What I love most is how different the acoustic version is compared with the original. I don’t think you could ever imagine what the studio version is like if you heard this version first and knew nothing else about it. Timeless. It would surely pull on the heartstrings of eras passed. Even a caveman. Play this in the woods 100,000 years ago and a crowd would most certainly form 🫡♥️
Alex Clare has completely blown me away with this unplugged version of "Too Close." He pours his heart into all of his music and he sings with his soul. He is, in my opinion one of the most talented male vocalist/musicians I have heard in the last several years. His music makes me feel. Absolutely beautiful!

After watching several covers about this song,i come back here like "fuck it,this one is just perfect" there its something on his voice that makes this songs 12/10 xd
Good question! The only info about him I can find is from 2014. It's like he vanished! I've listened to him for years now, but only recently "rediscovered" him. Such a brilliant and talented musician. I really miss him! Would love to hear new music from him.

June 2021 And I am still absolutely in love with this song and this version of it best of all others! Gotta be about 10 years by now.. or it just feels longer cos i so infatuated with him.
This is how you can tell he is a genuinely good singer. Take away all the synthesizer audio and have him do a raw vocal cover with minimal instruments. He does it very well, and has a very powerful voice. Cant wait until he releases a new album.
After 4 years of releasing, I found this song by accident and now I am obsessed it. The cover version from The voice of Germany brought me to here; even though that one was perfect as this, I still wanted to hear the original inspiration. And, the song made me addicted. It harmonized with my soul. Then, I couldn't stop replaying it.
I remember hearing this song on a windows 7(8?) Commerical and i had to look it up. Me and my husband loved it. We would blast it in the car and sing it loud 😁 He passed away in 2016, unexpectedly(he'd just turned 30). Everytime I listen to this, I am sent back to those memories and his smile. It hurts but it also makes me smile. I miss him.
