@@finnmoranwhat is ridiculous? Francis put up a great fight against fury... are you saying he didn't? Or are you just saying AJ is way better then the heavyweight champ and no one should think Francis may be a decent boxer? Not sure what you even saying
Yeah, he just stood there flat footed like he was posing for a selfie. He should have been lower during the entire fight especially since he has such a good uppercut. He was slow and lethargic, now lateral movement. I guess he was overconfident with his power. If the opposition is tall make yourself smaller forcing his to punch down. How could he NOT see that right hand after getting clipped over and over again?!? Now he will be punchy and Jon Jones has a definite strategy waiting for him in the MMA.
@@Leo.23232and why did he get clipped over and over again? Do you think it might be because he never took his head of mid-line and was just waiting about to get clobbered like the dude you're replying to was saying? 🤔 Ngannou boxes very flat footed and doesn't adjust his guard or move his head much. I honestly couldn't figure out how Fury didn't piece him up because his boxing was pretty shit in their fight. I honestly thought it was a work. On the one hand, it was nice to see some redemption for boxing since every mma fan was calling it bullshit after Ngannou narrowly lost to Fury. But on the other hand, the knockout was brutal and I like Francis so it was tough to watch him get demolished like that. But from a boxing perspective that was a bloodbath. Ngannou was just a lamb to the slaughter. And yeah, Joshua would be even more so in MMA, but he'd never do it because he knows that too. Francis did it for the money and I hope he got an absolute bag. But that was tough to watch. Everyone giving shit to Strickland for going hard on Sneako, but this ended worse.
@@DonOneDetroitwhat you're saying will take years to learn and need to be a younger man willing to adapt and be comfortable in pretty much a new fighting style.
How can anyone that has seen AJ fight say this. It's not just wrong, it literally makes 0 sense. How does that guy have a youtube channel. Surely he was just trolling?
Joshua started boxing at 18 after being released from juvenile detainment. Crazy how much him and Francis have achieved starting fighting later then most.
Francis got his bag man I’m happy for him regardless of the loss. Should truly be rich for generations now if he plays his cards right. Can even help his people back home now if he chose. Next level wealth not attainable by MMA.
Not really. He tried to hype himself up as the next big thing in boxing and is now 0-2 with one extremely embarassing loss. So nobody is tuning in to watch him box again. And UFC is not taking him back after he turned his back on them and left. He better save his money because he has no draw anymore.
@@Notfakeultra That’s not my point. Whether if he’d be faster than AJ or not, he would’ve been quicker than he was last night if he weighed 20lbs less.
As a long time combat sport fan I can tell you that boxing has a lot of stars, you don't know them cause you're an MMA fan, its so cringey when MMA youtubers make videos on boxing.
It's surreal to watch someone like that go out cold. He had never been dropped in his career prior to fighting AJ. Ngannou has been the hammer many times but this time he was the nail.
@@bidenonabender5903 Laughing at someone getting flatlined is kinda fucked up man. They put their lives on the line every time they step in to the ring or cage. I could never laugh at someone’s soul leaving their body like that. It can have serious impact on their health and or career. It’s a part of the sport but it’s not funny. A normal person wouldn’t laugh at that imo.
@@Masheen i tune in to watch two men who agreed on trying to knock each other out, why be sad if what is supposed to happen happens? skill aside at the end of the day it's about who hits who in the head first/harder, the outcome is a concussion, you need to watch another sport if the main part is a problem for you!
Bro you’re the guy who just came out with a video called “Francis just destroyed boxing”, and didn’t make a prediction video for Francis vs AJ. Don’t act like you called this 😂
The curse wasn’t involved with that. That’s just a dumbass riding the Ngannou hype train. People really thought Ngannou was gonna stop an Olympic gold medalist and Heavyweight champ 😂
I think the Tyson Fury fight got to Francis' head a little bit. If you reeaaally think about it, it'll take more years of boxing experience than Francis has left in his combat career to truly be able to contend with REAL boxers that have been boxing for about half their lives. Francis is 37 & A.J. might've just taken 2yrs or more off of his career with that KO. You can't train for 6 months to a year for a fight against a guy that's been boxing since he was a teenager. The learning curve is just too steep.
