Problem is...this video is actually the last time we ever rehearsed, haha. We haven't done any practices since Elliot joined the band. He kinda just makes it up as he goes along.
He can still change songs midway through though. To have that kind of skill is a gift from the gods. (If you want to see this for yourself, I recommend the Live In Tilburg 2019 on napalm records. Elliot also has a keyboard cam.)
I jumped to a random part of the video and was immediately greeted by four grown men screaming their lungs out. 10/10, this is my favorite band for a reason.
Dani plays a Dean Razorback V 255 guitar with EMG 85/81 pickups, into a Digidesign Elevenrack amp modeller thingy. He's got 1 patch set up on there; a generic 5150-style distortion tone. No pedals, no switches, no nothing. We keep it simple :)
@Stryder46 Just to let you know, Ian didn't actually play drums on the first 2 albums. We had a session drummer come in and play random crap, and we glued it all together in protools.
I seriously doubt anyone is watching this now, nearly 10 years since it came out, but with all this new shitty rap coming out, I feel it’s about time we forget about it all and start listening to 6:20 on a 10 minute loop
I love how you guys make solid sounding albums but just act like its easy and are just having fun! Both Alestorm gigs I have been to have just been outright fun and great to be at. Come back to the UK asap!
@HyperChris Thank you, man! I'm practicing now on wooden planks so I won't screw up on the keytar. I want you to know that I think you're doing a great job, the new album is just awesome! Have a nice day. Greetings from Laurenz.
Currently preparing my mind & liver for your gig in Pratteln on august 5th. Glad you practiced years ago, once. Hail to the terror squid and RIP in the depths below, you precious little cam. 🚮
Not everyone can do it, but those of us that can typically find that it helps us relax and not worry, much like Todeshaendler666 said. Though it's easy to over do it, especially at a rehearsal that's going well because then it feels like you're just hanging out and not actually there to rehearse haha
Graspop lets crunch those invisible pinapples. Haha you guys were awesome! Hope you'll come back next year :) by the way: that was an awesome wall of death XD
Please make a new rehearsal video including Eliot. Saw you guys about 1 month ago and you were so awesome that i dont wanna listen to your album anymore because you are live so much better :D
@HyperChris Seeing you guys on the 4th of Feb in Plymouth :D, Chris Bowes you are my idol so stoked for this gig, plus this reminds me of our band practise but you just make it through some songs :L
I mean, I know this video is 7 fucking years old but I'm sitting here and die of laughing. By the way, I use the same Guitar Stripe on my Bass as you do on the Keytar! Nice!
hey chris it was a realy nice show you put on the 18th but just a question where did the 5th persone come from? i havn't seen him before and i didn't realy notice him on the 9th of october but that could be because we stood in an odd spot also did you spend the 60-70 cents i gave you wisely? ;) xD greetings the random guy who kept walking up to you last sunday
I always wanted a Roland AX-7 but I'm intimidated by MIDI controllers... instead I've always stuck with the AX-Synth, RK-100S and now the AX-Edge (my pride and joy) since they have on-board sounds. Keytars FTW.
