Albi's Oboe 

I think it's great when performers contribute to the development of their instrument, whether in terms of instrument design, music composed for that instrument, etc.

This is one of a very few videos that explain a player’s loving relationship with his instrument, and the very intricate relationship between a player and the instrument maker. Absolutely fascinating, and a wonderful insight into this hidden world. Thank you for sharing!!

I think this is the most fascinating film I have ever seen about the manufacture and collaboration in the creation of an Oboe..I enjoyed it immensely.

I am an industrial designer, as well as a Clarinetist and budding Oboist (I've just bought my first one !) - and I love that this amazing beast is CNC-lathed using CAD Engineering design - really appreciate that. I hope I will the lottery this weekend so I can buy one of these !

I thoroughly enjoyed this film. I played the Oboe in New York some years ago and recently have started to practice again. When I was younger the early '60's, I lived near Philadelphia and would accompany my father, semi-professional Bassoonist, to see Hans Moennig to have his instrument worked on. That is where I decided to play the Oboe. Hans Moennig was amazing in knowing exactly how to adjust my Oboe. Your Oboe playing is beautiful!

i have two oboes , a modern rigoutat classic and a 114 year old loree . i mainly play the loree and adapting to all its imperfections have made me a better player . and when it sings it sings very tunefully , more so than many similiar value modern oboes

in case these pieces were all played on the same instrument, it really shows great tonal flexibility. in each the oboe sounded different to me . sometimes darker sometimes brighter. at least to me.
