Love your videos! We live on our boat and we took the last 6 months traveling through the US. We are off to the Bahamas for 6 months in a few days. We love following your journey. We have 2 kids, 4 and 6. They love our nomadic life!

Jason & Nikki, you two make such sound, logical decisions. I genuinely admire that about you! Yet you still remain adventurous. There are so many of us who are living the adventure right along with you. Thanks for gleaning this footage!

Great video! Haines & Skagway are both worth the trip. I was hired by the Forest Service to photograph the interior of the John Muir cabin he built in Skagway. He was a short man & the ceiling was under 6 feet high. I spent 3-4 days on a mechanic's creeper photographing the newspapers glued to the ceiling. (Skagway means "great wind" in Tlingit, if I remember right.) He covered the walls in newspaper to block the wind coming through the cracks between the logs that made up his cabin walls. Haines has the worlds largest concentration of bald eagles. They feed on the winter salmon runs in the Chilkat & Chilkoot rivers. Fun to watch em fight over a dead fish. I haven't been there in over 25 years. I miss it so much sometimes.

We were there in 2014, a bit earlier in the year. Hyder and the bears were one of the highlights of our 4-month trip. I recommend it. Also camped and did some fishing along the Cassiar. And Jade City was kind of tacky fun.

I just wanted to let you know how much fun I had traveling along with you this past summer. Through your videos, newsletter and website you gave us armchair travellers lots of great information and so many laughs and smiles. Makes me kinda sad, even though I know you're only a few hundred miles south of me in the Southern California desert. Hope you have enjoyed your stay here in beautiful California!

I like your videos because you drive a Motor Home as we do. Most of the other videos are trailers, and it is not the same. We tow an 85 Samari and it is a perfect little vehicle, it is rugged and strong and we can go 4-wheeling in it.

I have followed your vids for awhile now and totally enjoy them. This one did bring back memories as I was in Hyder and Steward many years ago on my way back from camping in Alaska. I can remember my response to Canadian customs when asked "Bringing any alcohol back with you", I said "no only what is inside me". at that time Hyder has the highest number of bars per capita than anywhere in the USA and I had visited as many of the bars I could safely.

Just in case, there are several very close 2nd's lol, you two boarding through the glaciers etc..... You guys made Alaska a must do once we get started. We could sense some sorry you guys not wanted to go but I'm sure we'll all enjoy the next chapter. Anyway, thank you very again for sharing.

I had to skip forward to Stewart and Hyder. A lot has changed in 20+ years. Back in the day I worked a weir for fish and wild life USFS counting and recording fish runs. We walked that creek daily (in waders down the middle of it) to count dead fish and bears. As I write this I can look up to see the photo on my office wall of the big cinnamon brown bear that loved to do her daily shopping just below the weir. Some folks do not know that Alaska Salmon make one spawn run in their life and then die, where as Atlantic Salmon will spawn several times in their life span. Fish creek only had one bear look out and now it looks as it has a whole board walk. There used to be a sign at the "boarder" That read "We are not snowed in. YOU are snowed OUT!" I think I may have to pack up and make a visit. I loved the folks there.

You could have saved yourself 2,000 miles of driving and spent 4 weeks in the Hyder AK area and got the full Alaska experience. It's a wonderful area without the mobs of people. You only touched the Hyder area. The Salmon Glacier is the second largest glacier in Canada. You should have gone out and explored it. Awesome area when the bears are in. You missed that by about 2-3 weeks. Is the Cassiar paved throughout:?

I realize in a world ruled by daily vloggers (which we are not) it can be hard to watch stuff that seems old...but three months ago wasn't that long ago. :) At least that's what I keep telling myself. -nikki
