This family should get academy awards for their great acting in trying to portray the most perfect family in the USA. Everything was great. The family is chock full of greatness. Every relationship is great. Yet they all know Alex left a path of destruction to every client whose lives were destroyed. He destroyed his whole families lives. He stole from his own family and destroyed the lawfirm his brother was a partner in. But according to his brother, his family is great🤣🤣

The way they talk about Paul, Buster, and Alex leaving things everywhere; mainly Paul. They make it seem like it's something normal or something funny or cute. In reality it's because they had so much money that they didn't care about anything, everything was disposable to them. Nothing had sentimental value to them because if you have something you really care about, cherish, or you worked hard to buy something you are not going to leave it just anywhere; all the time, every time. That's really sad. Just goes to tell you a lot. That's why they were spoiled brats and that's why Alex annihilated his family, they were disposable to him.

When an uncle sheds more realistic tears emotions and empathy than the own father/husband speaks volumes

Save your sympathy. This man didn’t search for Mallory, instead he hauled his brothers boat. He hauled out drunken Paul’s overturned car and berated his terrified girlfriend for calling 911. He helped recover Maggie s phone (no tears then) which AM was so keen to show he’d called to establish his alibi. But he didn’t help unlock Paul’s phone, though the code was easy (Paul’s DOB). He flew to the Bahamas with Alex after his financial crimes were uncovered, probably to hide money. Went to Las Vegas with Buster. Took guns out of Moselle after the killings (no tears then)…….ad infinitum

He said he thought it was overblown that Paul killed a girl while driving his boat drunk? If I thought that, I would never admit it. Shows they are oblivious to how the majority of people function in the world.

I am sure many people do know this and also do not know this. Notice How he speaks about the feeders on the hunting property. How the heck is it hunting when you put feeders on your property to feed the very animals you all murder/ hunt. I personally don’t agree with this. It’s BS. The animals go on the property because they get fed on the property then are shot! I guess it’s no different then what Alec did to Maggie and Paul! Yes I am being a wise ass, because it outrages me. All AM had to do to be proven innocent was hand over the clothes he was wearing in that tree video. This whole trial would of never happened. Instead he lied and lied and wouldn’t turn over the clothes. To me that means he’s 100% guilty. Plus why didn’t he care about finding the killer? He don’t even remember what his last words to Maggie was.

I find it interesting that this is the man who was allowed to load up and drive off with Paul's wrecked boat from where it sat immediately following that wreck and sure enough, despite living an hour away, he was right there in the middle of a Murdaugh crime scene once again.

Let me tell you, not everything is as it seems. My ex husband was very affectionate with me in public, but at home it was a completely different story! Nobody would ever believe that we had a volatile relationship.

Isn't this the guy that the police let haul away the boat that Paul was driving drunk and killed a young woman? It is so sad that the parents couldn't even view the boat at the scene, but the parents of the drunk driver and his uncle was allowed to go right up to the boat and his uncle hauled the evidence away.

Especially after seeing the Netflix program I’m not at all impressed with this guy. He actively helped clean things up like moving guns out of a property after the murders. Wtf isn’t HE being prosecuted ???

I’m not buying his reasons for cleaning up. I think he’s sincere in his grief but I also think he was protecting his brother. It’s what these folks seem to do.

These ppl are all so ridiculous...they all say they had no idea about his drug addiction...they had no idea he was stealing money...but yet they know..they just know he was so distract and destroyed in the days after the murder!!! I’ve never seen a witness be so animated and story tell. Most witnesses just answer in a few words as possible 😂

One thing that stands out is how influential the family was in the area spanning over decades; if the wife & son were genuinely murdered by some unknown individual, the police would stop at nothing to solve the case. There'd be mountains of evidence & leads, and there'd be a task force to speak with the media & follow up on every clue ; but here they "investigated" in a very haphazard manner, told the media there was no risk to the public from the shooter/s & seemed okay with burying the case. There wasn't any real interest in the case until it got big enough in the media to warrant another look at it by LE; but if that interest hadn't been there this case probably would never have made it into a courtroom. This family have been able to avoid the consequences of their actions for so long, they seem to believe they are untouchable, and after watching the Netflix series abt the family it's pretty clear that lying is just another thing they mastered during their privileged lives.

Looks like the whole family was allowed to sit and listen to the trial... But they are also defense witness. This is strange. Alex murdaugh is guilty.

It’s crazy how fast that family came crashing down but I honestly believe their corruption started over a 100 years ago and they probably got bolder and bolder, generation by generation, until Alex.

John Marvin didn't fool me. He participated in the cover up regarding the boat case that resulted in a teenager's death. John Marvin pranced right up to the scene of the crash and hauled the wrecked boat away when the dead teenager's parents were REFUSED access to scene of the accident. Utterly disgusting. This guy is no different than the his brothers.

You know your family so well, but you only know what they WANT you to know. Every family has their skeletons. Things they don't want the extended family or others to know, see or hear. This is true of literally every family.

The brothers are as big liars as Alex. I saw them on tv looking the interviewer directly in the eye and telling her they never knew of Paul ever drinking.

Maggie and Alex should have been arrested a long time ago for enabling their underage son’s alcoholism, he became such a drunk! 1:08:23 says everything! Judge Newman spoke of this in his sentencing! His brother describe this nightmare that Alex wakes up from, And I am sure he is seeing what he did to Maggie and Paul! He is reliving those moments! And I hope he continues seeing them! Until he admits to what he did he can never heal from it!

