i was honestly shocked when bbtm was at the bottom but when i saw dawn fm being the second to last i was BAFFLED dawn fm is literally my favorite album from him 😭😭
1. After Hours 2. Dawn Fm 3. House Of Ballons 4. Starboy 5. Kiss Land 6. My Dear Melancholy 7. Beuty Behind The Madness 8. Echoes Of Silence 9. Thursday
IDK, in my opinion BBTM is such a cohesive album with so much memorable songs. It has the darkness of his earlier records, but also a more mainstream flavor. Also I feel like his vocals got better in this record.
For me: (I can’t rank the mixtapes as one in the trilogy) 1. Kissland 2. House of Balloons 3. After Hours 4. My Dear Melancholy (probably his most consistent, wish it was a full album) 5. Starboard 6. Beauty Behind the Madness 7. Dawn FM 8. Echoes of Silence 9. Thursday
not atrl lmaoo you a true pop stan fr😂 I have to look back at your channel since im pretty sure i watched all your videos but i recommend a Rihanna ranked (loved your Rated R video btw), a Kendrick ranked and a Whitney one too!
in my opinion : 1. after hours 2. house of balloons 3. kissland 4. beauty behind the madness 5. echoes of silence 6. my dear melancholy 7. thursday 8. dawn fm 9. starboy
I'm deeeep XO fan and i have the same rankings, the amount that you wanted to explain yourself for the ranking of Dawn fm😭i totally agree with "when i finished it i just thought i rather listen to after hours"
The more time goes on, the more I realize that Kissland is The Weeknd's best album. Kiss Land is also his most advanced project of him, the fact that there is a real concept through the story between him and a prostitute in a very advanced city and that there are no apparent signs of hits but only very symbiotic, poetic and coherent songs makes this album even more unique especially as it is magnificently well produced. Lyrically and vocally it's what The Weeknd has done best in an album and his storytelling in it is sumptuously told, songs like Proffesional, Tears In the Rain, Pretty ect....Remember that 3 or 4 songs in Kiss Land are easily part of the Top 8 of the best songs of The Weeknd's career. There's also some incredible foreshadowing in the Kiss Land album that leads into the Afters Hours album, in other words Afters Hours wouldn't have been what it was without Kiss Land. In 50/60 years Kiss Land will be The Weeknd's album that the The Weeknd's fans and even other people that consume music will call "the misunderstood genius album of Abel" and will still be on rotation in the playlist by generations of the next century.
9. Thursday 8. Echoes of silence 7. Kissland 6. My dear melancholy 5. House of balloons 4. Beauty behind the madness 3. Starboy 2. After hours 1. Dawn fm (shoot me)
a little late, but my rankings would be: 1. kiss land 2. after hours 3. echoes of silence 4. dawn fm 5. house of balloons 6. beauty behind the badmess 7. my dear meloncholy 8. thursday 9. starboy if i could rank trilogy i would put it on par with kissland, only because twenty eight and till dawn are top 10 weeknd songs.
Apple recently released thier top 100 album of all time and no single The Weeknd album made the list. Reminds me of how he was ignored with no grammy nomination for After Hours.
I mostly agree with you the weeknd most classics apart from his mixtapes are Starboy after hours and beauty behind the madness because from 2015 onwards was the year that weeknd became a star then 2016 starboy came out he became a mega star then 2020 with after hours the weeknd was like the biggest pop star in the world so those three albums are his classics Kiss land is a decent debut album Dawn fm was over shadowed due to lack of marketing and expectations from after hours
For me its: 1.Echoes of Silence 2. After hours (in terms of aesthetic and vibes and even the production its #1, i actually change my number 1-2 spots on this list very often but i find myself listening to EOS more, so) 3. Kiss Land (Live for BUTCHERS the album imo, his worst song) 4. Dawn FM 5. HoB (i LOVE this album to bits but i listen to others more) 6. Starboy (in LOVE with this album and its aesthetic but some of the filler songs really ruin the overall listenability for me the other albums above have) 7. Beauty Behind the Madness (same reason with starboy, it doesnt really have fillers but some of the songs are not my thing. But often to in the night 7 track run is CRAZY) 8. My dear melancholy (its an amazing ep but thats what brings it down, its short) 9. Thursday (i dont hate the album, in fact some of my fav songs of him are in this album but i think its really weak compared to others)
This list is shocking 😳 I love trilogy ❤so much !!! But every opinion matters no hate ! 😊 the fact when he released trilogy at the time when I first listened to it I thought it was a band but didn’t think it was only one man and this man is breaking streaming records 😃 I went to his dawn fm tour with my son and his show was absolute perfection !
I dont really listen to The Weeknd for real but I do like his songs from the beauty behind the mask, starboi and after hours. if you haven't done it yet, could you rank Michael Jackson albums (even his albums with Motown if you want)? me personally my rankings are 11. Music and me 10. forever, Michael 9. Ben 8. Got to be there 7. Blood on the dance floor (I dont like most of the new mixes) 6. Dangerous 5. off the wall 4. bad 3. history 2. thriller. 1. invincible (though invincible and thriller switch around sometimes)
This is a truly magnificent list, however i have a question: Doesn't starboy has a similar issue to Beauty Behind the Madness? We don't see a proper storytelling in that record.
