I am faschinated how people can recognize nuances within accents. For me english is not a native language, so I can recognize maybe just some of the most "loud" accents, for example british, scottish, maybe a bit of new zealand, those ones. But everything else, especially within North America, to me is just "english is english". So I always get very faschinated to see comments and treads, where people discuss accents and how they fit/ruined shows/characters, because they have a background to compare with, something they grew up with. It's kinda cool :)
Yes, Alastor is Cajun, but his accent is specifically trans Atlantic (iirc). An accent used commonly by sports announcers and such around the time Alastor was alive.
Not only did i FINALLY realize that Oogie Boogie actually says "santa claus" in the middle of the song instead of "sandy claws", but OH MY GOD IS SANTA CLAUS SIR PENTIOUS
Brilliant Cover! Very fitting for Alastor I know that there are many fragments where the voice is broken, but in those moments I imagine that it is simply his "radio interference"
Especially the deeper parts? It feels like his voice is glitching. Also- "It's much more fun, I must confess, with lives on the line..~ Not mine, of course, but yours? Oh boy, now that'd _be just fine..~_ " Al, I don't wanna gamble with you EVER again😦
Despite it feeling a bit off in some ways, it's very "slipping of the mask"; what we've not seen in the pilot, but surely very there. Further more, much of Oogie Boogie was base'd on the singer Cab Calloway, whom would've been very prominent in Alaster's time-theme. Love that guy. Subversive to see him on Sesame Street when I connect him so strongly to Old Man of the Mountain stuff like this.
Fascinating. While the overall tone fits Alastor, some of Oogie's turns of phrase don't fit Alastor's character. It would actually be fun, trying to figure out why.
Oh but how fun to go thru, line by line, idea by idea, decideing what does, what doesn't and what else to use. This could *Easily* be an Obsession@@C1pherfalls

@@thecockdepartment2543 To be fair, there is plenty of voice lines as Alastor from Ed Bosco, that he says on HuniCast streams. I wonder, if those too were used to feed the AI, or if everyone just used what was in the pilot episode
