So sad that the translator butchered this moment. This is one of the most wholesome speeches ever in my opinion, after all their backstory... I hope everyone gets to understand the real speech that Pereira delivered 🥲
TBH it's hard to be translator for Pereira. Dude just keep going and going for what it feels 5 minutes and translator has to remember all that shit lol. He needs to make pauses to allow better translation.
I got the jist of it from what the translator said actually. But it's hard to do that in real time - if you've ever heard what it sounds like in an arena like that (and not just the smooth TV/Stream audio), even when the fighters have a mic and you're right next to them, it can be hard to hear when the crowd is still buzzing and murmuring after a main event.
@@user-iy3gb1sp2w why the negativity? Does it make you feel better? I'm curious, as I tend to feel terrible about myself when I put down others, even those that I don't like. I feel like hate can hold you back from being your higher self. Anyway, I have nothing bad to say about any of these warriors as I could never do what they do.
@@catch2080 as a Brazilian I can say that it was like a friend, inspirational, warm heart, sweet. In the end he says "come to daddy" but only because of the sport, to keep the "rivalry"
He can feel that Adesanya is kinda depressed he is offering him a fight for the belt, he gave him a new goal and maybe purpose just like Adesanya did with that bar speech
I doubt that Izzy is depressed He just wants to return a favor because I think deep down He wants to be Izzy's friend and often said that he would train with Izzy and want to be his friend And I'm a fan of Izzy(of Alex too) but I think what holds these two back from having a friendship is Izzy's ego Which is normal for fighters obviously But still
@@RealMrSmileIzzy has giant ego actually, i understand he is one of the greatest kickboxers as well, but one shouldn't be this stuck in their own head.
@@RealMrSmile Bro they are fighters and years long rivals. Yes Izzy technically is responsible for Alex being famous and I'm sure he's genuinely appreciative to an extent, but him talking that shit literally pulled this man from a bar just to whoop him. He's is *very politely* dismantling Izzy's mind by making note of the fact that "the man drinking his days away in a bar" holds the belt he wants, and now he has to come take it from him. Pereira is fucking Thanos.
Izzy and Volk were the most active champion over the reign (Volk still going) Izzy knocks out Alex in their second MMA fight (forget about kickboxing fights I’m talking UFC) then loses to Strickland. He’s lost 4 times over the stretch he’s been on so stop hating on him. Yeah he’s cringy and says some questionable shit but what MMA personality hasn’t?
@@superchiller123chill But it didn't so it is still 1-3. Going by your logic, I can also say Alex shoulda won that last fight vs Izzy if he didn't get carried away and stay composed when he got Izzy hurt( and yes Izzy was hurt and not only trying to play possum)
@@eeJOKERee losing a decision with wrong judging is different to a KO. Going by your comment its clear im talking to a Izzy hater. you will do mental gymnastics to prove how another successful man is bad at his job. I hope you find some maturity in life
@@superchiller123chill so you can change the logic with anything that suits you or makes you feel better? Izzy hater? more like I'm talking to an Izzy fan since logic doesn't apply with you in the right way and that what Izzy fans are- delirious lmao. And its ironic when weirdos try to flex and have a last word with something like "I hope you find some maturity in life" when you are here clearly not happy with getting corrected by proper logic. gtfo with your maturity sht, u should be learning it in the first place before actually trying to apply it unto others
People are so annoying not being able to avoid mixing up things. He was being wholesome, but of course he has to put some spice into it at the end. I thought everyone would've understand that easier.
He translated what Alex said but not the emotion…Alex was being lowkey respectful toward Izzy and genuinely thanking him for the person he have become and he just wanted to return the favor by calling him out. The translator made it look like Alex is disrespectful into calling out Izzy.
His teamate needs to stop translating, man. He ruins Alex's speeches every single time. Charles Oliveira has a great translator. Why does the beardy dude insist on being there translating his friends words if he does such a poor job at it?
He said :The same way whilst i was in a bar drinking a lot i watch a video of him saying i would probably stay in that bar drinking (a drunken)telling others i once beat that guy the world champion and that was all it was for me while he would go and prosper in life. That video helped me and encouraged me to want more of life and break the alcohol cycle and as such ill also rescue him and give him a chance by calling him not to retire because he is a talented fighter too good to be inactive because of the previous fights between us.I offer you the opportunity to win the belts back please seize it .
as a brazilian i was super sad how this was translated... even the translation on this video doesn't 100% convey his thoughts, although it is 10x better than what was said live
They have real beef, but Alex just wants to give fans the one fight with talent, stakes, and history. It's so wasted on Izzy, pretending his 1-1 record (1-3 counting kickboxing) against Alex settled the score, spending his prime years dodging his own division after Sean humiliated him, let alone take another title shot at light heavyweight. Ironic that Izzy made himself the irrelevant ex-fighter who gloats "I beat that guy once" at this callout, pretending he hurt Alex's ego at all so he doesn't have to confront his own.
@@MynameisBrianZXI am Alex's fan but his stock definitely dropped a bit after that brutal KO by Izzy but difference here is Alex was man enough to take the loss and even give Izzy props backstage right after KO and in interviews that followed after that. Alex got humiliated but took his loss like a man, moved up division and few months later fought former champ and won and then beat another former champ to become LHW champ while Izzy is hiding in his room talking shit. If Izzy was even half the man Alex is he would accept his loss with no excuses, gave Strickland his props and go back to gym to avenge his loss and move his stock up even higher like Alex is doing. Alex is also 3-1 against him but Izzy is acting like only his win matters and he got "last laugh". I don't know how people can be fan of this man?