I actually liked this guy (still think Alec is 1,000% guilty), but this brother seemed really down to earth and genuine. Until he said the “boating accident was blown way out of proportion”. Yeah, he lost me there. I’m not going to value testimony from a witness when they say something so blatantly out of touch with reality.

There are points in his testimony that are lies and points where he is being truthful. Just like Alex and Buster when they started lying they grab the Mike , ask for water, grab tissues.

OK… how could such a wealthy family, let alone a member who owned a farm equipment, leasing company, have so darned many problems with vehicles? Those excuses may have worked when they were 18 years old, but really? There was something behind all this truck switching.

Then goes on to talk about how he felt compelled to "clean his nephew's brains off the ground", while his killer brother sits there faking emotion like the true sociopath he is. Too bad this guy can't see the truth (and the killer) when it's staring him In the face or he does but like the mafia, this family stands by each other no matter what.

Wait...the brother of the accused murderer is allowed to clean up the crime scene less than 24 hours after the crime??? Unbelievable.

The biggest take away from this testimony is the difference between this uncles true grief at the loss of Paul vs “The Alex Show”. But after he makes the statement that his brother Alex has been completely cooperative with authorities the entire time, regardless of the big lie - the rest of his testimony loses all credibility. (Damn, at first I was thinking this was the “good” brother🤥) Don’t think the defense thought this one through.

I have never seen a family more focused on death in my life! All that hunting with such young kids. What kind of empathy do they learn from that? The adults clearly had none. It's not the 1800s where hunting is feeding the family out of necessity. It was about power and cruelty with these people!!

The brother isn’t the least credible, but now we have a pretty good idea who probably helped Alex after the murders. Hearing that John Marvin took buster to Vegas made me think about gambling. Alex wasn’t spending his stolen money all on pills. What is another way to blow through cash? Gambling. It’s the fastest way to go through millions, and gamblers are as hard to treat as addicts.

So you called your police friend SPECIFICALLY because your truck was breaking down on the way to a family emergency.. And this police friend - who met you in the middle of the night at your specific request to make sure you get to this family crisis, gets out ahead of you and leaves you behind.. 🤔 Why do all their stories seem so incredible?

I always thought they got every part of a dead body, this is the first case I’ve ever heard of where they left brains, and other pieces of the body at the scene of a crime. I’ve even watched cases where it would take them days to find little children’s bones, but they didn’t stop until they found them all. I do not believe a family member is allowed by law to go to the Scene of a Crime being investigated. I really don’t know what to think at this point in the trial. When my ex’s mom and dad was trying to get custody of my sons years ago, my mother, or his was not allowed into the Court Room until it was time for them to testify. Of course, I won custody of my 2 sons, I said that to say this, how are witnesses allowed to watch the case, they are going to have to testify at. I feel for the mom, and son, what a tragic way to die. This trail has been going on, with this man half the time he’s crying, in between smiling. I don’t think they will ever find out the real truth to what really happened. It’s such a sad situation for the family members that were not involved. Plus what kind of parents are not going to know where their son is, when he’s out in a boat, drinking way under age, so sad that young girl had to lose her life so young, at someone drunk being stupid. Sometimes I wonder is all this really real!!! They got every one so mixed up by now, you really don’t know what to believe, except for 5 people really are dead. The Father, the mother, the son, the young girl, and what in the hell does that beautiful young boy that was a twin, have to do with dragging his name into this case. He’s the “perfect” witness. He knows enough about crime scenes to call his police officer “friend” to ask if it was okay to go to the crime scene. Why not call the detectives on the case? Also, he’s so overwhelmed with grief that he cleans the freakin crime scene. Again, he knew enough about crime scenes that he paused to ask if it was okay to go to a crime scene but not enough to pause and ask himself if it’s okay to clean up the crime scene. Something I've noticed after watching John Marvin and Buster (Richard Alexander) Murdaugh's testimonies is that they both seem 'practiced', the same way a politician would be. Mannerisms, tone of voice, hand gestures, choice of words.... the men in the Murdaugh family conditioned themselves to appear affable, approachable, and honest. Buster's soft tone when he interjects "That's right" throughout his testimony shows he was trained in this way, in my opinion. We do know that Buster was removed from his university for plagiarism and I'm sure this gentleman sells a lot of equipment with his affability.

I’ve never heard of a family member cleaning up biological matter at a crime scene. Even if Alex didn’t murder his family, this trial has exposed a truly weird family.

It just goes to show society how a psychopath can fool everyone close to him. The family members will be the ones to defend him, but moreover, when the cognitive bias wears off... They'll be the ones who have the most difficulties coming to terms that the man they knew was his fake mask. This guy has watched the trial, as has Buster. They both know Alec, whom they tirelessly cover for, killed his wife and son. I think they are worried about what Alex will help string them up for of they don't cover up this crime as much as possible. They are covering for Alex like they are trying to save their own skin. I hope the police look into them. There is clear evidence that they are in on some of Alec's crimes. I see no sign that they feel Alec every did anything wrong. That's pretty messed up. The police did not secure the scene, they did not get a jump on evidence. This is all super fishy!!!

If this man is lying (and i personally feel like certain things don’t add up with him), he certainly has a way about him of making you feel sad for him and almost a way in making you believe the things he says. Something about him just makes me feel heartbroken/sadness for him. He seems like he’s a nice/believable man, but then again, I can’t figure out why he was able to go take the boat after the boating accident and stuff like that.
