Good question. I find, yes, most work as long as you don't put too much on or too little. It's that Goldilocks effect again, I find it needs to be just right. I go for a semi opaque covering, so I can just see a very faint bit of the work showing through once I've brayered the acrylic. Have an experiment until you get to what works for you. I also find the paper you pull with affects it so if I want to guarantee a good pull I use thicker card around 330gsm but I also love pulling on rice paper which isn't quite as forgiving as the card. If you want to do Image transfer from magazines then I find liquitex heavy body Paynes Grey works best for me but I am soon going to be comparing that with the Golden high flow Paynes Grey so keep an eye out for that tutorial soon.