@@MojKanal-cz1iz Nah, you are reading too much into something that doesn't exist. Both of them give props to each other. Once again, wishful thinking from fans who just cannot get over
Adesanya is his best opponent and that’s because, please don’t get butthurt Alex fanboys, he was weight cheating by 30 pounds in every fight. Even Joe Rogan called it blatant weight cheating so that says enough. Yet still, Izzy was winning in every single fight until he got caught. Unlike Jiri, Jamal, Sean Cuckland and everyone else that gets punched once and goes down instantly Izzy would go multiple rounds, winning most of them or really pressuring Alex like nobody else can. Obviously he knocked him out cold as well in the rematch so once again, his greatest opponent and motivator. The respect is always there with Alex he’s a great man.
Most people personally attacking izzy have real problems in their lives that they push aside to takedown people more succesful then they are...the maturity of most of you people about the fighting game is incredibly far to find and exceptionally pity sometimes...grow up
It’s an entertainment business, naturally people have their heroes and villains. I wouldn’t read too much into it as that’s a critical aspect for most people’s overall enjoyment within sport.
This dude needs to fight contenders in his division the Izzy obsession is outta control. This wasn’t even respect it was backhanded praise to promote a rematch at LHW lmao Alex fans have become even worse than what Izzy fans were.
Its so crazy how the narrative flipped from outside perspective. Izzy will probably be the one in the pub saying he beat that guy. Hats off to both tho 💯
@@epicquickercrbs3130 jiri is very honourable, he wouldnt put marc on blast like that but if you had even a shred of knowledge you would know that was too early of a stoppage, especially for a championship fight. even marc knew it was a bad stoppage, didnt look at jiri once afterwards and scurried out of the octagon as soon as possible.
I thought the same watching it live but after they showed reply you could see Jiri's arms went limp with last few elbow hits. He was done and ref saved him from taking more unnecessary damage.
If Adesanya has 2% of class and maturity Pereira has. It's one of the most emotional things he was recorded saying, and you can feel its from a place of truth and reapect.
He does. He's just also a hot head. It's a game of personalities. When he read the letter a kid with a disability sent him, that's who he actually is. He isn't a criminal, he's not out there running over pregnant women or attacking people.
I mean look at this guy he's a retired two division Kick boxing championship and hall of famer, he just came in ufc to enjoy his retirement now he's a two division ufc champion man he's different
All izzy n alex fans should be thankful these 2 shared the octagon as arguably the best striker and the most dangerous striker in the UFC this rivalry is gonna be missed
People say Alex is the hero and Izzy is the villain. But people aren't comic book characters, you know. No human being is completely made of malice, nobody is evil through and through, no character looks the same from all angles, and hell, no character stays consistent at all times.
Unfortunately, the speech was over Gizzy's head. Gizzy is the one now talking about that 1 fight he won, LOL, you couldn't write a dumber character than Gizzy.
All the fans are pretty nasty towards Adesanya. But their story is so unique, and I am 100% they are going to be great friends when it's all said and done
Pereira had made some money and legacy in kickboxing but had peaked until he literally claims that Izzy’s bar story found him actually in a bar having those exact thoughts. Now he is 2 weight UFC defending champion mainly of which he attained by chasing down Izzy at MW. Regardless of whose “side” your on both are legendary fighters and intertwined in MMA greatness.
Not that Alex is better than Izzy, but Izzy should take his win and stay away from Alex. Alex is way too big to be fighting Izzy although their skill levels are pretty close.
They are the ultimate rivals where they make each better than they can imagine. Now he is pulling izzy out of his slump, hopefully it does re-motivate izzy.
This is epic lol, Alex is like Izzy's boogie man. Beat him in kickboxing, followed in UFC to beat him again. I know Izzy won the last fight yea yeah, but Alex has secured the LWH strap Izzy once fought for. Chama!
What people don't understand is that when Izzy was talking about Alex of being that guy, he was actually talking about himself coz Izzy always wanted an opportunity to take his revenge but failed in their first MMA in the last moment. So when he finally slept Alex, it was somehow IT for Izzy, the hunger and motivation went 📉📉 for him due to which his even lost to Strickland. But people won't understand what i said tbh 😢
I think what really hit Alex about the video was the mention of a pub or bar. He worked really hard to get rid of a crippling addiction. It gave him something more to prove, that he is never going back to that life.
this is lilke Wanderlei vs Cro Cop in Pride. It could be Fedor and cro cop but rematch never happened which is the biggest WASTE of a fucking fight in all time of MMA. Fuck that would be great
I don't think Izzy wants light heavyweight Alex doubtful if Izzy beats any top light heavyweights and I don't know how long Alex will stay as champ. Izzy has almost like a cheat code body and fight style for middleweight but it doesn't work in light heavyweight those guys are bigger he is too skinny and sucks at grappling
I mean if you watch Adesanya reaction on his channel, he had a chuckle about it. So I don't think it would ruin the vibe per se. It would give the whole picture. Poking your rival was chef's kiss imo haha. Idk tho xD
Love Alex pereira but people hyping him up as a God lol he ain't undefeated he got put to sleep.may be once but was.snoring all the same he's beatable just ask izzy llmao
