I thought the rules for blue flag is that you must let the lapping car pass first, even if you are faster at that point, and you can re-overtake after. There's really no explaining ignoring the flag for an entire lap.

You need to be 4 to 5 seconds a lap faster to overtake in Monaco. So, what Albon meant is that he was 4 sec a lap faster than Leclerc and he was sure he could overtake him again if he let him pass? Suuuuure

There's nothing "awkward" about abiding to the rules. I like him, but that was not the right thing to do.

Albon is worthy of way better than the car he is in, finishing P13, DNF (hit by Stroll *), P10, P11, P9, P18, DNF (front end). This compares favorably with Alonso's results P9, DNF, P17, DNF, P11, P9, P7 with much more experience and a far better car, or Gasly's DNF, P8, P9, P12, DNF, P13 P11, also in a better car. As for the blue flag, on slick tyres and only one racing line, Albon could as easily knock LeClerc out of the race as let him pass by going off line. Even if Albon had let LeClerc thru at the first blue flag, LeClerc showed he was unable to pass Verstappen who was on much worse tyres by the end, just like Sainz couldn't pass Perez. * Note: In Saudi Arabia Stroll and Albon collided when Stroll cut the corner as Albon was over 1/2 way up alongside him. Albon was assessed 2 penalty points. But at the same corner earlier Stroll had given Hamilton plenty of room in a similar situation. In Monaco, Ocon was penalized 5 seconds for turning in on Hamilton in the same manner that Stroll had cut off Albon.

so he first disrespects the blue flags and now debates that he is quicker than charles anyways at that point in race, he's freaking unbelievable. I'd say he is just messing with the rules here and FIA, race directors are just deaf-blind on this unacceptable impeding.

Wth is this toxicity Theres been many cases over the years of people a lap down with a tyre advantage trying to unlap themselves and getting blue flags without penalties. Not to mention drivers usually follow what their TP and Engineer tell them to do regarding blue flags. Fault lies on the stewards for not applying penalties or anything properly tbh.

Alex is a very talented driver, and he will be a great driver one day. He just needs to find the right team at the right time.

He is undercover for RB. He went to Williams just to take pictures of Mercedes engine.

Albon is a great driver he has already scored points for Williams in the first season and it took Russel 3 years to do that. I think that he deserves some respect to his name, having a Williams doing that well is unheard of until Alex came.

I honestly believe Albon would do better in Alpha Tauri or McLaren.

Alex was a victim of his own successes. If they had let him stay at red bull in the new car it could have been a different story. We'll never know now but Perez justifies their decision. But he's on the come back so that's good

Albon was driving fastest laps at that moment. So yeah he was faster and not the slower car getting overtaken. He had fesh tyres.

Monico was a boring race, because it's ALMOST impossible to pass. You can pretty much determine the race after 20 laps. It's a beautiful place though.

If you are racing for position that would be alright but being laped is completely different. Albon just ruined Leclers race for nothing .

The race director/s were a joke.....delaying the start of the race, the Williams clearly caused Ferrari to lose ground n the red Bull cutting the pit exit line....the rules of this sport are so arbitrary....

I think FIA should bench him one race with a communication saying "Drivers who do not know the basic rules are not allowed to race". It's not GT is F1 and the blue flag rules are extremely strics because until last year aero disturbance would impact the lapping car far before being in the gearbox of the lapped car

It is not up to you to decide whether you can pass Charles again. F1 has rules. 3 blue flags and then penalty. It is that simple. Respect the leaders, you are driving a bloody Williams. If it wasn't for Williams, you wouldn't even be in F1.

Albon's super licence needs to be brought up for review. It's apparent that he feels that he can skirt any rules and protocols at anytime he feels it's in his own twisted interest. A blue flag directed at you means to get the hell out of the way and let the car behind thru. Immediately. It is no longer up for a debate or personal interpretation. It was almost a blatant blocking tactic that did nothing for himself, but did a world of benefit for his former team, who he is still attached to. Sorry but Albon is such a bad character in F1 im sure he is a nice guy normally but he cant stand any type of pressure. In that red bull seat he once cried out loud that they are racing him to hard like bro what you expect this is F1. These things can cost a WDC in one or the other direction (and we already had a williams driver gifting verstappen a Championship) if you have blue flags pull aside thats it, thats the regulations.
