@@Shad0wmoses i just went GS dps/support build and it's worked for me remarkably well. I have 25 kills under my belt now :). I used the Mr kulve set ofc since it has free meal secret so I rarely ever see myself run out of potions, and when I do i always have herbs and honey on me to make more on the fly.

30 times hunting with 4 man party and not a single win i get. Soloing him 10 times and i get 8 win. Fck multiplayer

If you have a switch, generations is deffinitly worth a try too. I know people like 4U the most, but generations is better to pick up these days. Has almost all of the monsters ever created pre-world (100+ monsters).

@Optimus Troll people are active, but not for all quests. One of the problems with having 100+ monsters is that people require to many different monsters. And since its all scaled for 4 playerd and there is no sos, its hard to find people

play them, all of them, for a minimum of at least 500 hours, and then do it again, that is the experience

My first was Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii. That game blew my little ten year old mind. I never made it past the Lagiacrus capture. When I was fourteen, I got big into 4 Ultimate. That solidified my love for the series. I think that my heart will always be on the 3ds because of it. I loved the blademaster/gunner dynamic. I loved the jank. I loved that stupid fucking flex you had to do after drinking a potion. However, I think that nostalgia gives me some goggles for it. You had to carry around a bunch of whetstones and pickaxes everywhere because they were one-use items. I don't like the slinger. I don't like some of the oversimplification of Monster Hunter that takes place in World. However, I am confident that it is one of the greatest games ever made. That game was made for fans and it shows. Capcom imbued it with tender love and care that the world has only seen from doting mothers. Newcomers just so happened to see how much people were salivating over it and the series went Fire Emblem mainstream. If you get the chance, play one of the older ones. But I wouldn't suggest going out of your way. 4U and Generations are probably the best old Monster Hunters. Tri was pretty beast, but you had to swim. In any case, I'm glad you share that enthusiasm. May you never have to be hit into a loading screen.

Before world, there were the old ones (Freedom, Ultimate, Unite) Crazy difficult, more janky and rigid But we all bought this game for a reason Because of those janky games

I agree. Mhtri's theme bit is so nostalgic, mellow, yet fierce in Alatreon's. Better than Alatreon's theme on previous gens IMHO.

TerracatHero agreed. I think this theme has much more intensity to it. Perhaps because Alatreon now has total control of the elements? Either way, the new one beats out the old, for me at least.

Those guys are just old players who have a boomerish way of looking at the series, thinking everything about the Old Games were better, when they clearly weren't. Like not being able to move while eating things... (I also don't think every MH Vet is toxic like the guys I mentioned. It's just the elitist ones who think everything about MHW is shit. Except weapon designs. Capcom f**ked up there.)

You know, the size of the New World Alatreon is actually smaller than the Old World counterpart. You could check MH fandom wiki if you haven't know the exact size difference between the two yet. That, and the different capability of elementals control for New World Alatreon, makes sense to me on why they made the themes between the New World and Old World Alatreon feel so different

Tbh I was disappointed at first, but then I've realised that this is the best way to make a Black Dragon live up to everyone's expectation. This fight made me realise that I'm nothing alone in front of the power of the nature.

The Diamond Cutter I really like the fight’s metaphor of us hunters trying to ‘contain’ the forces of nature and escaton judgement being nature’s response. It kind of relates to some of the post fight dialogue.

Power of the nature, only the veterans can take the black dragon on, mistake on Capcom making it mr24 tho XD

This one uses "water"

But the og could be older. Its horns are far harder to break unlike the iceborne one, it doesn't look as unstable actually. While this one uses water, one could argue the fact that he's in a volcano makes the water moves ineffective since as seen in world they light on fire easily. As in just use a fire attack, the grounds on fire anyway. Also we see weapons set up and left on the ground as if he's already fought off attacks before. World alatreon is seen going crazy with its intro uncontrollably letting out fire and having to erratically swap elements vs the og one which doesn't have modes aside from flying or grounded which hints less at being controlled by the elements and more in tuned with their chaos. But what I wish they did was make dhisfuria the next stage, an elder dragon with the avatar esk nature of alatreon, but has full control and in some cases can even revive its self quickly after death becoming even more powerful. But I think old alatreon is probably and elder, world alatreon is more chaotic and pushed by its elements. Like escaton judgment is him having to release his elemental energy all at once, old alatreon didn't need to, he just kept trucking on. I think its actually plausible to say old alatreon was ancient, and well... was suffering from elemental disfunction, lacking the drive that causes such outbursts of elemental energy unless he was taking in elemental damage. One could also say that the volcano could have disabled it, being an area naturally high in fire element, alatreon while immune to the damaging effects may have had its elemental outbursts suppressed by it. But who knows.

