VyOS is an open-source, community-driven fully functional router and firewall platform widely used in cloud deployments. In this Tech-Talk Date Huang, Solutions Architect at VyOS networks, gives a brief overview of VyOS and its functionalities. The main part of his talk focuses on the topic of provisioning VyOS with Kubernetes. Suppose you have several VyOS VMs that provide different services for internal teams or external services. In this case, you want an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) way to manage VyOS VM instances. Kubernetes offers a good approach to address this need and serves as a platform for IaC. The talk shows how to provision VyOS in Kubernetes and use ConfigMap to achieve this goal.
