I took my dual zone snare an swapped it with the 2nd tom. Now I can use the rim of the Tom for a ride, while still having the three toms. This may be an alternative option for people who want a five piece and three cymbals!

Do you put the tom cable into the snare or just move the pads with the cables the same?
@theinfamousmartin
@theinfamousmartin 2 года назад
@@Swayze1997 i don't have this kit anymore, but I'm pretty sure you plug the Tom cable into the dual zone pad (the one that was the snare but is now the tom) and put the snare cord into the one that was your Tom but is now your snare. If that doesn't work, then just keep the cords the same, swap the Tom and snare, and just swap the sounds in the settings. I know you can change the rim sound independently from the normal head, so either option should work. Hope that helps!

I just bought my first e-kit, something I once SWORE I would never do!! I've played for 40+ years, all acoustic but NOW I have an upstairs neighbor who never leaves home. I haven't been able to play since the virus came to town. Not playing has been an unusual kind of anguish. I'm overjoyed to have found the Alesis Nitro Mesh AND your videos. It feels SOOOOO good to be able to rock-out and bother NO ONE! Love the vids and all the info. Keep it up. Thanks MkK

Great video, I even let all the adds run and I've never done that. I did a floating riser just to protect my flooring so I bought a discounted box of laminate hardwood with the foam backing attached. The stuff snaps together so they require no power tools just a hammer and cheap installation tool (Plastic Block) you can get at any home depot or lowes the planks come in a box, are just shy of four feet 47.5 inches and only 10mm thick, just snap together until you have enough to cover your kits footprint. If you find damaged or otherwise discounted or discontinued material you can get a really good deal. I don't know how well the foam backed planks will dampen the vibration transfer for the people downstairs but it can be a cheap and very easy solution for people with no tools to isolate their new kit from the floor of the home they love or the rental they wish not to damage.

Thank you for posting the video and giving your thoughts around the nitro mesh. I have been playing drums on and off for the last 15 years and given my current living situation I cannot play my acoustic drums. Been a year since I even picked up a stick. Needles to say, this has inspired me to research the electronic drum space further. Funny enough I stumbled across your Damon Che documentary and been poking through your content and found this- loving all of it! Keep it up :D

Just finished watching your video and I appreciate your input. It was also good to know what sounds van be obtained and how to change them, if so desired. I have to say I was a bit disappointed to find that your link to a list of the sound banks did not work. That would be super helpful to have. Lastly, toward the end of your video, I couldn't help but notice that you started to sound like Andy Rooney, a commentator whom I've always enjoyed for his frankness and don't care attitude. This is far and away the best video for this kit. Aside from habing to raise the height of the kit..this is really a solid kit for the money. Im gonna buy a better snare because this one doesnt have great velocity capture, ghost notes are like barely there it is like all attack on these pads. But seriously great video! I also use the left rack tom as a ride..i extend it out to make it feel closer to an acoustic kit vibe, but i never tried new pitches. You just opened up my afternoon! Thanks brother.

My question is I am looking into giving virtual drum lessons using Alesis Nitro and a Chromebook. I have a Simmons drum amp and I could purchase a webcam but I'm afraid that might make too much noise for the neighbors. I wasn't sure whether there is a way I can plug directly into the Chromebook and give lessons over the internet. Anyway thanks for the excellent videos and keep up the great work! Glad to be of service! As far as I know chromebooks allow you to use USB audio interfaces such as this one amzn.to/2R6dA74 and you could use that for the audio and the webcam on the Chomebook. I’m not sure what the options are as far as video (if that’s what you were thinking) chat since I haven’t used Chrome OS in a long time. If you wanted to have a mic going at the same time, maybe just get a little mixer with USB like this one. amzn.to/37P08dX