@@tbc1880 Actually, I think the reason why the horns are "easier" to break is because of it's huge amount of Dragon element running through it. Remember, horns can be broken in Dragon Active only, which is when Alatreon is overloaded with Dragon element, which can make the horn weaker. Also Alatreon's horns are slightly bigger compared in the older gen. And one thing you need to consider is that Alatreon isn't a monster that will just move constantly. So why DID it move? And why the Secluded Valley, where Safi'jiiva was?

@@stygiandragon3865 also other idea I got is dragon element and dragon blight. Dragon blight in 3u removed element. This wasn't the case in 3 but I think the fact world alatreon has a dragon state goes to my idea if it being younger. The 3u alatreon had more stability and didn't have its unstability erupt from it. 3u alatreon was more balanced which hindered its elemental output in a way but it being more controlled gave it in my opinion more focused attacks. Worlds are very easy to dodge and evade. 3u had more lag but it was far more likely to hit. This really makes me want to fight an alatreon that was stable and didn't have a dragon form but still had the explosive power of worlds. Alatreon leaving due to fatalis could also be a sign it is a younger dragon. I do wonder however, how the discrepancy between world and past game monsters are in lore. I mean in 4u we fight multiple fatalis and fatalis of different subspecies. The ace cadet was there when our hunter was doing work on the black dragons. Yet seems unaware of them. Was it not cannon? What about the one that made the Lao shen lung flee. And what of the organization that covered up the black dragons?

@@tbc1880 Well, hub quests aren't always cannon. Only the story quests are cannon. Remember, gameplay aspect does not equal the lore. So we've only technically encountered Crimson in 4U which didn't even a confirmed kill. And also, the fact that before the Alatreon quest, its power and Scared Land has been said and was mentioned that the documents about it has been destroyed, suggesting the 3U Alatreon was a thing. And I beleive the reason 3U Alatreon seems more "stable" is because it doesn't have as much energy compared to Iceborne. In Iceborne, we've seen it has enough energy to make those huge shockwaves since it now has more energy within its body. And Alatreon itself must've felt a huge amount of pain trying to even contain them. So it's understandable why it's in a almost rampage state.

@@realMrMH can you try putting out the zinogre one? all the ones out here on youtube are either bad mashups of random parts of the song, or that version with the wierd audio bug in the middle of the song

Michael Hubbard it’s a strange argument and I somewhat don’t understand the appeal but I think people find this version “easier to listen to” which is completely subjective cause I find it kind’ve too low in terms of energy compared to the old one but it’s just how it goes. I’m glad you like it, I *like* it I just don’t *love* like I do the old one

I think in the old games they have that charm and battle-ready kind of themes, but in the newer games they seem a lot more orchestral and authentic. I think I prefer this one mainly because of the flow, and how magestic but still mysterious it manages to be, which really suits this new Alatreon. I do think the electric guitar and organ were really badass.

Spino Goose thank you, I do actually think the new one is good but it’s really down to a different taste because If you think about it, both themes really encompass drastically different tastes. The new one sounds too quiet to me but who am I to judge anyone for liking that more then the BUUUUUUM with the organ that the original theme gave. And also as much as I don’t want to say it, maybe it is this NEW Alatreon that deserves a quieter theme. I still will always prefer the old one (as you know) but I do respect the new one, I’m just sad that I didn’t get to see an even more hype version of the one I enjoyed years ago :( Different tastes.

Ultimately the issue with World’s soundtrack (and sound design in general) is the strange mixing choices. Where they have quieted down percussion immensely, increased the volume and bass of the brass and strings too high. The bgm plays too quietly in game. I have to set the volume of SFX at 80% in order to hear it properly

If AT Alatreon will be considered, it's at the back of the line behind legacy Elders

Then Escaton Judgement happened and wiped old and new hunters alike out lol

So, how was the experience?

@@jasonlobo2350 pretty good, hes definitely a fun fight, we managed to topple him and break both horns quite often but we always carted to pretty heavy random attacks like the dragon aoe he centers around himself with no indicator whatsoever thus we havent beaten him yet, but we are trying different setups and weapons since most of us play 3 weapons at most and havent really done much guiding lands to be honest, some of us havent even met MR lunastra yet XD

@@middox239 hahaha i know Men im MR 250 and i only fought 1 lunastra xD i hate her, regarding Alá i recommend heavy elemental build and the shifting elements explosion can be i-framed just wait for alatreon to put his forelegs down your team got this MH is all about the reward at the end of the hunt

Alatreon can use every element and by this point has mastered them all. Lagiacrus wasn’t included in World due to his Skeleton not working properly so Capcom cut him out of the game. He has beta footage
