A New Mexico judge on Friday threw out the involuntary manslaughter case against Alec Baldwin in the middle of his trial and said it cannot be filed again. Read more: bit.ly/4bHFdt5 #alecbaldwin #rustmovie #news #live
Right wing ideology is a mental illness and will lead people to do extremely terrible and irrational things, she demonstrated that well with her vendetta attempt against Baldwin. Thankfully justice prevailed, this time.
To be fair I think the moment she ended her career was before that. I think it was when she decided to take the role of the judge, the jury and the defense attorney and decide on her own, which evidence she should share with the defense and which evidence she should hide from the defense

That was the messiest, most disastrous trial brought by a prosecution that I've ever seen. I mean, wow. A prosecutor calling herself as a witness? Just mindboggling. The dismissal was totally warranted.
Prosecutor attempting to make a name for herself without a real case against Baldwin. Before even getting to trial the prosecutor did her best to try Baldwin in the media. She should be fired.
Absolutely! She hated Mr. Baldwin by her remarks about him. She is unprofessional in every sense of the word and should not be a practicing lawyer in the state of New Mexico.
If only we could have judges like this everywhere. Idk if he is guilty of a crime, but the government sure as heck can't go around trying to put people in jail while violating the fundamental fairness of the proceedings.
These prosecutors need to be stopped from keeping evidence and cheating they should be held in jail everytime there caught for 5 years maybe then it will stop
This trial should not be in the first place, baldwin acts by instruction of cinematographer and director just to capture his moves as intended for movie Rust, the gun and bullet props should pinpoint who’s handle it responsibly
Excellent Judge! I’m not a fan of Alec but the DA is the worst and an embarrassment to anyone with a law license. I’ve never seen a prosecutor call themselves as a witness. What a complete waste of $, time and so so so many liars. No wonder there was so many “plea deals” in Hannah’s trial! I bet Alec sues for $1 and WINS!
@@mountainconsumer I'm not aware of a crime called "malicious prosecution" where the Baldwin trial was. Malicious prosecution is a CIVIL matter, not a criminal one. You could never jail a lawyer for malicious prosecution... And respectfully friend I think you're digging your own grave with this stuff. Listen, I'm not trying to upset you, I think you should just be more cautious with statements about who should and shouldn't be in jail. Let's try to work together to leave high quality comments on legal matters.
@@jenispizz2556 the judge said the prosecution will be sanctioned, they commited crimes that a grand jury will hear and make insictments on. It was a literal conspiracy to rail road Baldwin. Secret case numbers, exculputory evidence withheld from court.
That prosecutor didn't just look like Ailene Wornos from "Monster" she really IS a MONSTER! Shame! She also double-talked her way into a dismissal! I bet she loses her job or license! Imo
This case should never have been brought in the first place. The prosecutors had malice in their hearts and prejudice in their presentation. They deserve to be fired. An absolute disgrace. Kudos to the judge for throwing the case out! An accident is an accident.

Even as witness Morrisey wanted to stay at the podium. Amazing. Witness stand, please! And the other prosecutor seemed to me like a way more professional person. She made a wise move to resign from this case minutes before disaster.
@@John-tj4upThe prosecutor’s co-counsel, Erlinda Ocampo Johnson, the lady with the bangs that gave the state’s opening statement. I believe it happens at a sidebar before the lunch hour.
The prosecutor doesn't seem to get it even after she gets up on the stand while only adding more weights around her ankles. By her assuming while being an idiot that these rounds wouldn't match that the thing she was required to do would be to have them tested just on the off chance the information she had been given about never leaving Arizona being false. Thats just one of many crooked things she did.
Note to that desicable prosecutor: " You see that glow flashing in the corner of your eye? That's your career dissipation light. It just went into high gear."
It was the responsibility of the armorer to ensure the safety of all weapons she was in charge of. Somehow, live rounds got into a prop gun. Alec Baldwin is not a firearms expert and was not under contract to ensure the safety of those weapons, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was. There was testimony that Gutierrez-Reed was asked if these weapons were safe and she said yes. I think involuntary manslaughter is a fitting charge for her and a jury agreed. Baldwin should never have been charged in this case, to do so was frankly ghoulish.
@51:09 Prosecutor explains that the brass primers are why she dismissed the evidenciary value. Bottom right picture that she is displaying shows a nickel primer. What a joke
Fantastic work Judge! You did the right thing. Just because someone is famous, rich, disagreeable in personality, doesn't mean we just throw out the law! The court of public opinion decided Alec was guilty regardless of the truth. Call it jealousy, vindictiveness, whatever, as a society we should never want someone found guilty just because you don't like them. Im glad the judge saw through the set up. Justice was served today for Alec. Hannah Gutierrez was the armorer, now we must ask, was she too set up? They wanted her fired but someone died.