Your set seems so responsive! I guess I need to adjust the sensitivity settings. I bought the kit used for, I think, 65 bucks? I tried making sense of it all without ever referencing the PDF I downloaded and needless to say, it was a mess. I did a factory reset and studied guys who were saying to spread them out as much as possible, especially if you're used to acoustic drums. Turns out the previous owner had modified just about every preset pattern and it was pretty wacky. I never was that great of a drummer in the first place but this was a whole new can of worms, compared to acoustic drums. Actually I've decided to try to unlearn everything I've learned previously, (self taught), and study basic drum techniques. I love jazz drums the best. I figure if you're good at jazz, you could just about do anything. One question. The hi hat seems pretty rudimentary in that it has so few steps between completely open and completely shut. I noticed when I took it apart to clean out dust, that it has only two steps between wide open and completely shut. My question is, does adjusting the sensitivity help create a smoother transition or does that depend on the preset mode you're in? For jazz, obviously, the hu hat needs to be very sensitive and responsive. I just want to be able to keep a beat so that I can record my demos. When the hi hat seems unresponsive it throws me off.

Could you please make a short video on how to adjust the splash on the hi hat? I have gone into the settings, and tried different kits but I can't seem to get it to work. I'm starting to think my hi-hat pedal is malfunctioning? I've tried Alesis support, but haven't received any reply. Forums have also not helped. I've even done a factory reset on the kit. Maybe I'm just missing an obvious step. Thank you for this video. The versatility of this kit is the reason I bought it. Great for beginners through intermediate and up from there.

There's really no adjustment for it. Are you using a replacement hi hat pedal by chance? I've tried other hi hat controllers on the Nitro, and none of them except for the original seem to be capable of making a splash sound.

I have been a guitar player my entire life, but at 70 years old I decided that I wanted to try to learn to play the drums. Since I am not really a drummer, I don't have a really good feel for what my kit should really sound like. I would appreciated it if you could tell me what YOU feel are best "sound" numbers to set each drum and cymbal for my kit to have the sound of a simple generic overall drum kit. You can mute your pedals by cutting squash balls in half and hot glueing them to the bottom. Ive done this with mine. Squash balls are better than tennis balls because theyre smaller and theyre rubber so they don't slip. You also have a choice of squishiness.

This is amazing. Thank you. I got the Alesis Nitro Mesh as well to learn drumming, finally! I have 2 questions for you. 1. What's the size of the particle wood? 2. I have carpet flooring. Would this be stable enough to hold it? looking forward to not disturbing my downstairs neighbor :) :)

each piece was 3x4 feet, and yeah I don't see why carpet would matter

Hey there, great video(s)! Thanks for sharing your experience. What size is your mat?

Tractor Supply sells a thick rubber mat for horse stalls cheap. Can be cut up.

Demonic Sweaters For my acoustic, yes. My Nitro mesh will be here in a week. It really cuts vibration , grips the hardware and super ends any stand movement. I’ll try will the nitro. For an apartment with people below I might add DOW foam board under it, but I really like it better than any carpet I’ve ever used.

Hi i just got the Alesis Nitro Mesh and its my first electronic kit. I've watched a lot of your videos, but I was wondering if you could do one on how to use the Module ..... I know you have one that is somewhat close to it but for a newbie, I'm lost lol,, I know how to switch sounds but that's all, the manual that comes with it is pretty vague...... if that's all possible i would soooooooo appreciate it. thanks bunches,,,,Oh btw, YOUR ROCK!!!

Thank you, I have a ton of videos on the Nitro already and plenty of videos on using the module. I also have a full manual at my website demonicsweaters.com/2019/06/alesis-nitro-mesh-kit-complete-list-of-drum-sounds-and-missing-manual/. I won't be making any more videos on the Nitro because I'm playing a different kit now.

Hi thanks for the informative video. When your recording the video do u have ear phone jack on the module plugged into your recoding device. When I try to record a drumming session directly off the mic on my phone all it picks up is the sound of hitting a rubber hi hat or ride cymbal. Thanks

Great video's, I am really enjoying your content. What is the size of the Carpet that you have you Nitro Mesh sitting on? It would really help me to see if that kit would sit in my space. I thank you kindly,
