I still think it was nuts that the reason Alex KO'd Jiri so quick was because they saw his insta footage an hour before the fight. Like coach noticed Jiri not guarding his head and was like "Poatan, mix it up with headkicks if you rock him." "Hah? 🗿"
Pereira is a maestro on the feet, he doesn't have a versatile skillset full of spinning kicks, back kicks, question mark kicks, upward elbow like Rodriguez, but what he does have as secondary tools are his body jabs and ofc his calf kicks which setup his main weapons, his left High kick, left hook and flying knees. You CANNOT stand with this man especially at LHW
@@Kgopani3101 EXACTLY, when you're fighting Pereira you not only have to be aware of what he's doing, but what YOU'RE DOING AND WHERE. Mighty Mouses "void" analysis has helped me understand the fight game so much tbh
@@schen7913 Yeah but you can never be too sure, remember Jan saying he was gonna stand with Pereira all-week but immediately took him down once they got in there? Seeing him on video an hour before the fight was just confirmation that "ok cool, he's still not guarding his head."
@@MalosiAudioshes never guarded his head tho. In his whole career. I rly dont see how seeing him do the only thing he always ever does changes the gameplan
@@Xvgg-g2y bro ruined my parlay by one with his submission the first time so I let Chet convince me this one was a good pick just for him to be the only reason I lost again every other leg hit
We learn a lesson today, no short notice fights on parlays. Kinda makes sense dolidze was a bit more fresh consider extremes gym culture, don't know where Anthony trains
The issue is he said he was going to dominate MVP on the feet and KO him, then when he actually got in there he couldn't touch MVP and was afraid of the speed. Also, most of the grappling was just stalling
@@VitalFacets Cmon he wasnt stalling. nearly had him in rd1 with that choke rd 2 had him in a leg lock and in rd 3 he had his back before the fight ended
Pereira absolutely dominated Jiri the whole fight this time. He was landing more strikes, better strikes, controlling space. He was mixing targets beautifully, still damaging the legs but not being predictable with the calf kick. It seemed partly like a change in style (from counterpunching to offence) and partly like he just wasn't as surprised by Jiri's weird movement, but either way I can't see Jiri _ever_ beating Alex now without a total style rework.
I think this was a pretty bad night for Garry, even in the grappling. His BJJ was surprisingly good but he didn't seem to have the wrestling to make the most of it (not too surprising if he's training with Demian Maia). Most of his actual ground control time came off the leg kick + jab, not a takedown and in R2-3 he was having trouble taking down MVP, who has decent takedown defence but is obviously no wrestler. (Oh and people calling this fight a "robbery" should lose access to that word.)
What? Go look at the chales vs arman round 3 again. Arman landed some nasty elbows in the ground. Olivera did no damage. Just a couple of submission attempts cant triumph over the damage arman did.
Agreed there although it also works the other way around. If MVP was robbed here then Arman beat Charles Fairly. I would even argue Islam vs Volk was a fair win for Islam if we just value control time and Volume. The criteria on a "robbery" always seems to change depending on who the public dislikes at the moment.
The fact that Ian Garry couldn’t submit MVP in the first round was shocking to me. That says a lot to me about how skilled he actually is. Obviously, MVP outclassed him on the feet!! I would’ve given the fight to MVP, honestly.
@@donutman1101he did some pity shot in the first round, and he threw a few good elbows from his back in round 3. He barely won round 1 and 3 but MVP facckud him up in round 2
@@buddybrick i still would give 3 to mvp because ian did zero damage from mvps back but nevertheless i think both these guys careers are kinda ruined from their proformances
It's hard to argue that MVP won the third round. Ian's grappling was more effective than MVP's striking, and his RNC attacks were closer to finishing the fight than anything else in the third
It’s just a bad style matchup. Not like we haven’t seen MVP fall on the feet before. Garry himself relies on kicks a lot and fights at a shorter range. Someone like an Aldo would do better imo, defensively responsible, good pivots, good hands, counter puncher I was gonna put Simon in my parlay on your advice but I didn’t make that bet in time 😂 we did okay, Jourdain fucked one of them
Roman Dolla-Deez went and ruined Smith's big chance to get absolutely annihilated by Alex and now we have to watch him fight another one of Ramzan Kadyrovs lap dogs and get hugged to death.
I think people be seriously overrating ankalaev and his wrestling. It ain’t like Islam or umar etc(the smaller more tenacious guys) . Alex seems like all he does is work defence since getting into the ufc, he’ll be right.
No there’s one more. I’ve told my friends this a lot. Izzy won that second by playing possum, but the thing about playing possum, is it only ever works once.
one thing Alex can do that most other strikes can't is how he can both counter well, moving backwards, and also put on pressure and go first and for volume, that's why Jabland pushing him backwards didn't completely throw off Alex
Though to be honest Jabland was never going to beat Alex, and never is. The biggest counter to a jab is a check hook from the same stance, Alex would always beat Sean.
Bro MVP made a huge mistake letting Ian Garry up. I knew as soon as he did he would lose the decision. Having said that, MVP showed no ground and pound skills.
It’s always funny to watch coping after a failed prediction. For reasons inscrutable, Che picked MVP by knockout. Why? Who knows, but it’s now time to make excuses. Ian beat MVP for a solid 2 rounds out of 3. Not a real question who won no matter the whinging and whining. And he showed how a grapple heavy fight can destroy MVP’s game. All around, a step forward for the cocky, unlikeable Garry. You’ll be able to tell what the UFC wants to do with MVP based on his next opponent. If it’s another striker it means they want to keep him around for a time.
I picked MVP by knockout because I thought Ian Garry wouldn't be able to stand with him and that the karate blitz would be too hard for Ian to get a timing on which was true. Reasoning is pretty is simple not "who knows" 😂 Also, Logan Storley already proved a grappling heavy approach is a needed against MVP
Thank you for complimenting MVP’s ability to strike. His style is not one you want to strike against. He’s too far out of range for basically everyone. And his ability to blitz is too much for most.
Jiri reminds me of tony in his prime unbreakable will and crazy durability he’s like yea you can hurt me but I won’t care and eventually I’m gonna hurt you but when you come up against guys like Alex or chandler who can end your night with one shot regardless you have to have the fundamentals chin tucked hands up at least and jiri holds his hands by his waist if he doesn’t fix this soon his chin will crack and it will be too late
I'm sorry but MVP did a whole lotta nothing. He hit Ian like 4 times and then got backpacked. Like watch the fight MVP didn't do ANYTHING. Bro jabbed a couple times and threw a right hand🤦🏽♂️
I love the Charles Olivera racing more than just you taking. These ppl weird as you can show your face but I think the slides shows and vids of fights training are better. Just switch between. Great video
I’m not worried about the fight with ankalaev, Alex’s takedown defense has gotten super fuckin good, and nobody can fuckin stand with this man, this will be his biggest test for sure tho, ankalaev is a hell of a fighter
No Anthony Smith fan but bro. You lose credibility when you’re being all dramatic and calling UFC performances embarrassing. While sitting in your room journaling about these guys 😂. Let’s see you run a mile on camera. Or anything that’s close to 1% of a UFC performance.
Hmmm 1% of a ufc perform you want? How about me and you do an MMA spar, I'll fly you out to where I train at and we can make a whole video about it. I genuinely won't try to hurt you bad and I'll try and make it more entertaining. Drop your email and I'll reach out to you
