Will miss VX and their interior, but I can understand the need for consistency across Alaska's fleet, at least the replacement is still quite good by current standards.

So sad they are going to get rid of the Virgin America set up. Wish Virgin America still flies to this day.

Agree! I love the interior on these jets, and the seats are really comfortable, unlike more modern slimline seats. However, I realize not everyone is a fan of the purple mood lighting...

Flying from SFO to ORD first class in May. From the UK so first time with Alaska Airlines. On the website, plane is still coded as the 8 seater configuration so looking forward to this a lot.

♥️ love these seats, fingers crossed they keep the long haul configured Airbuses all the way through 2019. Also 6:55 I think you mean 3 windows. And 13:35 don’t hold your hopes up for that, Alaska has some of the best FAs like you had on this flight but just like any other airline, has some snobby ones aswell. Either way sweet video of my favorite thing ever.

Enjoyed the video immensely!! I so miss VX! I used to fly them LAX to SFO many times. For $75 one could upgrade to first class, which I always did when available! 😂 They even served a small snack on the hour long flight! I miss those days! 😭

This Virgin America A320 operated a FLL/SFO Transcontinental Flight second to none at the time in First Class. Better than any of the three Legacy Carriers, United, American, Delta any day. It's a shame Air Alaska MEDIOCRITY IN THE AIR took over this routes.

Not all first class customers get access to the lounge. I tried to get in to the lounge at LAX, and the desk attendant said anyone on a upgraded fare will not be allowed in. In other words U Class, even if you paid to upgrade to first.

I flew on one of those plane, I paid for an upgrade to just behind the smoky plexiglass, which was a total waste of money since the flight wasn't even half filled and I could have had an entire row to myself without paying any more. The whole interior feels cheesy, especially the divider. I couldn't see a thing through it. My seat allowed me a free adult beverage, but it is hard to get excited about that at midnight, and the FA didn't really point out the benefit either. The first thing out of the FA's mouth when she came by my seat was if I wanted to buy some food. I found that a bit odd. I think that food for sale is downplayed on most flights by the cabin crew because they don't want to be bothered, I could be wrong on that though. I did like the snack bar they gave for free. Can you give a link to the menu that you can pre-order?
