As someone that was really sad to see the command zone just doing precon brawl for game knights, this was just what I needed for a pick me up. Great game, and the new overlay is slick
Yeah unfortunately they are becoming just a WotC puppet rather than a true commander play channel. But hey, The Command Zone deserves all the sponsorships and production support they have now. Those boys have been grinding for a really long time
I really enjoyed the brawl precon game knights episode. Watching Reid Duke dominate in a format that was so foreign to him was amazing. In addition to Melissa Detora being able to experience playing with the cards she created.
"Spells Countered: ONLY 1" I felt that. Haha! Anyways, what a great way to open up the new season. The opening animation looked soo sweet! Can't wait to watch more gameplay from you guys!
This game had literally everything. 1. It had all the new generals in great shells 2. Each deck trying to do their thing 3. And can we talk about this overlay!? I honestly believe you guys have found the Gold Standard for card representation, camera angle and lighting as well as providing pertinent info regarding the decks, players and cards This was INCREDIBLY enjoyable to watch, thanks for all the effort.
This is what I like to see. The CEDH crowd should be more experimental and try to see what commanders can do when fully optimized, even if they're not one of the small group of select cedh commanders.
Can only join in with Muddstah: the overlay looks super clean and sharp!!! Like it a lot! Also: WHAT A GAME THAT WAS!!! Sad to see Korvold not win, but it's a superb display of how bonkers that commander is... giving you free cards while doing sth. you normally do in (c)EDH is just bonkers! Congrats to Mike for coming back from 1 life and winning it! Am looking forward to future stuff!
The speed of these games is always impressive to me. I play super casually so most games go for 10+ turns. Even my best deck needs around 8-9 turns to win if i really get lucky
I never thought I would enjoy that much and understand what's happening of a commander match video! The explanations really help to get throught it, such a pleasure and an entertainment :D
I play in a 75-80% meta and I've had to dial Kenny back multiple times already. A friend noted that we was the first commander to break Chromatic Lantern he'd seen. Kenny's flexibility and general utility makes is second to none. Awesome EP and happy to see Kung Fu Kenny getting the W
Oh how I waited for that. I'm subscribing right now. This is actually my favorite channel for Commander battles, it's very dynamic and the games are always awesome. I never expected that much of interactions in the competitive scene
Loved the video, the match was amazing~ That said... I wish you showed a picture of Ryan's Gingerbread House, I bet it must have been amazing! With Korvold as the commander even? I bet there was no chance any of them could hope to compete with him in making food~
Is it me or are triggered abilities no longer shown as a little icon near the person's name? I loved that ! At first I thought Folger was missing all his fish triggers!
I'm used to seeing Treasures generated from Smothering Tithe, and so I first thought that Folger was missing all of his TITHE triggers, until it was mentioned after Windfall resolved.
Anyone else use kenrith, pergirine drake/ palichron, woth an ashnods alter or phyrexian alter to infinitley bring back and sacrife a drake or palinchron. Infinite mana
@@jonathandixson1424 Well he can be built a lot of different ways. So I wouldn't say he's a "control" general per se. He can be, but his abilities give you a lot of options.
Kenrith is a top commander tho. A card that is both good on its own as a value engine and immediately wins with infinite mana, not to mention it gives access to all 5 colors. This is the best Commander since partners came out in C16. Its only downside is that it needs colored mana to go off. I was surprised by how well Alela performed, but tbh the cards that controlled the game could've just as easily gone into any other control deck, it didn't have to be Alela in the command zone. She does provide a reasonably fast clock tho, which is nice to have on a commander.
Great new overlay, are the red to yellow bars beneath each of the names intended to change with life totals or something? I didn't see them doing much this time but they certainly look like they're there for a reason.
Seeing this game made me wish you'd make an episode where you get the main commanders from C19 (Sevinne, Kadina, Anje and Ghired) and try to get the best version of their decks to compete. It really sounds like an interesting deckbuilding challenge
I love the way you even narrate little jokes too 🤣🤣🤣 the delivery in the narration voice just hits different. 🤣 this some high quality content though. thanks for all you do 👌
Great game! Thanks for uploading! The Alela deck performed much better than I expected. One question, why does the deck not use any Rule of Law effect?
I figured Kenrith was going to make a splash in the cEDH community, but wow! I'm kind of surprised that Emry wasn't played, I thought she would also make it into cEDH, but I'll just have to keep my eye out on future episodes.
First, gain infinite mana with squee and food chain. Have squee on the battlfield when the loop ends. Cast your commander. Sac squee as part of the ETB and draw a card. Exile the dragon back into the command zone with food chain. Recast Squee. Now you can begin this loop again to draw your deck. The food chain only gives you infinite mana. The sacrifices are part of a second loop after you have infinite mana.
Is there a reason Folger doesn't Extort out one more spell when Mike was at 1 health? I can't tell if Folger didn't have any cards in hand; seemed like I pretty easy win until Mike started activating his commander to gain life.
Is there a way you can show the text on the cards on the opening hand presentation so they can just pause the screen and read what they do rather than having to go look up 18+ cards. It would really help those of us still on the front edge of the learning curve.
i gotta say.. I love getting to see the eldraine commanders at a near full power, after watcing game knights. Precon games just can't compare to full power games
Man Kenrith can literally flip from Group Hug to cEDH wombo and be arguably the best at both. I swear he gets nuttier every time I look at him. He does everything.
It's part of a hulk line. Vigean Graftmage, Torch Courier, and incubation druid. Fetch all three, then sac the courier to give the incubation druid haste to gain infinite mana.
I feel like the music needs to chill for the first couple of turns, like Ryan played an overgrown tomb and the music could have been the same as it was for the climax of inception ( bit nitpicky I know but I enjoy the slow build up and then you can start to ramp it up as the game unfolds)
