Alex Cora Reveals Reason for Alex Verdugo Trade to Yankees In Exclusive Interview 

Cora's full of shit about what he said about those unknown pitchers. He hated duggie.

I didn't care for the Verdugo trade at first but with the Yankees getting Juan Soto I feel better about it now. I think the change of scenery will help him and he's a pretty good hitter and is a huge upgrade from Oswaldo Cabrera Jake Bauers and Billy McKinney.

They should've traded Verdugo right before the deadline passed in July. He actually had value at the time and could have netted us a better haul (like Seth Lugo or Jordan Montgomery) than the 3 minor leaguers from the Yanks but that was Bloom's doing (and a reason he was let go). I'm just glad both are gone altogether especially Alex. All talk but no walk and his attitude problems were becoming a nuisance throughout the years. Some other Red Sox commentators I've listened to remarked on how he was "only" benched a few times so it wasn't a problem. That's a few times too many and definitely not indicative of a player worth keeping for the long haul. Now that the Red Sox FO freed up another 9 million from his contract, they need to go out and nab 2 starters from free agency. Those 2 SHOULD be Yamamoto and Imanaga, the latter of which is being vastly overlooked by baseball media outlets even though he has superb control and could work as a middle of the rotation starter. Then they need to look for a 2B or SS option AND a RH power bat outfielder (no to Gurriel Jr. but maybe to Teoscar Hernández ). EDIT: Changed the bit about Seth Lugo. Getting pitchers and places mixed up.

How are we so much better now that we got 3 bum relief pitchers? 1 ERA was north of 4 the other 2 never sniffed MLB level ball. What a JOKE this great franchise has become.

Cora said they made the trade because they need pitching, so these pitchers going to pitch right away, this is a joke!!

When I hear Cora talk, I get the feeling he could be a General Manager and be very competent.
