Come along as Travis Wetherelt, the winner of this year's Alaska Airmen's Association C-180 Raffle winner is joined by Jon "Jughead" Counsell, as they take his prize airplane home to North Dakota. A three day journey through the mountains of Alaska, The Canadian Rockies and the Plains of Alberta and Saskatchewan, before arriving at the wind-sept plains of Williston, ND. We'' explore an old RCAF base. Sleep under the stars, take in some hockey and enjoy all the great capabilities and modifications to this one-of-a-kind aircraft.

Thanks for the effort to capture the journey from raffle to its new home. So often we get to see the build and see (maybe) the giveaway. But never do I recall a nice video series commemorating the flight home. I really enjoyed riding along. AOPA could sure take this as an example of what to offer its members for the annual plane giveaway also.

Jon I've never seen you tell now I only saw a few sightings of your 170 in back country's videos where he referred to you as jug head and not knowing this was you. That was a very good video Travis looks great with his 180 ,sounds like he has mastered the 180 solo now. Great video

Great video. Surprised to see a ND pilot as the winner. Just one correction, D60 is Tioga ND not Tigard. I live 25 miles east of there at Stanley, 08D.

That looked like an awesome trip. Good job on the videos. How were you able to get into Canada with the border shut down for Covid?

Aviation is considered essential. So if you are moving an airplane it is allowed. Recreational flights into Canada are not allowed.

Hey Jughead, Have you ever flown with the Avidyne system? Two touches to get to the page you want is a good feature.

I have not flown with Avidyne no. I will have to take a look at them when I get a chance.

Neither have I but have attended a couple webinars and watch Baronpilot with his avidynes. Seems like a pretty intuitive system but it is pricey. Did I hear you right in one of your podcast that you went through AF flight training in 2008 at Sheppard?
