!) Olympic bar weighed 37 lbs. Crap!! I now feel buffed enough to help my wife change the tire on her Civic....
Although the weight of the tire is important often times it’s the tread that determines the real difficulty. I’ve flipped 750 pound tires with great tread that are easier than 400 pound tires that are slick with no grip.
@Joshua Ciardelli flipping truck tires is easier than flipping them up into the bed of a truck. Try lifting a 455/55r22.5 with a steel rim into a chevy 2500 lol
No guys what the op was saying is that the guy at the scales was going to give them his 1k lb tire for free because he would have to pay to get it recycled as opposed to them just taking it. The scale should have been free anyway in my opinion though as well.
