Aldi Kitchen Gadget Reviews: Ambiano Compact 3.5L Air Fryer - £29.99
Air fryers are turning up in all shapes and sizes these days, this is a small 3.5L version from Ambiano at Aldi, not many bells and whistles with this one, but its is nice and quiet and wont take up much room on the counter top, the value seems resonable too as even the basic versions had started to creep up in price!

thank you for the review! i got this a few months ago as a present and it's fantastic. suits me better than the ones with two compartments. would u recommend using a silicone tray for this/cooking something with liquids? if yes which one do u use (size/brand)?

Having to take mine back. Drawer doesn't depress safety switch at base sufficiently, hence will not switch on. Will not be getting another. Video shows it barely reduces the time for cooking potatoes, but I suppose at 1200W it uses a bit less power than conventional oven (although a lot more than a microwave)

The drawer is definitely not the best once it’s got hot but I could wiggle it back in. I find it a lot more economical than the oven and don’t really enjoy them from the microwave. We love how crispy the skin goes in the air fryer. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment.

I bought this model a couple of days ago, never having used an air fryer before. It's pretty basic but that suits me fine. I didn't bother to read the manual and managed to get it to work with no problem. I cooked baked potatoes yesterday but managed to do them in 25 minutes by microwaving them for 5 minutes beforehand. For £30 it's a bargain, but I suspect it's not built to last. Time will tell.

@@Mandyglen Well, I'm not hopeful re: longevity - I'm already having problems getting the thing to recognise when the basket is in place. It seems very finicky in how you place it. I notice that there's a small switch at the base that is depressed by a prong on the basket and I think that doesn't always engage properly. A diy mod. may be required.

@@promise3247 No! It failed to switch on completely about a week after I posted that message - I returned it and bought another, larger model from Dunelm, which is fine.

bought one a few weeks ago, smells of burning electrical, assumed it was just newness....still smells of electrical burning so will bin it, I didn't keep the receipt so to complex to return,,,, to be fair it was cheap and serves me right ..... will buy a well known brand next time in town

That's such a shame because the return policy is really good, three years no quibble - We have returned items for a refund on a few occasions, it's hard to keep track of receipts but you can't fault them for customer service
