Albert Hammmond Jr is underrated

After hearing Albert’s solo work, I realize how crucial he is to the Strokes sound. What an underrated musician.

Its weird to see him not play the guitar.

It’s so weird to see a lot of people complaining that it sounds like the strokes, he is a indie rock guy so what would you expect? This is how he is, what he likes to do. Let him do his thing or just don’t listen to it

Audio Engineers, guys - you did wonderful job here. PERFECT sound, perfect balance between instruments, and vocals... Actually, even better than album recording, for sure!

This is definitely Alberts best solo album.

The lead guitar on “Set to Attack” is beyond words! 💯

listening to his solo music shows me actually just how much influence he has on the strokes' sound.

Albert’s a surprisingly good frontman. His energy is super magnetic and quirky. His vocals could obviously use some polishing, but I like his style of singing more than I think I should.

What I'd give to have Julian on vocals for strangers and Albert on leads for set to attack. But I guess that's poetic justice in itself. Julian, Nick, Albert - all so good in their own right.

Albert is extremely talented but he also seems like a really cool guy... I love the way he gets his band mates to introduce themselves... it's only a small thing but you just know these guys are having a great time working together.

I love all the backing vocals on Set to Attack. Makes it sound huge!

Its crazy how the main stream music isn't this, it would be a fresh new exciting time, Bands would start up again, shows for three dollars, and then some cool guitar sit inns and jams, hmmm wish it would happen

I could listen to the start of Rocky's late night on repeat for weeks and not tire of it

El "Francis trouble" es un álbum sin malas canciones... Todas están buenas y algunas son excelentes 👌. Albert y su equipo de veras hicieron un gran gran trabajo aquí. Se podría decir que con el paso del tiempo fue puliendo sus trabajos, desde el "Yours to keep" hasta este ejemplar. Yo escuché este álbum unas 1000 veces y nunca me aburrió o lo noté pesado, es algo muy especial que tiene. 🎶🛐👌

Julian was always my favourite Stroke but I've been unable to get into the whole Voids thing. Just not for me, but I love most of AHJs solo stuff.

Been loving AHJ for a long time now, decade plus, always a solid set to come back too. I really enjoy me some KEXP

Went to ACL a few years back, I saw tame impala, foo fighters, billy idol and a bunch of other bands but Albert Hammond Jr. was hands down the most mind blowing. I know a lot of their songs seem simple or whatever but when you’re there it just moves you and does something to your brain that I can’t explain.

Albert might not be playing the parts, but you know damn well that he wrote many of the parts. Sounds like a Julian-centric Strokes' album. So good.

this album is gooden' - honestly, it's really surprised me...Albert's a hell of a song writer...some really good songs and all flow really nicely...thanks KEXP, wouldn't have heard this stuff if it wasn't for you x
