Alcatraz was the last major canyon I've done and at 6 ft and 230 lbs I'd agree with your assessment. My size lead to a significant increase in the need for stemming situations. Though still difficult, I'd imagine that it becomes a much more enjoyable canyon for someone of smaller horizontal dimensions.
