@@goldrushgoldrush-jv7nd It's by no means the hardest climb in the world. It's definitely one of the most exposed climbs anyone has ever done though, and that's damn impressive.
Man if someone can do what he did they deserve to have a movie about themselves that shit is more insane than any sports feat and I’m a huge basketball fan
We did a 3 day hike when we were 14, and one girl got her dad to pack her stuff so he packed 2 bricks at the bottom of her bag as a lesson to pack her own stuff so she knows what's in there
@@HephaestusHammer true, if you have a terrible father that does it because he doesn’t care about you😂 when instead you could think a little deeper and realize sometimes people need to learn lessons in life. What dads are for
@@brockroundy9279 I understood the intended lesson. I disagree with the method. A child asks their father to pack their bag. Lesson 1 How about you pack it together, explaining how to balance it and weighing the value of having some things on hand verses the literal weight in your bag. Lesson 2 Tricking a child who trusts you for multiple painful days as an object lesson. Do they learn the object, or do they learn not to trust you? When I was about the same age I had a mentor trick me publicly as an object lesson. I certainly heard what they were trying to tell me, but what's stuck with me and effected my behavior from that day forward was the broken trust. There are people you should be able trust. A father is one of them.
Reminds me of the movie the eiger sanction when Clint Eastwood and another guy get to the top of a climb the guy asks Clint if he wants a beer. Clint looks shocked and says you carried beers up that? The guy laughs and says no you did and unzips Clints bag
He isn't free climbing here. He wouldn't have a pack if he was. He is being a baby, and nothing more. Autistic people are so shitty when it comes to jokes. Hanold is obviously far on the spectrum and clearly has a narcissistic personality, too
Carrying a 2 lbs rock is not the same as pushing someone off a bike and intentionally hurting them… All this is, is a guy on the spectrum that is socially inept and doesn’t like jokes.
Pulled this gag a few times. Standing in formation with packs for long hours, we'd pick a guy and slip one rock in at a time. After a few hours he's going man this pack just keep getting heavier. When he finally realized something was up, wed slipped at least 50lb of rocks in there lol. He was not happy.
Protect honnold. At all costs. He’s a national treasure. I know there like a 30% chance I’ll wake up one day to an article saying “he died doing what he loved”
He's got a point though. Unplanned expenditure of energy when you're about to commit to free climbing something could absolutely hinder his ability to judge what to do and not do while climbing.
Arguably one of the most important clips of Alex we could all see. That subtle reminder that he is indeed a human and not some climbing cyborg from the future. He is so chill and calm it’s uncanny. Seeing moments of true annoyance or anxiety helps put what he has managed to accomplish into a greater perspective and tells us all that we have the same strength within us.
I actually think it reinforces the idea that he is some climbing cyborg from the future with no time for humans silly games. The dude is on the spectrum.
god, what is wrong with you people. Who cares, the jokes aren't just for you, and if you can't handle them, then go out and do stuff by yourself, cause nobody wants you around. Good ridance.
if you factor in how many times honnold has probably almost killed cedar just due to his adventurous capacity, Id say it probably evens out. lol. it's a proper sitcom bromance lol