6:02 the judge makes the point, the live ammunition on photo look similar to the dummies on set…this is why mix up could have happenned…that’s the end of the case 👍
This case deserved to collapse. everyone involved in trying to frame him should be tried in a court of law. That was pure insanity. Not a fan of Alec, but well done to him. Even if that witness had not incriminated the prosecution, his lawyer had already won that case.
No! That would be "Double Jeopardy" however if it ends in a "mistrial" then the DA could retry the case, but most times they don't. Great question though. 😊
@@benetta8275not DJ. Although the “with prejudice” inclusion, the state is precluded from bringing the same charges. Effectively the same results, but not DJ.
HAPPY! FOR MR. BALDWIN. Kudos to the judge for being fair and seeing through the 'witch-hunt' of the defense. Mr. Baldwin had no way of knowing that there was a live round in his gun. This was a total waste of time and taxpayers money. Thank you Judge for granting a dismissal. Hopefully, the Baldwins can get on with their lives and be left alone by all of his haters, including the defense lawyer. Justice is finally served!
Imagine an actor is doing a scene driving a car. The car is is prepped by the stunt team but someone on the stunt team makes a mistake that results in the car the actor is driving crashing and killing someone. You don't charge the actor - unless it's a big name actor that you want to take down to build a name for yourself.
Justice of the family goes straight to Hannah Gutterrez and her father as the armorers. They loaded the gun with live ammo. Mr. Baldwin is an innocent man and had no way of knowing his gun had a live bullet. It is not his fault. Place the blame where it belongs. Then you will find justice for the family.
@@SongBird21-nz8vx #1 he should have checked the gun since he knew there was live ammo on the set.#2 He pulled the trigger. Folks have gotten far more punishment in accidental shootings. So yes, he is to blame.
@@runnindeer1971no its not he done nothing wrong..expert armorer said today he can point a gun pull the trigger wave the gun around because the armorers job is to keep gun safe
@runnindeer1971 People are hired on the set to handle that. He's been in the business long enough to know that and he was relying on that person to do their job like he showed up and did his job. The young lady in charge of that was doing coke and drugs while on the set. To me, it sounds like they set Alec up!
The person responsible was the armorer. And she was already found guilty and put in jail. Baldwin didn’t load the gun, wasn’t responsible for checking the bullets; he didn’t buy or procure the weapon or the bullets. Didn’t check the gun, declare it safe, and then put it in the hands of an actor performing a scene for a movie. The person who did that or was responsible for it, was the armorer- and she already received punishment for her mistakes or negligence. Baldwin shouldn’t have to pay the price for someone else’s mistakes and shouldn’t have to go to jail to make the people who hate him, happy.
DA seemed concerningly inept early on, and it's quite scary they DID botch it...QUICKLY in trial...and he did not have to testify in court...while quite dubiously claiming not to have pulled trigger. Meanwhile he was let off as co producer TOO. Very alarming resolution, with plausibly dangerous person evading accountability. Affluent lawyers etc, can really determine outcomes or DA was intimidated into incompetence seems like.
A total waste of time and money. Thanks to the moronic defense lawyer. She had a vendetta against Mr. Baldwin and should not be practicing as a lawyer anywhere.
Why would you say that? The prosecutor had information that could be helpful to the defendant, was required by law to disclose, and did not disclose it. And then she blamed her paralegal to deflect responsibility from herself. You not understanding the complexities of this case doesn’t mean there was favoritism. A simple question: if you were on trail, and the police or prosecutors hid information that would make you free, would you be ok with that? You should delete your comment.
Wasn't your fault this happened. You shouldn't have even been there just like Trump you both it wasn't your fault just people trying to reach an agenda anyway they can... I was on the walking dead a few times with guns... glad we had a great crew that ran that part!
In all the trials I have watched in my lifetime, I have never seen so many women fuss with their hair as I did with the women who were sitting in the gallery. Haven't they heard of hair clips. It was so annoying to watch and is most insanitary as well. Wake up women! USE HAIR CLIPS and Stop touching your hair. YUK!
Her poor family, bad cops bad prosecutor don’t equal it wasn’t his fault. Still his finger pulling the trigger, still him aiming at her all gun safety 101. Wonder how many more will die and how many will get off with the “just an actor” defense. 🤦♀️
If ur bothered to find out a expert armorer is on law and crime said baldwin can point a gun pull the trigger wave the gun around because the armorer keeps the gun safe at all times
Did you start with the conclusion and assume what happened before the end? I hope you don’t go through life like that. A simple question: if you were on trial, and the police or prosecutors withheld information that could free you, would you be ok with that? You should delete your comment.
