Roboturner was a song that never really stood out to me for some reason, but then I saw them play it live and was like...alright, I get it. One of my favorites now.
This is the best of their old sound. They went full prog-metal with the album Colors. One of the greatest albums of all time. Looking forward to your reaction to it.
Just watched. Hard agree. This album is definitely their best as far as their straight up metalcore sound goes. Such a banger and the riffs are absolutely insane. By the way I'd recommend skipping The Anatomy Of, since it's just a cover album. There's no original tracks on it
This albums sucks just mimicking various styles from black to death to metal core , with sweeps and they say its the best this band is like having a son you never wanted
Came from the Colors II reaction and can tell you enjoyed this one a bit more. Colors II is an absolute masterpiece, but I have been listening to this band since 2003, and it is most definitely a journey, but you said it best during The Primer, “I love how these grooves come out of nowhere”, that explains the best part of this band! Excited to see more reactions of this band to see how you adapt. Colors, The Great Misdirect, and the Parallax albums are the next step for sure. Parallax 2 is a straight 73 minute album, no breaks, it is an unreal journey… don’t even listen as songs, listen as one big song and treat it as such, it will blow your mind! On another note, might I recommend giving The Contortionist a listen, Language and Clairvoyent albums should be listened to back to back. There is a very deep story behind the 2 albums that make them that much more enjoyable to listen to but I feel like you would enjoy them! Appreciate the reactions man, keep it up! Edit: Just went through your videos and saw you already went through The Contortionist, guess I know what I am watching next, and Tesseract! Ok, a new suggestion then and you will not be disappointed, Periphery IV and/or Periphary III. Periphary IV is game changer in the world of music, first song is 17 minutes long… cannot go wrong haha
Everything from Alaska to Coma Ecliptic are truly amazing albums. After this album they begin to write alot of their material as one piece instead of the harsh transitions and fadeouts like you have here. Im glad you appriciate this band and are taking the time to go through their discog properly. The Anatomy of is next in order and I recommend listening to it to hear their influences and how different or spot on certain covers are, if not here at least on your own time. I can tell you actually enjoyed this album although its a first listen I was slightly suprised by your choosing Backwards Marathon as a favorite as opposed to Selkies but you really can't go wrong with either track. Can't wait for the next one
Alaska is amazing, great mix of heavy crazy melodic shit. You should watch the live dvd for colors, or do the live audio for colors. For me, it's the best version
Too late now, but should have checked out the 2020 remix/remaster. Victory Records supposedly reamped the geets/changed their original master so they fixed it 👌🏻
