I have always loved this song. I truly believe it could have been a single and done well on radio. She was clearly having some kind of FATAL ATTRACTION moment during her life, in order to write such a song like this. I love the honesty of her lyrics, and the slight inside look of her life. She reveals. Had a guy written this song or a song such as this, and performed it, it would have made him look like a stalker at one point in his life. What all truly went down in her life in her early years must have been some badass shit. She was around so many older men at such a very young age. Even before her first pop album was released here in Canada when she was about 14, she was around and alone with older male singers, musicians. Being so young as she was then and very impressionable as most of us were and are in our adolescence I can only imagine the stuff she encountered.
I grew up (born in 90) loving her. I had a roommate many years later that was a few years older and told me about these "hidden" songs on CD's. I'm so envious of those years and so thankful for this song.
These end of LP, cassette tape, and CD tracks were just extra gifts the artists gave to fans. They were so appreciated and exiciting then, but looking back now, they're such rare and beautiful memories because we don't get them anymore.
I love her voice SOOOO much!! One of my all time favorite artists. I wish she would keep this song solo. The booming acoustics of her voice, the rawness and solitude....it brings value and emotion to the song. Like it is on the bonus track. You can literally lose yourself in the song and feel it. When they throw the light guitar in, I feel robbed somehow. Its distracting.
