Worth noting that while his numbers when he came back up weren't awful in a vacuum, he had been up as part of a 6-man rotation for a long stretch of consecutive games, so at the end of it *someone* had to lose their starting spot and Ryu significantly outperformed him.

@@shawnhayward8152 Manoah finished last season with one year and 130 days of MLB service. Had he been in the majors for a full year he’d have finished this season with two years and 130 days. The most recent Super Two cutoff was two years and 128 days, and the year before that it was two years and 116. A full year in the big leagues likely would have assured Manoah’s Super Two status this winter, granting him an extra year of arbitration eligibility.

@@jaymichaelboltonbut he 100% deserved and needed the demotion earlier in the season.. he wasn't terrible in those 6 games back, but if I'm understanding correctly, he would've needed to stay in MLB the entire season, right? The more recent demotion didn't change anything.

@@geezushasrisen I agree with you, but your argument regarding cole using banned substances is questionable to say the least. That is not part of the game, but it seems you are giving him a pass because you are a yankees fan. Just like the astros using camaras to steal signs, using stickum to play is not part of the game (however Cole is still a great pitcher without it please don't get offended on his behalf).
