Sorry guys but, Santa Fe is our capital. Not Albuquerque. But, I'm glad you came to visit our city. Everyone always says how fuqued up Albuquerque is but, it has its charm and good people too. Lots of quaint little neighborhoods tucked away all over the city.
Albuquerque used to have many things open 24/7 just a couple years ago. Due to a combination of staffing issues and rampant theft, even the Wal Marts stopped being open all the time. Even when I was back there in 2017 it wasn't like this.
You're driving in the business district, where the courts, law offices, banks are all located. Basically 9-5 businesses. Nightlife would be downtown Central from 2nd Street to 7th. Probably mainly in weekends these days. Very few other spots around town have decent places to go late at night, until 2am. Since the pandemic it's definitely slowed down everywhere in Albuquerque. Most Walmarts even close at 9pm. It sucks, the only 24 hour store in town is a Walgreens and they close early half the time because of crime and being understaffed. Probably because it's dangerous to work at night here. I've been mugged at 1am walking to Dunkin donuts in an ok part of town. Goes to show that all areas of this city can be dangerous. I've heard burque is the 5th most dangerous city in the US. But if you live here you either learn the hard way or somehow you know where not to go and to always watch your 6, be aware of your surroundings.
“ I've heard burque is the 5th most dangerous city in the US. ” Not even close. The murder rate is on par with cities like Houston. Typical. About half the murder rate of DC most years and 1/5 the rate of more dangerous cities like St Louis, etc.
Dane bro couldn’t have been more spot on my self definitely have to always watch you 6 around here trust us when you get robbed so unexpectedly the first time you’ll learn to do just that welcome to abq
I’ve lived here my whole life, it’s been strange how many tourist I’ve seen lately. Usually here to see breaking bad sights, and I love greeting people from all over the world. Everyone I’ve ran into has been from outta country. It’s new to a lot of us locals here. I can’t wait to visit everyone else’s HT!!!
Central downtown has a nightlife, but that’s the only place because the police are patrolling. My dad has a pop shop and it’s not safe to stay open after hours. Meth heads don’t like the sun but they sure love a quick penny
When I moved to Albuquerque 11yrs ago I was asked all the time why we moved to NM. Family. NM has it's beauty. Definitely not a lot to do here once you have done it all. Like many places there are pros and cons. I was born and raised in NJ, lived in Richmond, VA for 8yrs and now I'm in NM. What keeps me here? My children.
I am surprised hotels in Abq could get that expensive. I experienced a major price shock ,4 years ago, when I traveled up to the Denver area and the most affordable, decent hotel was an hour and a half away!
Avoid the hotels on Coors and I40 at all costs. In 2000 Coors was ok with new developments but now it's the site of many robberies who rob then get back on the highway.
I’m from Albuquerque and it’s Sunday, everyone is home resting to go to work and school the following day. I actually went visited a week later for my brother’s graduation.
I'd come in sometimes 10p, sometimes 11p going west. I still remember the hills and then a curve and then you see a great big valley full of lights. Next stop, Gallup NM for gas.
Albuquerque isn't really too boring. Bicycling is a good hobby weather permitting. Maybe Target shooting on west side open space and city public range. Alot of garage/ estate sales to find rare to cool stuff at low prices. Basically just make your own hobby up and enjoy it. Summer gets hot temperature, June, July, August so beware those months have plenty water/ice , have a hat Handy and sunscreen before a painful sunburn.
Albuquerque is more of a retirement and older population town. Alot of places close at 9pm. Mostly fast food and walmarts stay open. Alot of young people leave the state for better careers and better night life. Not much happens here. Just mostly cruise at night and party at peoples houses. Santa Fe is the capital of New Mexico.
they close at nine NOW pre covid it was boomin!' covid ruined it, then, you put masks on people who think crime is fun, you see, ive lived in this town from 1969 until a couple years ago, and a good many here think being the warped shit they do is fun, a good bit is drug fueled, but some is just for malice, others just for kicks, and a general mix of people,
We have Cracker Barrels here in southern California, but only 5 or 6, which is nothing for this area. Farthest one West would probably be Torrance, about 5-10 minutes from the beach lol
Albuquerque it’s pretty chill at night during the weekdays and sundays at night. It’s been that big town kind of vibe always when I lived out there for 12 plus years. For nightlife usually in the weekends, and for decent to nice hotels either embassy, parq hotel, doubletree downtown, hotel Albuquerque, hotel andaluz, isleta or sandia casino and resort are pretty nice. Definitely not in the scale of a major city, but it’s cozy where you want to live, and show mutual respect and definitely never show off or flaunt. Other than that it’s lovely during the day when the sandia mountains are snowy or nice summer day. For best hotel rates always try hot wire you may land a good deal at a 3 or better star hotel.
