Actually... wearing an eye patch over a healthy eye is historically accurate. It's so that when you go under deck, you won't be blind for a few seconds... which can be rather lethal when plundering someone else' ship. So when going inside, you'd just flip the eye patch up and your darkness adjusted eye would see well enough.
Let me see if I got the story of the video: capitain dude discovers a party island full of treasure, so he frees some dudes to asamble his crew and crash that party. Then they rob them while distracted and blow the whole thing afterwards Classy.
Anthony: I’ve never seen that, captions for lyrics that aren’t there. Alestorm fans: Time for y’all to watch “The Battle of Cape Fear River” with captions on.
Thanks for the shoutout , this was a tough one to mix indeed blending all the real instruments with the 200 tracks of electronic stuff. As for the accordion: it’s actually the cheapest shittiest vsti I could find, we’ve tried all kinds of “good” sounding vsti and even real accordions before, but this one just works for Alestorm, been using it for the last 4 or so albums.
FYI the lead vocalist for Alestorm is also the keyboard player for the awesome power metal band Gloryhammer. You should check them out! I highly recommend the songs "Hootsforce" or "Universe On Fire" (stick to official videos as many of the live videos online have poor audio quality).
You may have been thinking of hurdy gurdy when explaining that accordionish sound. It's a funny instrument, basically you turn the crank which turns the wheel and it plays like a violin, but then you have keys that tighten the strings and produce different notes, look it up, it's definitely a unique instrument
Song suggestions: Gary Moore - Don't let me be misunderstood Black Sabbath - War Pigs Uriah Heep - Lady in black Kreator - Toxic Trace Helloween - I'm alive The Crickets - That'll be the Day The Hollies - Long cool Woman (in a black Dress) Ram Jam - Black Betty Heart - Barracuda Deep Purple - Smoke on the Water Kim Wilde - Cambodia Alan Sivell - Son ar Chistr Johann Sebastian Bach - Prelude and Fugue in C minor, BWV 847 Johann Pachelbel - Canon In D Greensleeves Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Eine kleine Nachtmusik
Just wanted to also state that about 8:12 he's a fake. Most pirates didn't wear an eyepatch to cover a missing eye. Quite the contrary, They actually wore them to improve their night vision. If you cover one eye for a while and then switch sides in the dark, you might notice that you can see better out of the one eye. It was used that way for night raids and combat. Just switch the patch over the other eye and you have a major advantage over your enemies in the dark.
Great reaction. Anyway, can i request your reaction to superb band from japan? The band is call "Lovebites" They all The Beautiful Queens heavy metal band right now in the earth. In my opinion it sounds pretty similar to the hook in The Offspring's Original Prankster. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qp6Qn8IwPf8.html But maybe that's just me.
Heeey guys, great job with your channel! Question: are you doing reviews of new metal music from Chile (Southamerica)? We've just released our second LP (mastered by Tony Lindgren) and we would love to know your reactions, we have 2 videoclips and also the full album. Any e-mail contact to send you everything in case the answer is yes? thank you in advance and keep up the good work!
why does it look like you're greenscreening starting at 3:30? I can tell you're NOT cuz there's shadows moving on the keyboard, but it LOOKS like it and that confuses me
