Felt very sorry for the Judge on this case, apparently he’d buried his own son two weeks prior, following an illness, it must have been so hard having Alec in front of him every day, knowing HE TOOK his sons life. I disagree- Paul and the Cook boy where taking turns at the wheel. They all knew Paul very well , they knew he had a drinking problem, and the fact he had a personality disorder. A dangerous one! The other boy was taking the wheel from time to time. At least when Paul was not capable. The other kids in the boat said that. But that does not make him responsible. I just wish he had taken over the wheel. I believe one of the bigger boys could have shut his mouth and sit him down. Unfortunately neither did. Rest in piece Mallory ♥️

The video on Paul's own phone sealed the deal / convicted his father for brutally murdering him and his mother. If this isn't sweet revenge in typical Murdaugh style, I don't know what is. Smart*ss Alex assumed if he blew his sons brains out, and gunned down his wife, he'd never get caught. For someone with a bad reputation as his, he isn't too bright.

Not that I'd wished he would have gotten off, but I was surprised he didn't just destroy both phones, like with a hammer, and then disposed of them somewhere in the ditch or the swamp or whatever. He obviously didn't, and that was the break that got the conviction for Alan Wilson, Creighton Waters, John Meadors, and all the rest of the state's prosecution team. That one video on Paul's phone was the straw that broke the camel's back for Alex Murdaugh.

Maggie was already living on her own at the Edisto Beach House 95% of the time, plus she had consulted with a divorce lawyer. It's no surprise that Alec had her on the hit list for many months before the murders.

No, he was addicted to opiates for years. There is far too much evidence showing it. Maggie and Paul texts, Blanca knew, his brother knew, and most importantly; the rehab and detox clinics released his blood work which proved it. Even Creighton Waters confirmed it in court.

Someone needs to conduct a case study on Alex. It’s fantastical his way of thinking, the entitlement, greed, and murderous impulses. I believe we could learn so much from this case, not only to gain an understanding of why he thought the way he did, but to maybe find ways to prevent tragedies like this from happening in the future. It's kinda complicated but not. The dude got away with everything got whatever he wanted grew up rich. There is the entitled attitude, he prob thought its not stealing if I pay it back before they try to get it out. He had a stay at home wife and 2 kids and properties he had to keep up with so he just poured out too much milk than his glass could hold. And at the point when he had all the pressure on himself and what was going on with paul and rumorably his wife. He convinced himself he would be saving Paul from jail and his health. And maggie he couldn't face his wife leaving and she would be better off watching over paul. The prosecution said it best it was all about Alex.. They can be disposable he's the one he cares about. But that also doesn't mean he didn't love his family he prob did. That's prob why paul was to the head it was spos to be fast and painless.and I think him saying they did him so bad. Was him admitting it was spos to be fast and painless and over. And maggie being executed was to put her out of her misery. Both to me looking at how they were shot was cowardly he couldn't look them in the eyes.

Moselle was owned solely by Maggie. Her wedding ring was under the seat in the car and she wasn't living with Alex at the time. She knew he was lying about the finances and she was heading toward divorce. She didn't want to go to Moselle when Alex asked her to come. His premise was that they were going to go and visit his dad, yet he didn't take Maggie with him to his parents house. Maggie and Paul were about to become his biggest financial liability and Alex only cared about Alex. Without Moselle Alex's line of credit with the bank would dissolve as well.

Her own sister testified that Maggie always preferred the beach over the "great outdoors" type of lifestyle, but that she took part in those activities because she wanted to spend time with her family. There was also testimony to the fact that Maggie always had Bubba with her whenever she went to spend the night at the beach house. Since she didn't take Bubba with her that day, it's pretty hard to believe that she had intended to stay there over night, and that Alex "lured" her back to Moselle.

Mark Tinsley was incredible on the stand. Clear concise and gave the jury a great example of what a truthful confident lawyer should look like. It was also cool to see lawyers sparing another lawyer on the stand! I normally feel uncomfortable watching a lawyer cross a witness. It was fun to see then hold their own and be clever!