Depends on what kind of lifestyle you have. If you're someone who enjoys outdoor activities like camping, hiking, etc, then ABQ wouldn't be that bad. If you like going out to drink and party and a decent nightlife, then it's not that great compared to other large metros.
@@onetimepeace i just cruise in my lowrider bike in Albuquerque because there aint much attractions besides balloon fiesta or pumpkin patch but thats seasonal
@@joonkwon9303 yeah I love the outdoor and all that and am not big on the partying side of stuff and to me the city has so much to do inside it and nearby and the landscape is super gorgeous
Respect to the lady but, you sir, fella, I don’t remember signing your permission slip to enter New Mexico. You need to report to the office for discipline immediately.
Downtown Cleveland is very busy most nights especially after and during games and other festivities but also Metro Cleveland is 2.9 million in population the hub of a 4+ million populated region and Ohio completely 🤷♂️
Don't let people tell you different, that it's all good here ( ITS NOT OK HERE , HOMELESS PEOPLE EVERRWHE ERE, ITS NOT OK HERE AND THAT'S WHY NO ONE IS OUT........
I appreciate your videos, but you made a grave error within the first 90 seconds. Albuquerque is NOT the capitol of New Mexico and never has been. In fact, Santa Fe is the OLDEST capitol in America. C'mon, guys, I expected better of you!
I wouldn't exactly call that a "grave" error as there's no consequence and you'd have to look it up if you weren't native. If I had to guess the capital of Florida, I'd get it wrong 4 or 5 times before landing on Tallahassee. Similar story for Nevada, Vermont, Washington, Maine, etc. - I would've bet money that Anchorage was the capital of Alaska but nope
Yeah, and in a world where this society believes everything they hear... it's a good reason we've gone to hell in a handbasket. I mean, so many videos out there that waste our time. Quality is history.
@@1life0gods The history is in Santa Fe and it's always been the capital since it's older just because Albuquerque got more popular doesn't mean it needs the capital to move
The center of New Mexico and its capital is Santa Fe, the oldest capital city in the nation. I have lived in ABQ for several years, and it is FAR deadlier than the "East Coast". The stats don't lie look it up. The Albuquerque police have made it this way, they shoot everyone on sight. Albuquerque is the WORST place to visit when in NM. You need to go to Santa Fe and the pueblos. That's where the culture and food is at. The native locals are the key to all your questions, not the internet or other non New Mexicans.
New Mexico is a Seasonal State.. Hiking , skiing, camping,Balloon fiesta, town fiestas thru out the state , family celebrating, concerts in the casinos etc Not-sure what your wanting to see as your cruising in your car . Seems quite and peaceful as your driving …We are better than most States because you don’t see our street’s overwhelming with homeless… we do have homeless but we have the most resource’s than other states .
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT????? Homelessness and addiction in Albuquerque is the WORST i've seen out of the 27 states i've been in, except maybe Kensington in philly. You need a reality check... NM is pretty but its one of the WORST states in the WHOLE country with crime and lawlessness. the crap is wrong with you.
Why are you fighting with people who comment on your video. This sin of anger is what’s plaguing our whole country globally in fact. Calm down brah . You were out here to say and see how bad our environment is , and you didn’t see nothin. All you saw was clean streets clear skies . Stop talking shit and how we are the worst of the worst. I dare you to go through the streets And find it smelling like urine and feces all over probably like your streets . we may have our troubles but we still have quite, clean streets. You get a reality check In talking about others backyards when your own stinks. Laters …
No. No guys Burque is not the Capital. Its Santa Fe. Santa Fe. You Also went through the buisness district not the night life road. In truth, a lot didn't make it through the lockdown here.
I’ve seen smaller southern cities half the size of Albuquerque with better looking and more lively downtowns. Downtown Albuquerque is dead after 5pm, only a few clubs and a movie theater downtown, other than that’s it’s a ghost town. And Albuquerque also has a Waffle House
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS in new mexico not much to do besides shankin shankers with a shank with my shankin shanker pals is the official song of shankers in abq 😆
I say this with truth , ALBUQUERQUE is a warzone city , women and Muslim men and people are being stabbed with no cause by crazy motherfucking people, and rape is frequent, it's no joke here... ..
Mountain ranges do not surround the city, they are only to the east. And the capital of NM is Santa Fe. Not surprised of your knowledge since you admire Cracker Barrel and Waffle House.