Buy PPV Cameron you think the nfl makes money if nobody watches and they don’t have advertising It’s all just a business at the end of the day Only %1 of boxers make millions of dollars and boxing has been established as a sport for over 100 years Add the fact that they have so many commissions/organizations When a fighter makes it to the ufc even not a champion or ranked guy they’re already in the 1% of the market in their respected sport. The fighters need their own fighters union like the NFL/NBA/MLB and other sports So they can make their own rules about how much they get from ufc advertisements, revenue, ticket sales etc etc That’s why the NBA and MLB players make so much money is because of their players union They own the sport!!! Not the bosses, They both are the only major sports leagues to have season strikes
I've wanted to see Francis lose ever since he KO'd my boy Stipe. I just wanted every dipshit hyping him up as invincible to shut up... but when I actually saw him laid out like that, my heart sank into my stomach. To see such a great guy get sent on the lightless walk... there is no joy to be found in that.
spot on. 100% agreed with you on everything. Ngannou at best is an amateur boxer, no disrespect to him but to expect a 37 year old that been boxing for a couple years, with 1 match under his belt to win against a champion like Joshua whose been training for 2 decades, fought champions, is taller, 2 years younger was comical now you think about it. Ngannou will get lose against any elite heavyweight. but also Ngannou would win against them with UFC rules
but he almost beat a world champ at his first match.. fury is training for decades too lol, beat deontae wilder a couple of times, defended his belt a few times, still undefeated and still awfull performance vs nganou... i dont know what happened that night .. but either fury was just messing aroudn because his belt was not in danger so he said this guy doesnt know how to box i will give him a slack or something.. its almost surreal what happened. What happened yesterday is more the realiry, you cannot come in a new sport and think you can challenge the elites of this sportat you second match....we never saw something like that... even boxing fan was questioning the legetimacy of elite boxer after fury vs nganou.. that it was shamefull for boxing...Now AJ put the pendulum in place and now we know... There is no miracle or super humain.. that was a terrible KO that nganou suffered from.. probably very dangerous... and this fight should not have took place in the first place.
""The Sport of Boxing is hanging by a thread"" .... NOPE! Boxing is doing well. Ngannou lost two (2) boxing matches within 4 and 1/3rd months, making more money (over $30,000,000.00) than all his MMA fights combined X 5. Boxing draws more fans. Why did Fury never fight Joshua??? They both fought Wladimir Klitschko, Francis Ngannou, Kevin Johnson, and Otto Wallin. Fury didn't knock ANY of them out. Joshua knocked them all out. Fury doesn't train seriously. Ngannou can hang with him.
Mighty Mouse has an excellent technical breakdown of the fight on his channel. Interestingly, he said that he would favour Joshua against Ngannou even in an MMA match due to his overall technical superiority and athleticism. Interesting coming from the guy who made quick work of Rodtang in MMA rules. Boxing is obviously much more important in the heavier weight classes of MMA than the lighter classes (Topuria aside), but I’m not sure it outweighs grappling. I don’t think its far fetched to say Joshua with 6 months MMA training would be favoured against a kickboxer like Gane,, but does he think AJ beats Aspinall in MMA too, a faster and more technical boxer and grappler than Ngannou? I think that would be tougher to argue. Interesting cases of styles make fights. Usyk with a brown belt in BJJ would be a problem for LHW though.
The moment the fight ended I feel like I came back to earth and thought to myself “oh yeah of course this was gonna happen”. I also realized that AJ needed this win way more. Francis wrung out the UFC heavyweight division and has a great deal with PFL lined up to fall back on now. AJ’s career would have basically been over
I was really rooting for ngannou even though I wouldn't really be surprised if he lost. I was hoping that in the worst case scenario where he was gonna lose it would be a decision or a standing tko or some shit, but to see ngannou get folded like that is depressing.
The reason why the shorts happened wasn't because of schaub, watch Napoleon blownapart.....one of the tuf fighters fought in basketball shorts with the price tag. Wasn't the first time this has happened.
nothing but respect for Ngannou......but jesus.....i dont understand how people can fall for that amount of hype that they seriously believed that he had a chance against AJ. his performance against Fury wasnt "out off this world"......Furys performance was outwordly bad.
Its a completely different sport man idk why people can’t understand that. Body mechanics in boxing allows you to throw 100x harder punch than in MMA it’s the sweet science. That is why boxers sucks in MMA because its hard to land those kind of punches because their lead leg is gonna get kick the shit out of them.
