I love this technique! I have done this with alcohol, but never with many layers before. I’ll have to experiment with this. This technique works nicely with Starburst sprays but you can’t layer them because they reactivate with the next layer. I suppose you could use fixative between layers, though. Thanks for inspiring us.

I’m so glad you’ve got your workshop cleared. Well done you ❤️. I need a major clear out of my craft room, but it will put me out of action for a couple of weeks so I keep putting it off. In all honesty I don’t know where to start! I hope you’ll give this a try. I want to do the same technique on the other Tate boards as these make the most fabulous backgrounds for other projects and I want to experiment more with the wiping away technique too. Have a fabulous week 💕💕💕

Good morning nina, like you I sometimes overthink while I am creating and with techniques like this you just have to wait and see. Well not entirely true, you choose the colours and you are good at this. The nice thing is, that the results are inspiring and ideas come up right away and then your"thinking cap" is in order. Thanks for mentioning that nailpolishremover will also do the job, since I haven no prosomething alcohol......Have a good week nina, love lena xxx
@NinaRibenaMixedMedia
@NinaRibenaMixedMedia 4 года назад
Good morning Lena. I’m find the quicker you work with these kinds of things, the better the results as you don’t overthink it as much. I hope acetone nail polish will work, I have not tried it, but seem to remember someone saying it works. Surgical spirits regular rubbing alcohol will definitely work for this. Have a creative week and take care. Hugs 💕 xxx

Love this! I’m going to have a play with this today... in fact... (pause) ... right now... I stopped commenting in order to gather my supplies to check out this fun technique. I remember those art journal layouts and used to try to follow along with you. I loved filling my 8x8 black journal which was my first completed journal. I’m still creating art journal layouts in various sizes but I haven’t gotten into junk journals or other mixed media projects although I am hoping to create a grouping of small 8” canvases for the wall I look at the most. I recently resubscribed to your channel which was how I saw this video. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us and have a great day! 🙂

Very exciting prompt this week! Can’t wait to experiment yet again! I will be googling chemical reactions (fumes, effect on paper, etc) if I venture outside what you and Kylie have used in your videos...I have an idea, but want to make sure it’s safe to use with art supplies and whether it affects the paper’s longevity! Thanks again for a new challenge. 💕 PS. I’ve been working on most of the prompts (RRR and dendritic) but have found little time to take pictures...lol...how do you manage to make so many great videos! My hat goes off to you and Kylie for all that you do to make this group such a success! ❤️😀
@k8marlowe
@k8marlowe 6 месяцев назад
Through my experiments, I have found that acrylics need to be diluted pretty heavily and the alcohol should be 91% or more, for the best results. Also, the watercolor & salt reaction works best if the watercolor paints are still damp, but not so wet that there are puddles. Larger salt particles like from pink salt, or rock salt have given me some really pretty results. Hope this helps anyone watching after 2 years later! 😉

I realized I haven't been getting videos from you or anyone else that I subscribe to for at least a month, maybe longer. Morning Karen. Thanks for your message. RU-vid have stopped sending email notifications as they claim that only 1% of people were reading them. This is having a huge effect on viewing numbers. There are a couple of things you can try. Firstly try unsubscribing from my channel and then subscribing again, remembering to click the bell notification. This might reset things. There is also a video here that explains how you can reinstate settings here. I hope this helps and would appreciate you letting me know if it does 💕 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HVvX_M56zFo.html
