I walked through this tunnel in brand new white trainers with my mates when I was about 12. Fair to say my mum weren’t happy when I got back home 😂. Was just a laugh back then so we didn’t pay attention to the history of it and what the line served etc, it’s interesting to know now that I’m older. It’s brought back memories seeing inside again I can’t believe that old trike is still in there, we found that proper weird.
Have you read The Weirdstone of Brisingamen, famous children's book set in Alderlry, and where the children go underground into the tunnels and caverns? Very interesting and entertaining book! I was glad to have this glimpse of some of these caverns!
Very entertaining , informative but most of all funny ; I laughed out loud and really enjoyed my trip through the caverns of Alderley . You should get your own TV series .
5:00 - That is really interesting! How did they get down there and through all those crawly bits with what I would assume was some kind of fire for light? How far in were these animal remains and tools? I miss spelunking :/
If the rope is fat or fluffy or wet or all 3, they can be nasty. I descended a few times in a series of struggles and short free falls. I prefer old stop for this reason
Great informative video! We have enquired about joining craven pothole club although will be looking for easier systems than that lol We’ve subbed to see more 🙂
1:29 This should be vitalized as a walking trail with flower gardens, at both ends. Old fashioned flowers hollyhocks, delphiniums, echinacea that would attract butterflies 🦋 and birds. Thanks 😊 for sharing this. Your voice is great at commentating. It’s an incredible feat of hardworking people.
