Alderley Edge Mines (A Walk Through Time) 

located in the heart of Cheshire the Alderley edge copper mines are some of the oldest metal mines in England.
Evidence suggests mining activities started here during the bronze age and continued on and off until the 1920's.
Copper, lead and cobalt were just some of the minerals worked for here.
There are approximately around 15 kilometers of known underground passage here with west mine being the largest complex spanning over 10 kilometers
the mines here are owned by the national trust and recently in the Autumn of 2021 a cobalt mine was un earthed revealing a time capsule of personal objects and mining equipment
the Derbyshire caving club have looked after these mines since the 1960's and run regular open days giving the public a chance to experience life underground.
there ongoing efforts also allow for history to be re discovered.

Peak Caving Club is a Derbyshire based caving club with members from all over the UK.
Our community (now over 1000 strong and growing!) welcomes both new and experienced cavers providing opportunities to learn, share and enjoy the underground spaces beneath our feet safely.
We host trips every weekend and plenty midweek around the Derbyshire area to keep our members busy.
There's also regular trips throughout the year taking us to hotspot caving locations across the UK such as the Yorkshire Dales, Wales, the Mendips and many more.