Mark Tinsely is literally one of the people in this case that keeps me from losing all hope in humanity in general. Sure there are others but he really demonstrated supreme ethics with his actions ! A retired RN here. A lot of factors come into play, not just the AMOUNT. How many milligrams (strength) for one. If he was taking 60 - 20 mg oxy's, he surely cculd act normal especially if his body is used to taking that many over 20 years.

I honestly believe he killed Paul because of the boat accident revealing so many things. I think he was angry at Paul but, he knew he would have to kill Maggie so he wouldn't have to answer to her. She seemed very protective of her boys. Having worked in pharmacy for 37 years, no way was he taking as many oxycodone as he claims and NO WAY his family would not have known it.

So if Alex addiction was so bad there would've been many other clinical signs. For instance, withdrawal signs, verbal outbursts, tremors, sleep issues, other substance abuse, inconsistencies in professional performance just to name a few. I really believe that his supposed drug problem was an act.

The one truth was him coming clean about drug use. I have had it in my family and it was years before they quit. You talk to doctors , lawyers , Judges and everyday people. Vivitrol has been on the market for at least 10 years or more. Probably what Trump wanted to stop opioid use and his admin had this made a shot once a month. It’s sad that doctors are scared to give it but Washington rights the scrip.

Mark, you were a work of art on the stand!!!! I could listen to you talk about the case all day!!! Your dedication to your clients shines through!!! I have been around attorneys all of my life and worked in the Public Defenders Office in the 7th Judicial Circuit and I know of some attorneys who do their jobs because they want t o make sure that everyone's rights are protected. And there are a few who do it because it pays the bills. But every once in a while, you come across someone like you. The compassion, the hunger to see the right things done in the end, and the satisfaction of helping people who aren't able to help themselves can't be hidden!!!! SC is extremely blessed to have you fighting for the right thing!!!!!

Alex was so sure the law would believe his account of the murders because he WAS the law in Hampton County. I believe he never thought they would go so far as to indict him. He was always protected by his name and his father and wasn't accustomed to suffering any consequences.

100%. He was literally above the law. They have been scratching one another’s backs for going on 100 YEARS. The roots that grow over that period are SO DEEP and FAR REACHING that he had no reason to believe he couldn’t get away with it. There is SO MUCH corruption in this case. With all of the financial things, I believe MANY MORE will likely get dragged down with him. His addiction problem is BS. There is no way, unless he was taking Fentanyl, that he was doing opioids in excess like he said. It’s been IMPOSSIBLE to get your hands on pills in that amount since 2013. Trump further decimated opioids under his presidency.

l'm not sure what his amount was but personally l was taking 6 40mg of Oxy's a day 4 - 40mg of morphine tabs. 1- 100 mg of Fentynll patches every other day. 6 mg zanex (2mg.handle bars) and 20 mg of Ambien. I was once told by an emergency Doctor that l was on the Ultimate cocktail. And he couldn't believe l was alive. I"m alive today because l went off of all of it and Thank God l did.😊❤

I really enjoyed hearing him testify during the 404 hearing outside of the jury. And I enjoyed the sparing with Barber, I think they both did a good job and I enjoyed Barber's cross (he didn't come across as obnoxious whereas both Poot and Griffin drive me nuts. (However so did Creighton). I greatly enjoyed Tinsley sitting Barber down in his cross in front of they jury with the "I can't hear you" x 3 game. Like wow. I don't think I'd be gutsy enough to do that in real life.

Her greed and complicity in AH's dealings sadly came at a price. I think she became a liability when she finally wanted out and Paul not cow-towing to Daddy's whims and aligning with Maggie sealed his death sentence. So very sad. Idk how true that is. If he truly had been doing them for years and years your body builds a tolerance quickly. I know someone that was up to approximately 20 a day and that was only after a couple years use. I’m not defending him, and I know he exaggerates but he could have easily been doing a lot more than people that haven’t used pills long term realize.

My opinion of which I'm sure doesn't but I will state it anyway. Alex felt he had no choice but to get rid of Maggie. He knew she had seen an attorney about divorcing him. A divorce would mean a deeper dive into his indiscretions. I think Alex involvement into other unsavory finicial matters would come out if she divorced him. Maggie was not wearing her wedding ring the night she was murdered. Balonca found it under the driver's seat while cleaning Maggie's car after SLED released it. I feel Alex's evils are much deeper than anyone could anticipate.
