They don't usually do animation, and they started off with some relatively serious music but they became more and more hilarious as time went on. Alestorm is a Scottish Pirate Metal Band that is huge in Canada. Rubber Duckie with black eye patch is the mascot. This song is my favorite of all their songs. I am not much into profanity and some songs contain too many "coarse" lyrics for my taste. "Drink" is an excellent exception. Great tune too..❤ The animation for this song was done by Alex Henderson, from a firm here in Ontario, Canada. Most songs are not animated. To a long time fan there is much going on here besides the main song. P.A.R.T.Y. Captain Yarface is the lead vocalist of another Pirate Metal Band known as Rum-Ahoy. The Crystal Coconut stolen from his hand and the crown from that pirates head are references to previous songs/albums. Always keep captions on as weird funny things can often be found in other songs too. Too me this song is the perfect "Baking Cookies" song. Keeps me going when I am flagging on the 4th variety and my feet are starting to get sore. Not as young as I used to be. While I love this band and they are very fun, they rely more on shock value, similar to Ellectric Callboy, than intellectal humour like ManowaR of Steel. In my opinion, ManowaR of Steel is the Ace of Diamonds while Alestorm is the Jack of Spades. Different audiences but both fun. 🥰🥰Hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦

The Battle of Cape Fear River song is my favorite video one. (But eff bombs galore, fair warning). Made up story about Captain Hook. Turn CC on for the coolest guitar solo lyrics ever. Alestorm released a new video recently: Voyage of the Dead Marauder feat. Patty Gurdy (German hurdy gurdy player & singer). She had previously featured for Alestorm (Zombies ate my Pirate Ship) as well as for dArtagnan (Farewell). By the way, it's a must to turn on subtitles on every official video by Alestorm! Drink!
Hey, I'm a bit late for this one but Alestorm is always good for some fun. It would be really epic if you do the whole concert in Tilburg. It is available on the Napalm Records channel. They are super fun live. The live version of "Drink" is from that concert, if I remember correctly. If you ever have a shitty day, "Fucked with an Anchor" is a great song.
Welcome to the genre "Pirate Metal." These guys, and Visions of Atlantis do pretty much all pirate metal songs. All of Alestorm's songs are great and their videos are super fun. (Not usually animated.) Start with their songs "Drink" and "Mexico" and you will have a pretty clear idea of what they are about. VoA were inspired by old legends of Atlantis, and musically by Nightwish. When you have checked those out you will be ready for Dwarven Metal from bands like Wind Rose. (They sing about mining, have beef with Elven Metal bands and I just love their lyrics: "I am a Dwarf and I'm digging a hole, diggy diggy hole, diggy diggy hole!"

So not usually animated but saw in an interview Chris said a fan did an animated video for an earlier song and asked him to do an official one for this. Didn’t give him any direction just the song which think cool of the band. Still remember first time saw them live in ivory blacks in Glasgow many years ago
Alestorm is a very famous Pirate Metal Band from Perth in Scotland, they just don't take themselves seriously and just love being pirates. They are well known in the UK and have a big following of fans. 💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴💙💛🇺🇦🇺🇦 us British don't need subtitles because we speak English and understand each other perfectly. I am English and I understand my UK brother's and sister's weather they are from Scotland, Wales or my late mum's country of Northern Ireland. I also understand citizens from the Republic of Ireland ( my late Dad's country) when they speak English. I understand anyone from any country that speaks English, so as for subtitles I don't think it's very necessary. I only use subtitles for those speaking there own nation's language apart from some American's especially young Black Americans who speak some type of unknown language with a bit of English put in.
If you want to try something different, I recommend a band called Feuerschwanz. I recommend songs like Ding, Momento Mori, Ultima Nocte, Gimme Gimme Gimme ( abba cover ) and Krampus.