Yup. You don’t have time to plant in the MMA because you need to be able to avoid getting side kicked in the grill. Plus you need to move to avoid takedowns. 100% correct - two different sports.
let me get this straight. You reckon boxers just hang around waiting for kicks? Please, enlighten me. Boxers are basically like ninja cats with superhuman reflexes, impeccable timing, and a sixth sense for distance. Plus, they've got the knockout power of a freight train. Francis can testify to that. Unless, of course, you're referring to that dude at the local gym teaching boxercise. Yes, that makes total sense.
well let me remind you that the best boxer that ever existed vs you tuber went a distance and wasn't one sided. let that sink in. this shows that what are you training, how often, how long, titles you have and your technique is secondary to age, height, strength and other physical adventages. in boxing at least
He is objectively tough. It took three clean power punches from AJ to actually put him down for good, which is insane in it's own right. But you're right in people being unrealistic about how tough. No human being can take clean punches without being hurt.
Nganou vs Wilder would sell. Their boxing skills are of a similar level and a KO is almost guaranteed. Redemption in The Dunes! (a shame Wilder will not take the fight)
Of course this happened when Francis literally parries jabs like front kicks, but it really seemed like his presence in the ring was enough to maybe stifle AJ’s offence. I guess not
Telling you as a boxing fan, Tyson Fury is known to choose his opponents and hasn’t fought no real contender but a overhyped Wilder, AJ in the other hand has fought high level opponents, he’s fought his mandatories including having the balls to fight Usyk
I was pulling for Ngannou, but oh well. I hope he dusts himself off, cashes the check, and continues doing whatever the hell he wants with financial security, whether it's another boxing match, an MMA fight with the PFL, or retiring from fighting altogether.
ngannou got exposed he is not a boxer and he should fight some b level or c level boxers. ufc has not training like boxing. i dont think he can win against chisora or andy ruiz
Boxing isn't a dying sport. Its a niche sport just like the Kentucky Derby. The middleweight and light weight divisions of boxing are some of the entertaining thsnkd to the Mexican fighters.
Good analysis, Ngannou was set up to counter Fury, when Fury got caught, he went to the jab, the ball was in Ngannous court and he did not have an answer. He needs a new trick.
I thought Ngannou should've fought Wilder (in boxing) instead of AJ and hopefully won. Because now he's a 0-2 boxer and it's gonna be much harder to get top boxing matches.
Derek Chisora got $4m for his last boxing match, Parker and Zhang got $2-3m each to fight on the undercard the other night. Meanwhile Francis got around $600k for his last MMA fight and he was the reigning HW champ. I’d like to see more mma guys come to boxing to get paid what they deserve and stick it to Dana White. He’s the only person making money in MMA.
I would rock some UFC gear if they actually had some sick clothes for the fighters. As a young kid I had some Tapout clothing, but ain’t nobody buying the new UFC gear. Shit those Instagram MMA Tshirts are better than
Fully grown children complain about UFC pay and contracts. It is a free market, the fighters can choose to sign on the line or not. Such an absolutely stupid thing to bitch about. If the UFC doesn’t pay enough then they lose out on a fight. As simple as that. Once a fighter AGREES to perform X many of fights for Y amount of money that is COMPLETELY on them for signing.
@@djangomatador9442 Do you even know what fanboy means? I doubt it because it doesn’t even remotely fit with what I said. I’m talking big boy responsibility in life, choice to sign or not. Maturity and solid decision making. Take your childish nonsense elsewhere.
It would sell and be fun knowing that both can punch and neither can defend. Sadly, I doubt Wilder would risk it, a loss would end him and any memory of him except as a meme
Yeah true but dude was trying to make money so we can't blame him. Brutal, brutal ko though. That punch definitely took a couple of years off Francis. He needs to rest for a year and then fight in MMA but he better use more wrestling because his chin is probably gone.
I will be honest - watching Fury vs Ngannou I thought it was a work. It could be Fury was just that awful that night but I doubt it. Seemed like a co-promo and excellent business. I never really thought Francis could hang with a legit heavyweight and I still don't. That said, sucked to see him KO'd so bad, but at least he got paid. He has other battles to fight and seems to have a good head on his shoulders. I hope he focuses on that as combat sports are ruthless with their legends. Tyson is fighting Jake Paul. Brutal. I hope he catches him somehow.
I don’t know how so many people thought Francis would win. The match with Fury didn’t give confidence that he could beat AJ because he dropped Tyson who clearly didn’t care.
Im not making excuses for Fury, but you can tell he didnt prepare well. Big part of that was the unknown factor, and the fact that he is old and slowing. You can tell that AJ took it seriously and he had the tape and the gameplan, the result was Francis getting startched in 2.
