Michael Angelo is known by his work, words are not needed to describe his work, and indeed words cannot. Same way here ABros are masters, and easily there is no parallel through the times. They are so great as in this rendering by themselves, the idea of comparing does not enter one's mind. Just Great and Heavenly, and such great confidence in their singing. Thanks for putting it up.
a great musical treat. I was a school boy when the stalwarts were singing at their prime. My mother usual takes me to the concerts in and around Cochin. I still remember the scintillating performance at SRV School for the Sree Rama Navami Festival. The pleasure and happiness in hearing them after such a long time is immense. Thank you for uploading the rare performance
I recall with nostalgic pleasure my experience of traveling with Alathur brothers in a four-berth first-class sleeper from Trichy to Madras sometime during June 1963 and listening with pleasure the soft Karaharapriya alapana for nearly an hour form this great pair of musicians. Am I blessed or what? Most gratefully, Angarai Sundararajan, Norman, Oklahoma.
Cakkanirsja in gharaharapriya is packed with more sangathies than other compositions in carnatic music and the same should be more melodious when sing in vilampithakal in rantukala chaukam. When my teacher Vijayarajan Master, Fortcochin close front of TKGovindarao, teaches this keerthana each sangathee that itself feels like a fullfleded keerthana. Guru Thyagaraja still lives in this keerthana and in my heart ............................................K.K.Joshy, Rgasandesh, Vallarpadam, Cochin
A fine audio and a very good example of why the great Alathur Brothers were held in such high esteem, and even now given a very special place in Carnatic music. The distinct sound of Musore Sri. Chowdiah's seven stringed violin can be heard; so it seems the photo shown here is from a different concert. A rare trio of Sangeetha Kalanidhis assembled here. Chaste Carnatic music; no circus-like singing or violin playing, all too prevalent these days, here. Yesh Prabhu, Bushkill, Pennsylvania
Vazhga Vazhga Valarga let arul paravai of Siva peruman be focussed on the person who posted this soul stirring music. who we shoudl appreciate ? Aalathur bros or PMI or TNC or swaminatha pillai.
