Alex Puccio is returning for a local roped competition in Colorado at ‪@movementgyms‬
This episode shows how Alex warms-up, her mentality approaching the routes and her reflection on them.
Alex is prone to anxiety and nerves and this episode we get to see them come out as...let's just say she doesn't climb her best.
We all get nervous when we climb.
Be it with others watching, a competition, trying to send a project outside - an onsight attempt. It's natural.
Alex has a lifetime of competition experience. Winning world cups, but often putting her 2nd and 3rd placements down to her mental game.
How do you overcome these anxieties?
How do you move on from feeling not so great?
Watch Alex talk through these aspects and have her attempts at the final two qualifier routes at movement baker (Denver).
A huge thank you to Movement Gyms for letting us film. Movement Baker is one of our favorite gyms and it's so nice to be able to film there. The staff are all excellent and facilitating.
Also, a massive thank you to our new friends, ‪@NathanBetts‬ and ‪@hannahmorrisbouldering‬ They helped film this and were beyond helpful! If you've not done so already, check out their channel!
They've been in Colorado for the last week - showing us how to "RU-vid" and we are excited to see where it takes us.
Keep an eye out on their channel for some videos featuring the both of us.
Let us know what you think of this format? Please like and subscribe to help us keep putting out the content to help you and your climbing.
For those wondering, the routes are about 13c/d and Alex is wearing a heart monitor (she is OK).
Thanks for watching!
:)

For the editor: I don't mind an even longer video, the cuts during climbs seem a bit jarring and I want to see the full climb!

So good to see you back in comp mode Alex! Route climbing is such a brutal way to sharpen the mindset. After having such a hard time with that clip and still finish the climb, that requires so much will power and mental strength to hold on and keep going, so impressive! Looking forward to watching you climbing in comp, you'll definitely do great!!

Thank you for the sub and the watch!! I'd been Kilter boarding with a client in the morning, so was pretty warm. I rested for about an hour or so, so warmed up again on a 12b. If stone cold (after hangboarding etc), I'd prob jump on an 11d/12a.

I boulder for about a year now and I have toproped before but it has been years ago. Yesterday I went toproping and although the individual moves were easy, I was so so so pumped on the harder routes each time near the end. This reminds me of that haha.

🗽Power endurance... is different from bouldering. You always have to know exactely what to do and how to do efficient. Pink one very well done Alex! 👍 .
@roapcoaching917
@roapcoaching917 9 месяцев назад
Yep, we have many aspects to energy systems: aerobic vs anaerobic, capacity vs power. Most people struggle with aerobic power (horrendously pumped) on sustained (but not overly hard) moves, compared to losing power and the ability to pull (anaerobic capacity).
