Both one of them recording the track for the Blacklist album and a separate behind the scenes look at making the video. As mentioned above, between The Warning being brought on board and the time the music had to be to Metallica was a week. The video was recorded a bit later. Neither Alessia nor The Warning just do covers for no reason. But since Metallica asked this is what they produced. When they did this the idea was to start out more poppy to match Alessia's style then make it more rock in the style of The Warning and then finish it off with the nod to the metal style of the original. So Alessia in Canada, The Warning in Mexico, Matt Squire had to travel to Mexico to produce it using good internet software for the sound and then, since The Warning had just finished several months in New Jersey working on their 3rd album with David Bendeth they asked him to mix it. I have not really heard any direct comment from Metallica about this particular submission. About 53 artists/groups had been asked to participate. By chance since Alessia begins with A this wound up as the first track of the Blacklist album.

@@lonelywind3511 I think it’s safe to say that Metallica was happy with it. First, they said they didn’t want a carbon copy cover of the original song, and this was certainly one of the most original rearrangements on the Blacklist album. Second, The Warning were not originally listed on the original 2021 Welcome To Rockville playbill until after the Blacklist album came out and then they opened the same day as Metallica. Coincidence? Finally, Metallica apparently doesn’t have any problem with them now playing their version regularly in concert (though any profits would go to charity anyway).

@@KansaSCaymanS I've heard that they received a thumbs up email and know that Metallica sent them a Black album boxed set. But while I don't follow Metallica I know that they performed with one or two of the artists and don't know how the actual Metallica members felt about this. I know that Kirk Hammett at least had good things to say about their 2014 cover. Personally of course, I think this was the most original cover of the Blacklist and most closely followed the instructions from Lars as to what was wanted for the Blacklist. But I'm a little biased...🙂

In original that riff is played out by the end….it works for the warning cause they avoided it up until that point. It was very cool.

In this day and age separation doesn’t mean much…..you can record in any studio remotely in real time while video conferencing if you’re tech savvy…..I’m not. 😆 it is fantastic no matter how it was done!! Thanks for subbing!

Il est un peu tôt pour te demander ton avis sur leur "son" ou leur style. J'ai encore du mal à le définir de mon côté. J'y retrouve du "garage" des années 80, des "vibes" des année 90, un peu de "heavy", un peu de "grunge" ... Etc , mais aussi un pointe de "Pop". Bref, j'aime ce cocktail. Quand tu auras écouté 10 a 15 titres, je suis curieux d'avoir ta définition. Désolé pour le français, mais c'est plus simple pour moi. Belle journée !

@@michaelgoyettemusic Hi Mike, These 3 young teenagers have brought me back to the Rock that I had left behind for almost 25 years (I'm 59 y.o). It's a little early to ask your opinion on their "sound" or their style of music. I still have a hard time defining it myself. I find a bit of 80's garage, midi 90's vibes, a bit of "heavy", a bit of "grunge"... and also a bit of "pop" and I like this "cocktail" a lot. When you'll have listened to 10 to 12 tracks, I'm curious to get your definition of their sound. New answer : Hi Mike, no hurry for your answer. The question to remember is : how do you define their sound ? that said, it may not be so important to put them in a box. The main thing is that I like their sound, their lyrics, their melodies, their riffs and that it's a great pleasure to listen to them. I also really like the young Ale on bass. Her rhythms seem simple and basic but I find them solid and always very timely (on point). She is for me the metronome of the trio, but the 2 other sisters are also very talented. From their last album you could listen to : Choke, Evolve, Z, Error, Money, Martirio (in spanish) or Revenant wich is very different. Choke was the 1st track released on 2021, may be you could start with this one. Have a nice day 🎸🎶🤟

I actually dated a girl from Cleveland for a while cause we were there so much…..but it came to an abrupt end when she drove up here to see me and left her wet towel on my bed after a shower….lol….I was a bit of a jerk in my youth! ;)
