I really like your analysis about the afterlife part, I don't remember many people talking about it? Compared to the other pure fantasy project Gloryhammer, Alestorm does have more mentioning about afterlife, surprisingly. In the early songs when they focused on more realistic theme there's captain Morgan's curse, and hall of damned (pirate song). In recent songs the Cape Fear River did literally portraying ghosts of the band, even through a funny way, and this track is on a more serious side They don't have much emotional, serious songs, early ones focused more on historical prospective, and this is a mix of inner heart and fantasy. I really like it.
This is the third album Patty has worked on and her role has only grown. I'm curious to see whether both sides realize that they can no longer do without each other.
@@alpine_newt She was announced as a guest at a recent concert. She isn't yet. Patty also doesn't like to commit. But her role has continued to grow and that raises questions.
I don't think you can really call them Scottish anymore when those only one "Scottish" band member who is left has English parents and is now an American citizen. The rest are English, Hungarian and Northern Irish.
