Alaska is the ultimate spot for adventure in the United States. The state is massive and has so much to explore ranging from backcountry adventures and wildlife to large towns and great restaurants. We took 8 days to explore the state and to drive from Anchorage to Denali to Fairbanks and back. Along the way we had some bucket list adventures like hiking in Denali, exploring a glacier, seeing the Into the Wild movie bus, and soaking in hot springs. Here is the full 8-day adventure and thanks so much for watching it! Let me know what you think in the comments. Alaska is amazing and I cannot wait to go back.

Three years in the Klondike by Jeremiah Lynch - amzn.to/3kKH0q2
"Also good but more focused on the Canadian area during the gold rush."

Thank you from an old lady who always dreamed of this journey, but due to several issues will probably never make it in person. But I now feel like I have taken this trip with you! You two are blessed to have each other and I am happy for you! I initially thought I will never be able to sit for two hours but I was so engaged that it was over way to soon! Expensive tour filmmakers couldn't do it better. This is the best video I've ever seen of Alaska, and I've seen many. And it's extensive - It's not a 5-minute flyover, showing you just enough to wet your appetite. Rather, it's a thorough, well-filmed and well-narrated documentary film that shows the viewer some of the best that Alaska has to offer.

My senior trip with my Dad was 11 days of Alaska/Yukon. He finally moved there a couple years later. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it out there while he lived there. He had moved back to Montana a few years after due to his condition. I lost him this last December, and I just wanted to say I am only a fraction in to you video, but I am beyond grateful for you making it. At first I was not sure I would make it the full 2 hours, but am very much looking forward to it. Seeing you and your dad on this adventure brought back so many memories of my adventure with my dad. We will be taking my kids up this Summer to spread PopPop's ashes. I am excited to check out some of your stops with our family to honor my Pops. Maybe the fact that you also call your dad Pops is what has me in tears, but they are happy tears. Thank you so much for this video!

Those are some of the best memories I have of my dad and I. Sadly he passed away in 1995 but I still hold those memories close to my heart. It’s so wonderful to see you creating this memories and experiencing such wonderful adventures with your dad. I think I’m going to convince my friend do to this trip with me. Alaska is a "dirty, mean, watch your back" place. Lots of fugitives on the run, lots of crime, lots of people that left the lower 48 for a reason, don't want to work, just camp out in parks and "borrow from others". Carry a sidearm at all times, and not just for the 4 legged animals.

I visited there back in 2000. I made 3 friends from different places around the world. We all pitched in to buy a car, and we drove to Denali and slept on a glacier, and then drove to Deadhorse. We slept on the tundra x2 nights. The whole trip took 4 days there, and 3 days back. And we went through 6 tires. LOL We roughed it as much as we could to get the best full experience. We even slept under a huge tarp that covered the car. It was like a giant car tent that allowed us to get in and out without difficulties, and kept the mosquitoes out. You can do it comfortably, and easy, or comfortably and difficult. And it was still a lot of fun, and I will remember it for the rest of my life.

I feel like I've taken that journey thanks to you and your dad. You did pretty well on the pronouniations by the way. Thanks for keeping the music in the background where it belongs and was hardly noticed. We don't hear music in real life so I don't know why people even put it in. Sometimes the music overrides the magic. Going to follow you from now on and can't wait to get started.

Ya'll did the tourist route of Alaska. I lived in the interior for 16 years and there's so much more to see especially if you're adventurous enough to do some wilderness travel. I myself have done 2, 800 mile canoe trips into the interior 400 miles from any roads. When you were in Seward you could have grabbed a ferry and put your car on it and it will take you to Kodiak Island where you can drive around the island If you had enough time to travel around the Kenai Peninsula towards Katchemak Bay you could have stopped at clam gulch to dig Razor Clams. If you had outdoor equipment go to the Kenai National Moose Range and do the Canoe portage route where you can get some real good Rainbow Trout fishing in if you get back in about 6 lakes or so. Bring your own canoe or rent one from an outfitter. Bring a rifle for bear protection.

I just want you to know I am your biggest fan! I just wish that I had time to travel with my father like you do !!! I’m living vicariously through you guys.and it really makes me feel happy! Unfortunately I lost my father when I was 23 years old . I really like your videos and I hope to see more. Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication and your addiction to donuts is hysterical. They all look delicious!!! I’ve never wanted to go to Texas until I saw your video actually and now I think I really need some good barbecue ribs!

This was THE best 'non-professionally produced' video that I've seen on visiting Alaska-- also a 'bucket list' item for me... I can't say I'm not envious-- of the fact that you actually went on this trip, as well as the fact that you were able to go with your dad... I stumbled on your YT channel, and subbed off of this video. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us, and wetting my appetite for my own trip!

I have lived in Anchorage Alaska since 1971! One day in 1985, I was entering the building to see my Dr. When I looked north and saw Mt Denali! I tripped on the steps and fell down! That was an amazing sight. That was the first time I had seen Denali from Anchorage!

Thanks for a beautiful walk back in time for me. My Dad, an Army officer, was stationed at Ft Richardson in early ‘50’s. We loved his tour in Alaska. Just keep your head up at all times. Alaska is a "dirty, mean, watch your back" place. It as as large as 1/3 of the lower 48 with limited police. It has it's natural beauty and wildlife- don't get me wrong. Lots of other things also at all places at all times - even in Denali, even in the wilderness, especially in the villages (you don't want to know what goes on there). Lots of fugitives on the run, lots of crime, lots of people that left the lower 48 for a reason, don't want to work, just camp out in parks and "borrow from others", mental illness, etc. Carry a sidearm at all times, and not just for the 4 legged animals.

Thank you Josh and Pops, what a great trip! Stuck here in Hong Kong with international travel effectively impossible for past two years due to strict 21 day quarantine policy upon any return. So it's great to travel vicariously with you both through your videos, which I accidentally stumbled on with your Route 66 road trip. When I first moved to HK 30 years ago I flew back to States to visit Grand Canyon in Winter, which was awesome. Back then planes couldn't make it from HKG to LAX without stopping to refuel, so plane stopped in Anchorage on the way. Was there for 3 hrs of cold, dim daylight but swore would stop by the next Summer to explore Alaska on the next trip. But by then the planes were more fuel efficient and had expanded tanks so the flights became non-stop, by-passing Alaska and so I never got back there...thanks for helping me see all that I had missed! Wish you and all my fellow viewers a happy and healthy 2022. Ian W.

Thank you for Great memories of Alaska, Was in the USGC station on a buoy tender out of Ketchikan. (1982 - 1984). Travel the inside passage up to Juneau. Then to the glacier Bay. Yes, I remember when I first went to Ketchikan and it was 10:30 PM and the sun was still high in the sky and did not set until midnight or so. Then did the cruise with my brother and friends to Alaska, what stops in Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Valdez, and caught the train to Anchorage. Then did a bus trip to Denali. Which then I don’t remember doing a midnight ride on a four wheeler up in the hills and enjoying the beauty of Alaska. Thank you for refreshing my memory of all the things I’ve seen! Yes, remember the bus ride through Denali! Thank you again Patrick Sebastopol,CA.