People shouldn't be surprised. Casuals actually think Fury is a good fighter when he's not so when ngannou did work on him everyone thinks he's a boxer now. No lol. Way too technical
@@FactsandReelsForall I shudder to think how many times Usyk would land clean on Francis with his novice defence. Yeah he likely wouldn't put him to sleep with a hammer blow like AJ but he would do serious accumulative damage..that is actually worse than being put to sleep early
@@sliccric2266 Agreed man lmao Usyk is scary with his output. He flies around u like a super Saiyan and throws hundreds of punches until u quit in fatigue. Dude is an animal.
Im not surprised, but what surprised me is how bad tyson fury is in reality in boxing... So probably tyson fury wont be champ way longer it will all end in may! Its almost impossible to see 2 boxer in the top 4 heavyweight and have 2 so much different prestation againt de same guy. fury lost to nganou, and joshua destroyed him like if the guy never boxed in his life witch is almost what it is...I think the hype aroud fury have really demenished yesterday!
Boxing is not holding on by a tread. You just don't follow the sport closely. Boxing throughout it's history has always had up in down moment. It was Americas first sport. It hit low points when Baseball, Basketball and Football first was invented. Boxing will never go anywhere. I think Boxing and MMA will be like Basketball and Football. But for combat sports arena. They will have there own separate fan bases.
Brown gloves were a good strategy and seemed planned as the color adds another element of disguise/camouflage (you can hear Joshua on the phone specifically asking for the ‘brown’ colored). In contrast with bright white gloves which can be seen. Never saw AJ wearing this color before. Francis probably should have used a peek-a-boo as an offense, meaning high guard from a lower stance to close the distance (aka Mike Tyson), instead of being so upright and trying to fight outside…he is too slow and cumbersome (and inexperienced) to execute this strategy.
Joshua did wear brown coloured gloves before, check his first fight vs Usyk. I never thought about the camouflage effect though, that’s quite smart. Anyways, Ngannou’s weight was his downfall. Boxing isn’t about being bigger than the next man. It made him an easy target
@@Rellz_yt looking back, I think that they were more beige or gold but this too would work against Usyk as it is close to his skin color and also AJ’s too. I never understood why boxers wear bright colors as just a quick glance reveals hand positions. Brown was more Ngannou’s complexion. I didn’t see where the gloves matched his outfit and there is footage where he is asking several times for the brown pair. Ngannou was horribly prepared and got clipped with the same shot three times for knockdowns. Kinda like Wilder is a sucker for an overhand right against the rope during the Fury fights. In the last two fights in the same damn situation- back against the rope with lowered left hands.
@@Notfakeultra if you’re in an arena with bright lights if probably does. Remember that all you need is a few milliseconds to be out of your opponent’s vision to land. Anybody can quickly peep a red or white glove but something that matches your or your opponent’s skin could actually help to catch your opponent off guard. So then why did he ask for him the brown pair like three different times during the glove selection meeting. AJ’s two trainers picked up a white pair and keep going back to them but AJ said “I want the brown ones!” His trainers thought that the brown pair had issues in the thumb area. I was like what is up with the ugly ass color and thought he was going for a desert storm like outfit but he wore white trunks.
@@Rellz_yt yes there is such a thing as being too big. He was mouth breathing in the first round. Same with Big Bang Zhang (300lbs? Didn’t they learn from Andy Ruiz?!).
Imo it isn't that hard to make an argument that Anthony Joshua is better than Tyson Fury. Francis caught Fury by surprise cool but a fighter as skilled as Fury is marketed to be should've been able to make adjustments and win that fight on fundamentals alone. AJ won that fight with basic jab cross and footwork, exactly the skills Tyson Fury is supposed to be the best at in the division. Francis had only one punch which was the counter left hook and Fury was still incapable of figuring out how to get inside and start his offence And not just Francis either. Otto Wallin was also overrated for no reason other than he looked good against Fury until AJ made him quit
If I remember correctly mma Che you stated that boxing was a fake sport and Francis showed that in the fury fight? Comparing to sombo as if that’s fake too ?
I think the vocal mma community went too far with their expectations and this out of nowhere shit talking about boxing. People have been saying it’s a dead sport and yet it’s still here and people still watch it. These are the only 2 sports I actually watch. Just confused at the tribalism of it if that makes sense.
I just hope Ngannou doesn't get brain damage from the Joshua fight. He got a shit ton of money and he can just retire now if we are talking about the financial aspect
